  1. Sour grapes? What am I jealous of? All those state-championship rings? Haha. Join the real world, wacko, and realize that D-B has won nothing, and the reason is because of the few guys like you who talk the talk, preventing you from walking the walk. Good luck to D-B this year, loads of talent and good kids. Just a shame fans like you expand your egos, causing many to dislike these innocent kids. Call them "DB haters" but in their ignorance, they're just "Certain DB fan haters."
  2. All right, wacko, let's be logical in admittance that D-B has always had a better coaching staff than Jeff on the grid-iron.... But diamond-speaking, there's a new general running the show and an evolved swagger that will disable any team(yes, even your Indians, who single-handedly seem to give you reason to wake up in the morning) to look past them. Should be a great match-up and renew the rivalry that has been lob-sided for too long.
  3. How good is D-B? Every year the Tribe is "good." This year should exemplify the same result. But here's my definition of "good." -- better than average, less than great. So, keep it up, Indians. Beat the "I'm just glad to play baseball" teams, but live with your own inferiorority in competition with the elite.
  4. ....And Greeneville placed where exactly in the toruney? Very illogical response, devil-mom.
  5. Why delete my reply, kev? Anyway, Jeff. really hit on all cylinders against Gibbs last night. Belcher held his mistakes to a minimal on the mound and a balanced offensive attack led the Pats to an 11-3 win. The Pats look determined to win this year, having a bit of a swagger about them. Can someone tell me how the rest of the IMAC looks early on?
  6. One tournament this summer. The big one.
  7. Gladly. I'll give you a couple hints as to who I am and who I play for, to test your intelligence. I like to be in the center of things and have acceptional national pride. Take a guess.
  8. Well, I don't play for Powell, but yes, big win for them. As much as I hate to say it, way to be classy in your loss tonight. People admire that type of leadership and integrity. Wish you the best...until you play my team.
  9. Dude, there it is--why use the word "paco" at the end of your sentence? Is that supposed to be pejorative? Or just plain prejudice? Confidence is when you know that you can perform well; arrogance is when you are condescending and think that you are better than others because you know that you can perform well. Trying to use an epithet to put someone down is arrogance; using this particular name as an epithet is even worse, it shows arrogant prejudice. BTW, just so you understand, here's arrogance and prejudice at work--you might want to use a dictionary to look up "pejorative", "prejudice", and "epithet"--you do go to Halls, don't you? I'll apologize to Halls when you apologize to Latinos everwhere. I wonder how a certain catcher who wears orange to work would feel about a future teammate who thinks that using a Hispanic name is a way of putting someone down.
  10. Jeff Co. plays its first game of the season tonight vs. Heritage at 5:00.
  11. THAT was even an arrogant statement. lol. Anyway, I never said you, in general, were arrogant. I said you can be arrogant sometimes, and you prove my point when you get upset over my small statement.
  12. How do you know me? I'm not from Halls, nor even the Knoxville area,
  13. There is such a thing as "class," Insider. I love the confidence he expresses in his team, but sometimes that confidence evolves into arrogance, as proven in earlier posts. He and his team know they have the God-given ability to make a return trip to state, but will they take the initiative in working harder than anyone else to achieve that goal instead of merely talking about the natural gifts given to them? .....I guess we'll see.
  14. Saturday's play-day at Halls showed that Jeff. Co. can play with the best in the area. They traded hits all afternoon with the Red Devils in a deceiving 7-2 loss. A couple less errors and a couple more timely hits won the game for the home team.
  15. I didn't bash any of your pitchers, Emis. I merely stated the obvious, people know catapano, lockwood, holland, story because they've had success, they win. I don't even know who your ace is, and that is exactly my point.
  16. He throws high 80's, has a sharp curveball, and will lead his team are factually based responses to a compliment someone gave. Excuse me for stating facts, recognizing the talent of a player.
