  1. Finally found a computer to use so I'll add my thoughts. Great tournament with lots of surprises and great competition so far. Oak Ridge - 0 Houston - 4 Not calling this one a surprise. Houston is for real and #25 is just a special player but they have talent everywhere I was very impressed. But I am proud of my girls for continuing to fight and love the fact that at one point we had 3 freshman and 2 sophs in our midfield holding their own just to see what they could do against and amazing squad. Hats off to Houston, you have a great team! Oak Ridge - 2 Germantown - 0 Germantown really impressed me with their organization and pace that gave us some issues early. Their keeper had a phenomal match and I think they've shown they are a dangerous squad on set pieces. A few of their corners really had me worried. Our girls bounced back after a physically and emotionally draining match to play with alot of passion and put together the most complete 80 mins I have seen all year. Considering a key player missing do to illness and asking a young player to step in that hasn't started all year or played many minutes, she had a phenomal game and I won't mention her name but she knows who she is. Again, played alot of young players that are just growing every game. Now time to rest up for Baylor. Guess the good news is I get to see a good friend in Coaching in Coach Blair. Good luck to all the rest of they way. Here is a praying for a healthy finish to a great tournament so far.

    BIG DAY!

OR and GPS was a great match. Each goal came off of some really nice soccer. Gotta give props to #9 from GPS, she went upper 90 for their second goal. Also, the keeper there is just phenomenal. She saved a PK, but also made several other huge saves in clutch situations. Also have to give credit to my girls for facing some adversity against a strong opponent and coming back to get the tie. Best of luck to GPS the rest of the way! Now we're off to Memphis!!!!!

    Euro Rankings

It all sorts itself out in the end. It causes a lot of discussion, but not worth getting too fired up about. Heck, We went from 3 to unranked and we haven't lost a game.

    Euro Rankings

I will do some digging on the rankings, I do believe these are the initial rankings for this year, but the date was not changed. In any event, all of this sorts itself out on the field, but it does make for good conversations on here.
  8. No offense taken. While it might be difficult to believe, my move to Oak Ridge came very late and it was not for lack of effort that Katie Hunter was much smaller and had fewer powerhouse teams. It took a lot of hard work by many more people than myself just to make sure we could continue this tradition to honor Katie. I moved to Oak Ridge 2 months after her passing and with both my sister and I being former Wildcat/Lady Wildcat soccer player, I refused to lose this tradition. It just means too much. And, yes, we are proud of our girls!
  9. Been working Katie Hunter this weekend and haven't been on much. But in catching up it is time to move on, I think you all know better so lets get back to talking some soccer and supporting our teams.
  10. I will get the Katie Hunter 14 results up tomorrow, been at field since 630 am and forgot score sheet. I do know that Oak Ridge won it for the first time in school history.

    Euro Rankings

On the boys side, we in AA/A actually voted as coaches each week and compiled the points. I have no part in these rankings so i can't help with how it is done on the girls side. MJ usually does a pretty good job tho

    Week 2

Did I catch them all?, if not please advise and let me know? I actually love to participate in discussions, but moderating is not fun at all

    Week 2

OTP, I restored all of the post since I didn't know which one was referred too. I will go back and erase any you would like me to remove, however, I didn't see anything to warrant deletion. I think you spoke your opinion fairly and if others disagree then they have the opportunity to do so in civil manner. Good Luck to All!!!!!

    Week 2

That is definitely my strategy in scheduling, tho I can't take all the credit on this one with coming in so late. My comment was meant as a joke. I love playing the best!!!

    Week 2

What moron set up that kinda schedule for Oak Ridge? Oh wait, my bad!
  16. Dark Arts would definitely be in the works then. But we can't forget Logan coming on board!!!!! Talk about craziness on the sidelines then.

    Week 1

hardship waivers can be applied for at anytime for an athlete. we don't know the whole circumstance around this situation so it is time to move on. MVM had it right, if you want to debate TSSAA policy on public/private or transfers, we have a place for that. Please get back on topic. I don't see the need to speak of a specific player or situation when the point of the thread was to discuss the kick start to another great season of soccer. Good Luck to all. Lets talk some soccer!!!!
  18. Thanks G, and to respond to the other post (which I know a lot of coaches are on here or fans, but I try to be honest and open) We are very young, but those girls can play. The red head you are referring to is very good and will make an impact, but please remember these girls are freshman and they are basically making a jump from u-14 to u 18 competition. I'm just glad the season is finally here after a looooooooong summer. Good luck to all!!! P.S. I just realized I'm not sure how I am going to survive not coaching during the spring. G, we should totally coach a club team together. MWAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

    Week 1

I got your back as long as it's against G. =P
  20. I think the new OR coach is Amazing!!!!! Thanks for the complement though, We had a pretty young group out there saturday with some injuries and conflicts b/c of the reschedule, but those freshman did a great job for us and I really enjoyed the match, was certainly exciting. Hope you're right about ND and OR having great seasons. Good Luck and thanks for having us down.
  21. I don't think the Irish need to worry about rankings, it's a long season to come together and if yesterday was any indication they are going to be strong. You definitely have some girls that can rip the net. 2 sweet goals, just sucks it came at our expense =P Good Luck to everyone, just happy the boards are starting up again, last year in boys was awful!!!!!
  22. Champ, be sure to say hi if you're there. Definitely look forward to coming down tomorrow!!!
  23. Many times, coaches agree to a format of play during pregame to allow everyone to be on the same page. Sometimes it changes during the course when a coach discovers something to look at that hadn't thought of before. The beauty of the scrimmages is they do not count towards anything other than what you can take away to develop your team. If you really want to win, you should be able to, but does that really help you when the true season begins? This time of year is fun to talk about, but don't put too much into it. we will all soon know more about our teams. Biggest thing is to come out healthy!!! I know I'm horrible at getting caught up in games/scrimmages and purposely map a plan that I stick to.....I've called myself an idiot more than once. =)Good luck to all, can't wait to play for real.
