  1. So why are you in it.....................Merely stating facts to support Lance's earlier comment.
  2. There was a game Central was playing when the downpour came and Central was winning 9-0. However, the coach did not want to get his ACE pitcher hurt nor any of the other players so he had her pitch batting practice basically so they could put the ball in play to get the outs. It was way to slippery to risk her slipping and hurting her ankle or back with districts back home nearing. Fortunately for that team they got some hits but it was worth giving up some runs in order to not hurt any players.
  3. Do you doubt the radar guns.................ask the pitcher's Dad from Oak Ridge that clocked Kandace Irwin. I was sitting behind the radar gun when he held it up and showed it to us including her mother with whom I was sitting. Give credit where credit is due!
  4. Brittany Webb of Knox Central is leading the PREP EXTRA with 8 home runs this season.
  5. I am curious as to what game you think you saw Kandace Irwin get hammered 7-0? I don't believe there has been one, please let me know what game you thought you were at? Central has lost a game 7-0 but not with Kandace Irwin pitching the entire game. Were you possibly at Hall's a few weeks ago. Irwin didn't complete the game due to the fact that the defense behind her couldn't cleanly field or catch a ball so why should the coach pitch his best when his best wasn't behind her. There were 4 errors in 1 inning that caused 3 runs to score, however you didn't see that in the papers because the stats weren't reported correctly. Central simply did not show up to play ball that night and the errors proved it!!!!
  6. Kandace has been clocked recently at around 67-68......that's the realistic speed. And you are very right on the money when you talk about her drop curve!!!

    Grand slams

    Brittany Webb of Knox Central has hit 1 Grand Slam and 4 Homeruns. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  8. Sounds like a question for the Farragut coach. It was a great game last night with only 1 error committed the entire night. The error by the way was never a deciding factor in the game. Central was able to get 2 of their hits bunched together. With 1 out Irwin singled and was advanced to 2nd with a sacrifice bunt by Lawson, with 2 outs Webb was able to go with the outside pitch for a double which scored the courtesy runner Hatfield, which in the end was the game winning run. Central played a great game of defense last night, really both teams did. Both pitchers did a great job as well. I felt like the added touch to the game was the Pep Band Farragut provided! Great job Lady Admirals (parents & players) & Lady Bobcats (players & parents).

    3 AAA

I know most of them but not all of them but here are the ones I can remember: Tournament MVP Jessica Dillon of Karns All Tourny Team: Kandice Irwin Central Brittany Webb Central Ashley Rutledge Central Tia Blosser Karns Lauren Varsalona Karns Sarah Sutphin Powell Sasha Russell Halls There was another player from Karns and another one from Powell. Sorry girls I am getting old and I can't seem to remember who else made All Tourny players. If anyone else knows please include their names.
  10. The News Sentinel messed it up ..... it was most definitely Kandice Irwin! WBIR was there and captured the moment and aired it on the 11:00 news Wednesday night and the following morning. I understand the Karns coach and the other pitcher's parent called in to let the News Sentinel know what they had done. That's class guys giving credit where credit is due!!!

    3 AAA

Halls was eliminated by Powell in the bottom of the 9th inning by an error from Halls. Central and Karns played a great game but Karns scored in the top of the 7th inning. Central will play Powell tonight at 6:00. Some Powell folks said that is the only game tonight. Whichever team wins tonight will have to beat Karns twice for the Championship.
  12. Tuesday's Results Karns 4 Powell 3 Central 2 Halls 0
  13. Should be a good night of ball out in Powell!
  14. The following ladies were chosen as the 3-AAA All District Team: Central : Kandice Irwin, Brittany Webb, Ashley Rutledge, Erica Witt, Chelsea Griffin Karns : Tia Blosser, Vanessa Satterfield, Megan Weigel, Jessica Dillon Powell : Cassidy Skeen, Brittany Craft, Heather Broyles Clinton : Samantha Miller Halls : Sasha Russell, Morgan Bartlett Campbell County : Heather Cox West : Jayme Watson Oak Ridge : Leah Fritts Great job ladies! Keep playing great ball and have fun doing it!!!
  15. I agree with you VTEC, enough of Halls! There are some folks out there that keep saying there are 2 sides to every story but the real ironic thing is they don't know the other side so they need to move on and let things they don't know about rest! Glad to hear that district is competing so well, should be interesting when State comes around for this area.
  16. Very Good observation Walktheline22!!!!
  17. If the Powell pitcher is out due to grades and attendance, how can she be back shortly after spring break? If there are grade issues there are still several weeks left in the grading period. If there are attendance issuses how does that get taken care of shortly after spring break? Sorry, I just don't understand.
  18. Probably a combination from what I hear. Rumor has it that is was said Halls only has a JV team because vendicitive parents took all of the good players. I know alot of those players and parents and they weren't the vendictive ones. In which the 2 that would have been seniors this year have signed scholorships due to the hard work of thier summer team coaches. I have noticed the annual rivalry between Gibbs and Halls is no more this year. Why would that game be dropped from the schedule I wonder. Farragut doesn't grace thier schedule either. I agree to be better you need a quality schedule! The Lady Vols Hoops is a great example!
  19. No, Kee was an outfielder, and an excellent one at that. She was never given the opportunity to play SS at Halls. She sometimes played catcher. I would say Carol Mitchell is thrilled to have her. Halls is definitely hurting without her and the other starting players that are no longer there. Their lefty pitcher is the only returning starter that will grace the field for them. But like Coach23 stated earlier.......I hope he gets what he asked for!!
