Upperman will not beat White House. White House should win by 20+. If Goodpasture beats LA...it will be an 8-AA sweep. No disrespect intended.....just my opinion.

Kurt Caton...only a Junior...certainly put on a show.....on both ends of the floor. Hope to see an 8-AA sweep next week........

All I know is the girls play on Monday...boys on Tuesday.....no times yet. I will post if I find out.

No question LA has a good team this year and are playing some inspired basketball right now. They really don’t have any superstars, so to speak, but have a team full of winners. They are also well coached and play extremely hard. With that being said…..last year LA had a very good team as well but was beaten by the # 4 seed out of 8-AA, Greenbrier on their home court in the first round. This year LA will have to travel and play regular season 8-AA champion Goodpasture in the first game. Goodpasture suffered 2 upsets in their district tournament to Greenbrier and White House. This is not good news for LA fans. My point being….with no disrespect to anyone….. 8-AA is still a much stronger district overall. Your comment about LA only have problems with Goodpasture is off base. The # 4 seed Greenbrier won the 8-AA tournament this year. Station Camp and White House are very good teams and they have all played strong schedules. LA would…or will have a tough time with any one of these 4 teams. But LA has as good a shot as anybody to advance….it just won’t be easy. Like you said….it’s tournament time….and anything can happen. Who ever does advance to the substate will get the pleasure of facing the # 1 team in the state McMinn Central (29-1) or Howard (24-5). Good luck to all the teams in region 4-AA. It should be a fun tournament.

Hume Fogg does have a good team...but they are no longer in 8-AA. The top 4 teams in 8-AA are Goodpasture, Station Camp, White House and Greenbrier. Greenbrier (the 4 seed) upset top seeded Goodpasture (23-4) on Monday in the semis and will play Station Camp for the championship tonight. White House and Goodpasture will play for the 3rd and 4th seed in the region. All 4 of these 8-AA teams are pretty good. LA will more than likely play a very solid White House team in the first round.

What time and which gym do they play in Friday night?

Station Camp has a very good basketball team....this should be a fun game to watch. Go finish what you started...........

Last night #4 seed Greenbrier upset #1 seed Goodpasture in the 8-AA semi finals 73-66 in a classic shoot out at White House. Goodpasture got off to a 12-0 start before Greenbrier clawed their way back into it with a flurry of 3 point shots. Senior guard Geoffrey Sanders came off the bench to hit 4-3’s in the second quarter and 6 for the game, finishing with 20 points. While Goodpasture concentrated on Greenbrier’s big men it opened up the outside for the Greenbrier guards to hit 12-3 pointers for the game. Junior Kurt Caton led Greenbrier with 21 points icing the game with clutch FT’s down the stretch. Zach Frey for Goodpasture led all scorers with 37 points including 2 treys. C. J. Davis finished with a hard earned 15 points as Greenbrier kept tight rains on the sharp shooting junior all night. This was a clean hard fought high school basketball game played with good sportsmanship by both teams. Greenbrier will face Station Camp in the Championship game Thursday night (8:15 PM) at White House. Goodpasture will play White House in the consolation game for regional seeding. Good luck to all 4 teams.

They are calling for 2-4 inches of snow in Middle TN tonight after midnight. First...sleet....ice...then snow with cold temps tomorrow....... Will they ever be able to finish playing the TNT?

Coach Mathis deserves "Coach of the Year" in 8-AA. I don't care where they finished in the district. He has done a marvelous job with that program.

I saw Lipscomb play undefeated Springfield in the first round. They won by 19...I think. They are not quite as big in the post as last years team, but are still your typical Lipscomb team...very fundamental, excellent man defense, hustle and shoot well. I like the Sanderson kid. Unfortunately for Lipscomb the 5-A class is loaded this year. The have to play an undefeated (2 years) Cleveland team Saturday night. Should they pull the upset over Cleveland...they would more than likely play undefeated MBA in the championship. MBA had already beaten Lipscomb twice this year. It's the most competitive TNT bracket ever.

Crackerhead10....for some reason you are having a hard time comprehending. Let me see if I can make it clear for you.....please READ carefully. Springfield's JV team has NOT played Greenbrier's JV team (16-2). Springfield's JV has ONLY played Greenbrier's FRESHMAN team. Greenbrier's FRESHMAN beat Springfield's JV by 11 the last game. Darden refuses to play a REAL JV vs. JV game. He will only play Greenbrier's FRESHMAN...NOT their JV team. From what I was told.. the Springfield vs. Greenbrier VARSITY game will be made up Wednesday Feb. 15th. Girls game starts at 6:00 PM. There is NO JV game scheduled.......Why? Please re-read the above post. Good luck to both VARSITY teams.

Please show me where I called you a bunch of “classless punks”? I thought the first post and the title of this thread was classless and uncalled for…..and it is. I also did not mention anything about his spelling or punctuation……but it was pathetic. Read more thoroughly before you post. As a fan of high school athletics I don’t like all the taunting, show boating, official complaining, and jawing that I witnessed at the first Springfield vs. Greenbrier game. I don’t think there is any place for that kind of stuff in high school athletics. You can have a healthy rivalry between two teams and still show class. Act like you have been there before. I don’t remember seeing any Greenbrier players acting out last year after they beat you like some of your players did this year. And yes…Darden hates to lose to Greenbrier. And yes….he did run up the score. And yes... he will run it up again if he gets the chance. My guess is he wouldn’t have even scheduled Greenbrier this year if he thought he may lose. He knew he was going to have a good team and he knew Greenbrier lost 7 seniors. I don’t expect any team to hold the ball for 2 quarters to keep the score down, but I also don’t think any team should be pressing late (all the way under a minute to play) in the 4th quarter up 30 points. When teams or coaches do these things mentioned above, like behavior problems, pressing in the 4th with a big lead, starting a taunting thread on Coacht……fans tend to form negative opinions. Questions for you: Is Springfield going to play Greenbrier in a JV game Tuesday? Why doesn’t Springfield play East Robertson or Jo Byrns in basketball? Why doesn’t Springfield play Greenbrier in football? I know the answers……do you? Once again….Springfield has a good basketball team this year. Congratulations. I even picked Springfield to compete for the 10-AAA title when everybody else was picking them near the bottom. But the bottom line is….have some class about it. It’s alright to be excited about your team….but this whole thread is ridiculous. And yes…..show some class win or lose. Quit embarrassing your school and your team.

Do you ever have anything nice to say? All 10...or so of your posts have been negative in some way.....either towards other teams or players. Your lack of knowledge is embarrassing your school. I suggest you read the board rules and try again.

Cleveland will have their hands full with a very solid David Lipscomb team this weekend. If they don't get upset by DL, they will face undefeated MBA in the finals. MBA will not lose in the upper bracket. This will be a classic championship game between two unbeatens. Trust me...MBA will play Cleveland close and are very capable of winning.

Friday night: Greenbrier-44 Sequatchie County-29 Saturday: Greenbrier-27 Cleveland-52 Cleveland has not lost a game in 2 years and appears to be the front runner to win the 5-A bracket. They will face a solid David Lipscomb team next weekend in the semi finals. Lipscomb defeated an undefeated Springfield team by 19. An MBA vs. Cleveland Championship would be fun to watch.
