I am interested to see how well Sweetwater has recovered from losing so many seniors from last year's squad. I guess I'll find out Tuesday when we (Polk) host them in a double header. Anybody know anything about Tellico? How are they doing?

Someone please tell me what's going on in District 5AA? With me coaching at Polk Co. I never get to see anyone else play or hear about their games unless its on CoachT. I know McMinn Central's for real but that is about it.

Is the same Hammontree that used to coach at Maryville before Quarles?

I was just wondering how things look for Walker Valley in their new district and in AAA overall. I was thinking they would be contending for the district championship but I am unfamiliar with some of the teams in their district. It looks like Coach Doan has put together a tough schedule which should help in the long run.

Copper Basin is a very young team. They had several eighth and ninth graders that started last year. They are improved from years past. Pitching is okay. They play hard and don't quit. Their hitters make decent contact but no power. (all this is based on what I saw last year)

Who knows what we'll (Polk Co.) do. We beat Sequoyah 17-5 yesterday and only 1-0 today. We've got to be more consistent!

Polk County pounded out 17 hits en route to a 17-5 win over district foe Sequoyah. Sophmores Rebecca Laycock, Sophia Badillo and Briztana Woody lead the way at the plate with several other Lady Wildcats contributing.

The Rock, Our girls look pretty good. We had a good showing this weekend and hopefully we have worked all the kinks out. Hitting will be key. We'll find out today with our district opener against Sequoyah. We play them tomorrow at home too. Come check it out!

From the schedules I have looked at on TSSAA I think Meigs, McMinn Central and Copper Basin. Not sure of who else.

Yeah, my name is Elisha Rogers and I do coach softball at PCHS. I do teach students, quite well I might add and so does my husband. We have done nothing but defend a person who has done nothing to deserve what has happened. We never said we hated it here. Okay, but what if that senior was taking a spot on the roster that could have been filled by someone younger but just as good. If you want to win you put the best on the team. Keeping dead weight around can drag a team down. However, who knows this exact situation and I think the coach should be commended for coming in and doing what she thinks is right. Lots of times parents have a very difficult time handling it when a new coach comes in and things change.

Amabala, You need to open your eyes. Apparently you can't see how corrupt this school system is. If you need examples I can provide them. YOU need to get off your high horse and on to another thread. Bottom line Coach Stone is a good man and good coach. Maybe being fired will be the best thing for him. Oh, and the director of schools, super, man in charge-whatever-did what he was told. After all he has a lot of promises to fill. From the way you sound you must be apart of the good old boys. That's fine defend them all day long. Everyone knows how it works.

You're right dismissal from coaching is never political! At least in most places! Look it really doesn't matter what Coach Stone did or didn't do. Polk County has a history for doing people dirty and it all goes back to politics. What ever the case is they need to drop this "we're going in a different direction" crap and just give a reason. It's been nearly a month and nothing yet.
