  1. So Smyrna is next up for the KEES. I also hear that Gray did not pitch in their win tonight. I will be @ this game tomorrow. I look forward to seeing this kid pitch. I have heard nothing but praise for him on this forum. Keep rollin KEES. We are pulling hard for you around here.
  2. No Cody did not bat against DB or anyone else this year. He will do what is right for his rehab. Man though. I would have enjoyed seeing him hit this year.
  3. SD up 8 ZIP in the 4th. Bell on the mound allowing 1 hit. Freshman Kirkland has gone YARD. Bell helps himself with a MONSTER HR. SD hitters are crushing the BALL. OH and GO KEEEEEEEEEEEES!
  4. The problem is that these (F)antastic (F)ireballing (F)ellows (F)ail to get looks because of southern location in Knoxville. Your friendly caveman that does not wear blue and silver glasses, Sir Admiral.
  5. I agree. I may have to get one of those Memphis Tiger hats to wear. (Baseball only of course) /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  6. I am not on the inside enough to know what offers were there, but I do believe he was overlooked by teams in our area if you know what I mean. He signed after Zurk and before Holland. Memphis will get 3 solid players. 2 left handed pitchers that have good stuff and a kid that would have made the ESPN top plays consistently in Zurk at SS.
  7. Cody wants too really bad. I don't think the doc will release him. Maybe he could be like Gibson and Eckersly. That wolud be sweet.
  8. And 1 more thing while I am on a roll. I have seen a lot of Memphis Tiger apparel popping up here in South Knoxville. Bell, Holland, and Zurcher will be playing for the Tigers. Observe them at state this week and let me know what Memphis saw in them that (others) didn't. Cody will be playing for Arkansas next year and he is one of the best hitters I have ever seen since the age of 12.
  9. I knew I would forget someone. White is a junior I think and he was missed. We all missed seeing Cody hit this year. These two are still part of this team and should share in all their triumphs. 5 D1 signees and 3 D2 signees show how strong this class is. Too bad 3 of the guys have to go to the other end of the state to play D1 ball and 1 stays in the SEC, just no here. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  10. Hey jmu what was Smyrnas record this year? My bracket doesn't show it. Both brackets appear tough. I have seen Science Hill and Bartlett play and they are very good. I have heard about Gray from Smyrna, but not much else. Of course I am partial to South Doyle, but don't know much about the other teams. I would assume if they are here they are good. OH and GOOOOO KEEEEES!
  11. Am I the only Cherokee fan that posts here? I know their are others who watch and live vicariously /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> We are so proud of you guys and you are the BUZZ of this community. Anything you do at state will only be extra from the memories of this season. Central High has a picture of their state champ baseball team hanging in their gym. Guys like Todd Helton, Bubba Trammel, Freeman, Bolton. We hope to look back in the future and see your picture up, with our kids saying Look it's Bell, Holland, Brentz, Zurcher, Conley, Fowler, Roberts, Turpin, Haun, Kirkland, Fear, Baker Coaches Howard, Browning, Norris, Jacobs and other faces that we may not know well now that will be a part of this team. Good luck guys and OH by the way GOOOOOOOOO KEEEEEEES! Show them what you are made of.
  12. David I really hope that "Beano" in you is finally right. If it does happen who would you pick?
  13. Thanks DBmom. The Cherokees hope to keep the state championship in East Tennessee. You are correct when you say all to be commended. I know it was a hard game for the DB fans to sit through, but they continued to lift their team late when Bell looked unhitable. These guys have too been talked about since they were 12 years old and it is great to see 8 great seniors have a chance to do something no major sports team has at SD and that is a state championship. OH and GOOOOOOO KEEEEEES We are all so proud of you.
  14. Hey David. My South Doyle Cherokees are heading to the BORO Tuesday. Is it true that the mighty Oakland team lost tonight?
  15. Way to go GIBBS. Two teams out of Knoxville baseball going to STATE. OH and by the way GOOOOOOOO KEEEEEEES! and now Eagles!
  16. I have said it before on this forum and I will say it again. Weekend tournies and non district matchups are rarely indicitive of a teams talent. I don't think Bell pitched against DB because they saved him fo games against Farragut/William Blount/Bearden/Maryville. I can't see how you could blame your coach tonight. You give Chad a 1 or 2 run lead and you are in real trouble. Between Chad and Ryan in the district/regionals/sectionals they probably only allowed 3 or 4 runs. They probably struck out 50 or 60 batters. (Where is STAT person DBmom when you need those stats /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> And this does not even count fireballer Brentz in the mix. Coach Howard and Browning have utilized this pitching rotation all regular season to optimize their teams standings in the all important district. I think the toughest top to bottom in the state.
  17. Final SOUTH DOYLE 8 DB 0. OH and GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO KEEEEEEEEEEEEEES /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  18. South Doyle Cherokees are heading to the BORO after a dominating performance over Kingsport DB 8-0. Chad Bell had a 12 K, 1 hit performance. 6 runs in the first inning off bombs by E (Conley) Freshman Kirkland and the winning pitcher and Memphis signee Chad Bell. Oh and by the way GOOOOO KEEEES. Congrats to class act Coach Howard and Browning. Now go to the Boro and show them who you are.
  19. Headed to the game. Gotta get their early expecting big crowd. Play hard Kees and play clean. Legends are still out there to be made. OH and GOOOOOOOOO KEEEEEEEEEES! No matter what you seniors have been a joy to watch for the last few years.
  20. The Governors have a really good team. South Doyle just seems to have their number or you might say Holland has it. These two remind me of Farragut/ Halls matchup a few years back. They played each other all the way to the finals and finished 1 and 2. Good luck WB against what looks like Science Hill Friday night. OH and GOOOO KEEEES!
  21. South Doyle won their 4th straight game against a tough William Blount team. Holland on the hill allowed 2 hits and had 10 K's for the 5-2 win. Power supplied by SS Zurcher with a 2 run CF bomb and 2 moon shots by Brentz. SD defense turned 2 DPs and Holland Kd 2 to end the 6th with runners at 2nd & 3rd. SD is at home Friday night awaiting loser of DB and Science Hill. I here Science Hill is winning. Any scores on this game, and would like to here from Gibbs/ Seymour game. Oh and GOOOOO KEEEES!
  22. South Doyle 5 William Blount 2
  23. Who are DBs top three pitchers? L? R? Who is their offensive stars? I have not seen them play yet.
