Every year this post is started and from what i can remeber Franklin hasnt beat breantwood in atleast 4 years maby longer. Is there any real point in discussing this anymore?

Sad situation. Every girl who practiced and helped the team become state champions should be rewarded with a ring. To deprive the kids of a lifetime memory seems pretty cold hearted. Someone is surely not thinking the situation through carefully.

It doesn't make sense for a college coach to come to a high school game to watch one or two players. High school teams have kids from Under 14 to Under 19 playing on the same team. Talent is developed at the club level, talent is present at both levels. A high school team has varying degrees of skill among players that would not really appeal to a college coach. They are looking for players that have potential to play at the college level, and going to a club tournament makes a whole lot more sense. Most players on most high school teams don't aspire to play at the next level. It doesn't have to be a put down of the high school programs.

You seem really down on the high school game. Are there opportunities available for those players who want a higher level than high school during the high school season? I'm not sure if there are teams or even individual kids that don't play high school ball but maybe that is something someone would want to consider doing.

How many high school soccer coaches are there in Tennessee? Just seems the statement about "less than a dozen" seems to be a pretty arbitrary number. Any info that is a little more concrete?

In Williamson County every AD is a teacher and many are also coaches. No school can just go out and get anyone to be the AD unless he is going to also be a faculty member.

State tournament official game stats leave a lot to be desired.

Congrats to siegel. I will eat the crow and not complain. Siegel got the job done. Sounds like it was a pretty good game. Hard to lose but the Rebels will be back.

Who would want to be the head coach when his Athletic Director is the ex head coach? A pretty weird situation if you ask me. Potential for some built in strife from the get go.

Doubt that they will play each other. If either of these teams is looking to a rematch they won't get that far. Franklin may just may have more than Siegel is expecting.

Rankings don't mean a thing at this point actually at any point. Goal difference and records have no bearing on what will happen in this game or any other in the tournament. Siegel may beat Frankiln, maybe, but they won't take the big prize this year.

Siegel may upset Franklin but they will not win state.
