The last several times Metro tried going outside the system they got burned. People say Metro should go outside, Metro does, only to be told never mind I am withdrawing my name from consideration. Because of this I would say Metro stays in the system. People with interest may be Hemontoler (spelling may not be correct), Moreno formerly of HL now at Hillsboro, Thompson formerly of Maplewood, Murray of Glencliff, Pigue formerly of East Lit as assistant, Baskin of Hillsboro as assistant, and I wouldnt rule out Brunetti of Pearl Cohn.

Guess Indy didnt have the advantage after all. Great season by Indy. Who won between McGavock and Ravenwood?

TDC---Thanks for correcting me. I was thinking it was WS against Brentwood but that was the semis and Maryville against WS was the finals. Sorry. Still Riverdale had a good year. That was my point.

Yet another who will not tell us who it is but wants to tell me where and what to post! Yes, DA Greenmule, I did graduate from Smyrna 40 YEARS ago! Son was a decent football player for R'dale and YES he does have his State Championship ring. Boy started three of the four years he played for Coach Rankin. The school he roots for now is Oakland as that is where the majority of his coaches are at. He does not do much rooting now as he just got back from Iraq last year and now is an instructor at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. When he graduated from R'dale he was the executive officer of the ROTC unit there and is the ONLY one to play football and be active in ROTC for all 4 years. During his junior and Senior year his day started at school at 6 AM and did not end until football practice was over about 7PM. As he did not drive then I was the one who took him to school and picked him up after I watched practice everyday. Considering I did that for 4 straight years I figure I EARNED the right to gripe about a once great program. NOW, what have you done in your 5 great posts to earn the right to tell ME who to root for and who to criticize? Riverdaleman. Thank You. There is three folks at R'dale I will take criticism seriously from that are currently R'dale rooters. You, TDC, and David Limbaugh. I would also take it from Warhawks, but he is in Ohio and doesn't get to watch the team daily anymore. I can't believe I am explaining this much, but I wanted to get it over with for this year as I am afraid I am going to make some MUCH MORE uncomfortable this year. Right now there is NOTHING left of the once proud Rankin traditions except ALL the trophys, both Silver and GOLD! Coach A has now been there 5 years, so ask yourself one thing. How many trophys has he put in the case? LOD I dont always agree with you and in Riverdale's coaching I really dont agree but you have your right to your opinions just as everyone else does. I think its great to hear that your son is serving our country. Thank you for raising such a great young man. I appreciate your comments about Riverdale and I understand that going from Silver and Gold to anything less would be looked down upon. However Coach A is a good coach and last year the team did a great job. Making it to the semifinals is a big accomplishment for any team. Look at what Maryville has done lately and they only made it to the semifinals. Give your team and your coaches some credit. They deserve it.

Swami where have you been? I miss reading your posts. I hope all is well. You are right he has lots of obstacles and history to overcome, along with the band. Hopefully he can do it. I really think he is the right man for the job.

As far as metro not posting.....some things are much more important. That was a very cheap shot. People have lost their homes, lost everything that they have worked hard for, others have been out helping those that have lost everything, helping clean up the neighborhoods that they live in, and you say metro hasnt posted because metro is not in school. Cheap and dirty. No class. And the junior high johnnies comment....Are you actually going to put down teachers who teach at the middle school / junior high level? Are you actually going to try and put down a person who goes out and works with kids on a daily basis? So sad. As far as your other comments...no one has ever said metro had a goal of winning 56%. I would think that every year every team that steps foot on the field has the goal of winning it all. Thats what every coach and every team really wants. Murray would be a fine choice. However I have said all along that Gore would be a good choice as well. I hope it is him.

Having been involved in putting on not for proffit combines in the past, a good portion of that $25 likely goes towards insurance covering both the organizer and the student/athlete, and the rest likely goes to a T-shirt and possibly facility charge. $25 isn't out of line. The money probably covers a t shirt and snacks/gatorade and bottled water.

If I am not mistaken Josh Jones from Fulton has a big part in this and Maryville Middle's Head Coach will be the Head Coach for TN. Neither have private ties they simply want to get kids the same opportunities as high school kids.

I'll take a stab at this one Archie....current HC Moreno...current assistant Baskins....former assistant I am hoping for Gore. He would be my choice above all others that I think would be interested. Gore has done well at Brentwood under Crawford and I think he would bring a lot to the table. It would be good for Metro to have him at McGavock.

FROM 1983-2009 THE BEECH BUCCANEERS HAVE AN OVERALL RECORD OF 32-23 AGAINST SCHOOLS FROM METRO/NASHVILLE...............SORRY WALKER OF THE FIELD BUT THE RECORDS SHOW THAT BEECH HAS OWNED METRO/NASHVILLE OVER THE YEARS Dang howdoitknow you had to go and pull out all that stuff! Oh well Beech has a winning record. I wouldnt quite say they have owned Metro though. Plus against the two schools I pull for they are pretty even. (Overton and Antioch) I just cant stand people especially LILAL knocking Metro or anyone else for that matter for no reason. The guy I am sure is a decent enough guy just needs to stick with Sumner County if he cant ever say anything positive at all. Metro coaches work just as hard as all others. All have good things about their jobs and all have bad things too. Metro coaches and football teams dont get any credit at all and a lot of it has to do with who they have been paired with the last several years (Williamson County). Its hard to beat those guys in the playoffs.

Boski---I am sure that Doris will be kept. I think the paper said that Broome wanted to keep the staff in place. Things should get real interesting for you all. I wonder how much Broome will change things offensively and defensively. The paper said you all had two good running backs. I know you all lost Stone. What else can Broome look forward to talent wise?

I agree fieldwalker. Cheatham County's last 5 head football coaches (Arrington, Tharp, Randolph, Boyd, & Finley) were all guys who served as assistants prior to eventually taking the reigns as the leader of the football program at the school. Halstead was an assistant at Sycamore under Tharp (who was named the head coach at Sycamore after serving as the head coach at Cheatham County) prior to eventually becoming head coach. Loope was an assistant at Harpeth under Winkler prior to becoming head coach. You seem to know a lot about Cheatham howdoitknow. What's the situation at CC and what district and class are they in. I know for a long time CC has been okay but usually hit a road block at David Lipscomb I think. I didnt pay much attention to them this past season. Is the outlook for next year any good?
