  1. "during the school year on a non-school team prior to the school season by students that will play the following season on the high school team" This only applies during the school year. From August till the beginning of the Regular season. This does not apply to anything that goes on during the summer. I think that a lot of people are misreading what it says. The key words to read are "during the school year" The school year does not start until school starts in August.
  2. Mountain Magic Youth Spring Shootout Johnson City, TN Contact Joe Ebarb 423-341-0133 Who did South Greene end up hiring for the girls job? Was it who everyone wanted?
  3. I don't believe that Nicole's mother would allow that.
  4. So during spring you can have more than 3 players from the same team playing on an AAU team?
  5. This is the biggest bunch of B.S. that I have ever seen. TSSAA can't control what a kid wants to do in the summer.
  6. I would agree with you on that it does not make any sense at all. But we know that coaching changes that have been made in the past don't make much sense. This may just be a rumor, I don't know. I was just asking for some insight.
  7. I am not sure on either of those two questions. I don't think they have been to the state since he has been there.
  8. Thanks, they do try and carry themselves with class. Win or lose they still have respect for whoever they play. Their coaching staff has done a good job at creating some discipline on this team that past two years. Northeast looked very disciplined the night that we played them. I am sure they will be able to compete as long as they have athletes. Congratulations to you and your team on a great season.
  9. I disagree about the AAU preparing a player for college better than the high school. It really depends on the type of coach you have at the high school. I have seen many players play in the AAU and have come back to the high school and not be able to play any better on the defensive end. I think that AAU play is faster and allows the players to score, but it does not help out much on their defense. The shot clock has too many costs involved with it. All the schools can not afford to have shot clocks installed. Plus the purpose of high school sports is not to develop the next Michael Jordan or the next Peyton Manning. High school sports are there to develop some life lessons that help young people mature as they get older. Along the way you might have an athlete that will earn a scholorship off of their ability. This world has put too much importance on winning at the High School Level.
  10. Rumor is that he inquired for both of the jobs.
  11. Has Cutlip been offered the job at Morristown East?
  12. What if you have a team that likes to run an offense to wear down the opposing teams defense? Do you put a shot clock in just so the other team can get the opportunity to score? I think you play defense and get into the passing lanes and try to steal the ball. Also if you have a more athletic team playing another team that is not as athletic or fast then it forces you to play the other teams style of basketball. If you want the tempo to be picked up then start pressing or playing better defense to force the other team to turn the ball over. Defense is just as important as offense. We don't want to see these high school games turning into something like the NBA (whoever scores the most wins). I think that the T$$AA charges way too much! If you have a family and you want to go watch the state tournament you would have to dip into your savings just to go to all the games. If the T$$AA would lower some of the prices or maybe just pay one price for each day then they would have a lot more people come and watch the games. This would help the atmosphere for the state tournament. Where does all this money go too? I don't see any improvements for the students. Can anyone give any insight on this?
  13. When do they plan on making a decision? Are you sure that they want Chris to be their coach?
  14. Does anyone have any thoughts of who the new coach is going to be?
  15. I don't believe that leave is the issue. I think the issue is "forced to leave". The people at science hill are getting unhappy about not making it to the state tournament. So therefore Cutlip would be looking for a way out. If he does not find a way then he would be forced out. I think that Bill Duncan from Greeneville would fit in really good at Science Hill. He would have unlimited access to the type of players that he wants to coach. The talent pool is pretty dry at Greeneville, so who knows, he might just want to leave.
  16. That will be hard to do unless they have a player like Evans. Congratulations to Northeast on a good season.
  17. The administration "Lyle, Kent & Scott" will make a decision this week on a football coach. They probably have decided against what Ayers and Richardson wants, so therefore the reason they have been taken off the committee. I know that this scool system can not continue to make the dumb decisions they have made. I do believe they will run a lot of people off with this decision. Too bad the new coach will be starting off on the wrong foot with a lot of people.
  18. Sorry it has taken me this long to give my comments on the game that greeneville played at the state tournament. First let me say congratulations to the Lady Devils for their fourth consecutive trip to the Boro. Greeneville did not show up and bring their "A" game to the state tournament. For those who went and watched we knwo that Greeneville did not play good. They showed signs of what type of team they had been all year. I do believe that it would benefit Greeneville to schedule more athletic teams like Northeast through the season. I know that playing a team like Austin East would far more benefit us than playing a team like Wartburg. Needless to say Greeneville had a successful year and will continue to have a successful program. Good luck to the three seniors that have led Greeneville to it's most successful season in school history. You three have proved a lot of people wrong this year. Also congratulations to the three coaches that have lead this team to it's most successful season in school history. You three have also proved a lot of people wrong. I will post my final comments for this past season on day this week.
  19. Greeneville wins off of free throws.
  20. You have to give Eual some credit here of late. He has been on top of things since all the complaints. I am glad to see he has listened and adapted what he does. As a supporter it makes me feel better. I hope they can make it down and support the Lady Devils in the Boro.
  21. Bring her on. It would be nice. We do have a good replacement for carter next year in Paige Ramsey. She has played some this year and has had some bright spots.
  22. They will play at 5:30 on Thursday. Does this team have any discipline?
  23. Greeneville will have to replace three key seniors. How well they do will depend on the replacements. There is a few talented freshman that can step in a fill the gap. However with young ones you have to have a growing time. Just ask the Cocke County faithful. 1. South Greene 2. Cocke County 3. Greeneville 4. Dobbyns Bennett 5. Science Hill
  24. Yes a very good consistent program. Burkey will have that team back next year if they don't lobby to fire him.
  25. They are probably filming it this week with all the off time the basketball team has! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