  17. But can those names you mentioned hit quality pitching? I guess time will tell. The only hits they had off of Story yesterday were swinging bunts or should-have-been-called-errors by right-fielders. If I said 5, I meant 4. please excuse me. I've heard from some of the SD boys that Conley has found his rhythm throwing strikes now. He throws 85 and has always been a competitor. I played with Moneymaker over the summer, he's worked hard and has improved tremendously. He threw a shut-out at the perfect game world series in Jupiter. Over the summer, Bell looked tough. Doesn't throw hard but is smart and hits spots well. Holland.90 mph lhp.....all that needs to be said on him.
  18. Yeah, his velocity has elevated into the high 80's and he throws his curveball hard with a sharp break. Hits his spots, too, though he missed his outside location on that missle you lumbered. Haha. Jeff Co. will go as far as he leads them as a pitcher and as a hitter.
  19. Sure, DB has some great hitters returning this year, but you've heard the saying a thousand times, "Defense wins championships." And the most vital part of the defense is its pitching. When remniscing on past sub-state winners, the best pitching around was crowned victor. Larsen from Halls, Catapano from Farragut, Waldrop from Farragut a couple years ago. Some starter from DB is REALLY REALLY going to have to step up and shut some tough line-ups down before they can claim to be the best. DB fans, think logically. Catapano of Farragut, Lockwood of Halls, Holland of South Doyle, and Story of Jefferson County are all BY FAR better than anything you've got returning, from what I've seen. "Best team in the World"...Give me a break.
  20. Plenty of premiere teams makes their case for a state appearance this year. Having seen Halls, Farragut, and South Doyle already this year, top to bottom South Doyle is the best of the trifecta. Halls' line-up drops off after Borum, Lockwood, and Lucas big time. Pitching can still carry them. Farragut has the best pitcher I've seen from TN in Catapano, who single-handedly will keep his team in every game with his pitching and leadership. South Doyle has it all. 5 pitchers who are capable of making hitters look silly on a consistent basis, led by Holland, their 88-90 mph lefty. And a tough line-up that handed Catapano his first high school loss last season. This year's sleeper is Jefferson County. I saw their game with Halls yesterday and Jeff Co. looked tough. Maybe Dobyns-Bennett should worry about their regional matchup before they talk about beating the Knoxville teams in sub-state(which they stil haven't done.) or better yet, worry about Science Hill in their conference tournament. Should be a great year for baseball. A lot more evenly matched teams than in years past.
  21. OK, Striper, you're the innocent victim and have no blame in the matter. (verbal irony.) Anyway, good luck this season and furthermore, at the University of Tennessee.
  22. Hey, Lockwood, maybe you should displace this, 'We're greater than everyone' attitude and maybe you won't have so many enemies on this site. Everyone knows Halls can compete with the best the state has to offer, but you need a reality check in admittance that South Doyle has gained experience from last year and it will be a great match-up this year, instead of denoting them as a lesser team that they obviously aren't. Any given day, anyone can be crowned victor, so my best advice is to work hard and keep your mouth closed, staying focused on what's important( baseball, not trash-talking) because it would be a rough night for you if you don't reach your goals this season and have to eat some of these words you repeatedly so casually and arrogantly type.
  23. Rob competed in the 18 yr old perfect game world series as a 17 year old last summer and defeated the highest rated team according to Baseball America, the East Cobb Braves, who had four draftees in their lineup. The Admirals will once again compete with anyone in the state as long as Rob is their ace hurler. In addition, they return a few capable sticks in their lineup and are, as always, well coached. Farragut will, once again, be a state-contender, but not without a knock-down dragout scuffle with teams such as SD, Halls, DB, SH, Jeff. Co who all return great line-ups and aces who are very capable of shutting down hitters on a consistent basis. Should be a fun year.
  24. All right, well at least my name (bigtimeGLOVE) refers to baseball. Boxn1 is a basketball term, genius. I wasn't trying to say that Rutledge is awful. All I was saying was that they don't play a tough schedule and that Halls is one of the elite teams in the state and shouldn't have had a problem with them. I don't feel that I need to pridefully explain to everyone who I play for because we're getting our talking done on the field, as we do yearly. Get your facts straight boxn1, or should i say box-n-NONE since we're calling people names like 3rd graders.
