  1. They would not get anything out of it because it doesn't mean anything and they don't need to play them. They already have four in-county rivals who they have to beat to win their district. In the old days it meant something but not now. Some post season for BGA. The road to state=2 post season games (one of which can be a loss) and you punch your ticket to Murfreesboro. Maybe they should play triple elimination at that classification. I think if you saw BGA play your "inferior" opinion of them might change. From what I saw this year they looked to be a pretty darn good team.
  2. My point exactly. It doesn't matter who you play or how tough your schedule is. Once you get to state all bets are off. Farragut played a great schedule and did very well but the end result was not what they wanted becuase they were not on against H'ville. They lost.
  3. In the last 3 years the 88s have only had 3 players join their team. Out of the 18 players on the team 11 of them have been with TNFC for atleast 5 years. They have no national players but a few regional players. congrats to TNFC on almost all of the players that wanted to play college getting that chance. Can anyone give them a run in state?
  4. Right. I don't see the logic to that but I sure there must be some. I guess Farragut ought to schedule BGA too.
  5. Doesn't seem like Brentwood would get anything out of playing BGA. Even if they won they wouldn't win. Kind of like Hendersonville playing JP2 or Houstong playing Christian Brothers. Nothing in it for the AAA schools.
  6. Bearden was the better team this game. Maybe taking two exams and riding in hot school bus had more to do with their performance than their easy. Got to quit playing Tullahoma in the future I suppose. But I passed Physics and Calc!
  7. Yea, I think Farragut and Houston ought to schedule harder teams too, maybe they would get better results in the state tournament.
  8. There isnt a team in the state that compares to TNFC88 in any age group. They as of now are ranked 6 in the country, not only that but almost there entire team is playing college soccer at major schools. i Was wondering if someone could tell me how many years in a row they have won state?
  9. Thats cool rock, just messin with your head.
  10. Since when is anything a simple yes or no? I take it, Mr. Rock, that you are not playing?
  11. Of course they can be beat. To say a team can't at this time of year is not realistic. Given the right circumstances any of the eight contenders for the AAA title can take it all home. It would be hard to say any game would really be an upset.
  12. Ranking the teams from 1-8 and seeding for the tourney could have looked like this. Would have kept your, arguably, four top teams from squaring off against each other the first round. 1. Houston 2. Brentwood 3. Hendersonville 4. Bearden 5. Riverdale 6. Farragut 7. Ridgeway 8. Ooltewah Houston vs. Ooltewah Brentwood vs. Ridgeway Hendersonville vs. Farragut Bearden vs. Riverdale Not going to happen but would have been interesting to see. Too many subjectivities to do it without making it seemed biased one way or the other but might be better than a blind draw. Whoever comes out on top will have to play three really good games, get some breaks, get a little lucky and be peaking at the right time.
  13. Nununu you don't have a clue about Brentwood. If you don't care for the singing of the National Anthem that is your problem, whatever the context. Seems like you have a serious socioeconomic inferiority complex based on perceptions that are not in touch with reality.
  14. Only in America can you get blasted for singing the National Anthem. Interestingly enough neither Antioch not Glencliff choose to play the National Anthem before games or display the American flag. You folks need to get over it. As for displays of unsporting behavior, it happens, it isn't the norm, but it happens. Talk a little bit more about the positive things that go on. For all of our "guests" in this country, please be thankful you have the ability to express yourselves without worry about negative repercussions or punishment. It was a tough hard fought game between two good soccer teams, lets leave it at that.
  15. I will congratulate Brentwood on their 3-0 victory over Antioch on yesterday. Was closely contested until Antioch ran out of gas in the second half. My gripe against Brentwood was the lack of class displayed by fans and players. In these times, I believe it was unwarranted for a parent/supporter of Brentwood to tell some of the Antioch fans to "Go back to Mexico." This was a harsh and racist comment, and the fact that he said to an individual from Bosnia just added to the fire. After this situation was calmed down, the Brentwood soccer decided to do a rounding rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner." While their coaches had nothing to say about them doing this. The student population does consist of many nationalities, and yes as an educator at Antioch, we learn to deal with lots of different cultures. I was very offended at the actions of the so-called "upper class," to allow such words and comments to even pass their lips shows where our country is. Nowhere. We have not moved forward in any instance, the focus has just shifted from one group of minorities to another. How can we allow our children to perpetuate the cycle that so many of our adults have tried to break. Brentwood played with a lot of class on the field, but off of it, their actions should have not been allowed, and were disgusting. First off brentwood would like to apologize for any misunderstanding after the game last night. It has been a BHS tradition for 5 years to sing the star spangled banner along with many other songs on the bus ride home after a big win. It was never ment to be racist, but i can understand how it could be perceived as being so. Antioch was one of the best teams brentwood has faced all year and brentwood was excited after the game. As for the fan if that happened, it in no way refelcts on the feelings of the BHS program
  16. Cheek park is right behind franklin high school that is where the game is.
  17. He coached at Akron and Clemson. In 1986 he was NCAA coach of the year. In 2004 inducted into hall of fame. He is widly regaurded as one of the top coachs in the country and has more connections than any other person in TN soccer. He might be qualified to coach franktown
  18. the centennial brentwood game was a good one for about 50 mins. The refs were awful. Jeff Gilis and steven fox the 2 refs for the game are spineless and were not able to keep the game under control. I was amazed that the refs in a knock out game could ever be so poor. Their poor judgment on calls led to a broken ankle and many other chances for possible injury. The amazing thing was the PK awarded to Brentwood in the 80 min, far weaker the many of the calls that were so badly missed, it was a failed attmept to try to show that they had some control over the game. I would like to take this opportunity to warn any players playing under these officials watch out for yourself beacuse these refs certinly dont have the abilty to keep a game under control.
  19. does anyone know how the distric tourny is going to shape up
  20. what needs to happwn for lavergne to beat b wood and does anyone think it can happen
  21. We have played both teams as well and BGA should dominate. the top 5 players on the field are all playing for BGA (Dustan Dawes-Wade Wonderlan-Jason Bristal-Taylor preston-Stephen Morsay. so im going to give FRHS a little credit and say they only lose by 3
  22. It was a great game. H vill controled most of the play but brentwood had more shots and cornors. both teams hit the post in the game and both missed chances to finish.
  23. its going to be a great game. and if u take anything from last year it should be that what happens on thurs means very little when it comes to the state tourny. Hvill is not having a slow start right now they r just playing tough teams, and bwood might have a weak schedule but until the state tourny they are still state champs. its going to be a great game no matter who wins O and 1 more thing y does everybody think its going to be a high scoring game both teams have great Ds as well
  24. com on man whats with this post. I happen to know of a girls team that trains harder than any other guys team i know. if we can plat y cant they?
