  1. Who has seen the article on the WKRN web site about Lebanon students. http://wkrn.com/2015/01/28/school-officials-parents-at-odds-over-cheering-at-lebanon-h-s/ There is some truth, some half truth and some complete false points in the article. The Blue Devil Rollercoaster in the video was cool.
  2. Let's take a midseason look at the burning questions. 1. Portland, cellar dwellers no more? 2. Round peg, square hole. 3. The recruiter is feeling the heat! 4. The crystal ball is really cloudy.
  3. Congrats to Mt. Juliet and Coach Allen on your victory over Station Camp!
  4. Still surprised not to hear of at least one other homeschooler playing at a TSSAA school besides the two in Wilson County.
  5. He played football at Mt. Juliet for 4 yrs. He played basketball for three years. Evidently there was friction between him and Coach Allen. I do not know all the details. He was not allowed (or he chose not to return) to play basketball this season. Right after football season was over, he moved to Wilson Central's zone, withdrew from Mt. Juliet and enrolled at Central. He played several basketball games at Central. From here the details get sketchy. A few weeks ago he allegedly shows up at a Mt. Juliet game under the influence and was arrested.
  6. I have a lot of respect for Coach Allen, especially after seeing how the Chowbay deal unfolded.
  7. Lebanon had their worst shooting night than I can remember. If that is the best Statiom Camp can play, they will not make it to the state tournament.
  8. I think Central has been to state 4 times. Not sure if Bond was the head coach all four times. McDowell, at Lebanon, went as a player. He is only in his 4th year as a head coach.
  9. Wilson Central had about 10 seniors on last years team. Of the best two juniors, one transfered and one decided not to play basketball this year. They had two kids transfer in, but they have gotten into trouble and are off the team. I do not believe any coaches are on the hot seat.
  10. I have the whole bracket in a pdf file. I do not know how to post it here though.
  11. Not sure about what you are referring to.
  12. I believe Chattanooga has hired an excellent coach. Good luck Coach McKinney. We will miss you in Lebanon at Cumberland University. http://www.gomocs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=88688&SPID=10578&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=209810817&DB_OEM_ID=17700
  13. Why haven't you posted your top five? I will post yours for you. Chicky's top 5. 1. Kyle 2. Kyle 3. Kyle 4. Kyle 5. Kyle LOL
  14. There seems to something wrong with Tennessee District 9AAA girls basketball standings. All the schools have played two district games, but Mt. Juliet, Lebanon and Gallatin only show one game in the standings.
  15. TheRealTruth says Gallatin won by a couple. Does anyone know the final score?
  16. District play starts tonight. Some burning questions for the season. 1. Will Portand move out of the cellar this year? 2. Will Chowbay fit in at Central? 3. If Station Camp does not win the district, will they fire the recruiter? LOL 4. Will Lebanon have their first winning season in district play since joining 9AAA?
  17. Tennessee is not included on your list. Do you think Tennessee's law does not require public schools to allow homeschoolers to participate? The way I read the law, Tennessee public schools who are members of TSSAA must allow homeschoolers to try out. Unless I missed it, no-one else has mentioned homeshoolers playing for a public school outside the two I listed in my first post.
  18. Do you know something we don't?
  19. In his first game at Central, Chowbay led the team with 16 pts. in a 69-54 loss at Riverdale.
  20. Interesting article. This is from August 2011. TSSAA passed their rule allowing home school participation in 2010. The state law requiring public schools to allow home school participation was passed in 2013.
