Since we played both teams and lost, (maybe ref's had a part in each, maybe not; especially in Regional final vs. JNS because Delk should have fouled out, but one foul for sure got pushed under the rug, and ref's in Memphis could not get act together toward end of game) maybe at least the ref'ing will be equal for both since both benefited from poor ref'ing jobs agains us.

JNS by three in finals over Hillcrest. I predicted this match up from start. Finally a close and good game.l

Hard to believe that JNS beat York like they did. Aren't state games supposed to be closer than this? Obion Central in Regional finals vs. JNS and in substate vs. Hillcrest played them closer than any other team in tournaments. OC fans - does that mean we came out as the 3rd best team at end of season and our district and region were the toughest in state this year? We certainly can say that our Lady Rebels showed up pretty good against the top 2 teams in the state at crunch time. Just a thought to ponder. I predicted JNS vs. Hillcrest in finals fron start. Next prediction: JNS over Hillcrest in finals by 3 points. Hillcrest will put up the 3 often. Seems they have gone inside more maybe by lack of 3's so far.

J. Northside by 10. Even though I had picked Northside in quarters, I am amazed that Delk had no fouls and played the whole game. I wonder how referees called the game. I am correct so far with JNS vs. Hillcrest to be in finals of AA.

Obviously the brand of basketball in West Tennessee is pretty good since our dogs are still in the hunt. I still say Hillcrest vs. Jackson NS in the finals with JNS the winner when all said and done.

Okay, East Tennessee transplant. Now you are telling me you are eating dinner on the job as well as playing on computer. And here I have been typing a test for Friday working hard, losing sleep. I shall call your wife and tell her you are both eating and playing while supposedly working. Go Ut Vols and Lady Vols. This year may be the year both win their NCAA tournies.

A comment on vacant coaching situation at OC land and anywhere? How many parents would like for teachers and coaches to tell those same parents that have public jobs how to run their jobs, make a tire, sew a shirt, run a cash register, etc. You get the idea. Now let me assure you, I am absolutely not knocking any particular job. I think every job has its highs and lows. I would not want to work in a factory or work in a store. I grew up on a farm, worked in a store, ran a home delivery route . I chose this profession., went to school to get trained for it. and so on. I agree with above comments that some school board members and parents should leave coaching to coaches and teaching to teachers. Not a one of us makes any person go out for a sport. WIth all the pressure of coaching today and its expectations, some good coaches are being run off. I hope you get my drift.

Union CIty by 15 points. Weddle has something to prove from substate game vs. Middleton. He's not Mr. B'Ball finalist for nothing. If he gets 30 points, then that 15 will mushroom to 25 point spread. I'll take one game at time. Humboldt wins also in 1st round.

I am a Oboin Central Lady Reberl fan. We played them in the substate and lost by just a few points. Have some good 3 point shooters: Whitney Houston, their tall girl and another one that actually did most damage against us. They are quick, good hands and will shoot from outside like cracy. Houston. I think, has somewhat of a temper and got a techical vs. us slapping floor when teammate fouled late in game. We could have beaten them possibly if things had been fair with ref's and their coach not going over and changing clock. TSSAA contacted about that situation. Only reason I would care that they win is because it would look good on OC. But other than that, go ahead and whip up on them. They have made substate 4 of last 6 years. We beat them thera last year to get to substate.

Thanks for the info. caramelcutiepie. They barely beat us in the sub-state so that was one reason for my interest. Hillcrest had another girl, a sophomore I think, that had a real good game from 3 point land. Better temper control than Houston,too.

Who can tell me? How did Colorado come to recruit Whitney Houston out of Hillcrest and isn't there another girl from AAA in Memphis that is signed with Colorado?

If this gets posted twice, thin overlook. I am green at this. I never saw it posted. Congrats. to UC. I have said before that playing some of the teams early in the year that UC faced would help them in the big games like tonight. Weddle came thru in the clutch, but UC has more guns than some people think. They are not a one-horse show. To go into Middleton and that hostile environemnt toniight and win shows that they are no pushover nor overrated. Evidently the zebras from Memphis need some schooling on ref'ing the way Cawley and Rauchle sounded on the radio. All the way UC in the 'boro next week. Represent West Tn., your district ,and Obion County well. We are supporting you and I know BHHvols in Athens, Tn. is rooting for you.

I want to congratulate the Lady Rebels of Obion Central for their season. Even though they fell one game short of the state tournament, they played with heart and soul. Their hustle was outstanding. They gave their fans a big picture of what tournment play should be like, even though it was district through sub-state level. Fan support at D'burg, Ripley, and at Hillcrest was great. With a season like we have seen, this has to be one of the toughtest districts and regions in the state. The two seniors will be missed greatly, but the team will only have to "reload", and not "rebuild". Knowing them, they will simply work harder to get to the "boro" next year. With the team that is coming back, that should be a very strong possibility. Even though the outcome is difficult to swallow, they truly played with nothing left on the floor to be ashamed about. I would not be surprised at all to see Jackson Northside winning in the finals over Hillcrest having seen OC play both teams in the tournaments. For those of us in the northWest, we got to see state tournament play without traveling to Murphy Center. No apology from here.

Congrats to Coach Trevathan. No time to (sleep on the golf course) till the "fat lady sings".

I may be new at this. But my opionion. I saw UC play at beginging of year and once more since. Middleton may have homecourt and trying to get back to state. Just that, trying to get back to state. UC in upset. Others step up big time to help Weddle who still gets his 25 plus points. UC has played tougher schedule to prepare for a game just like this. Showtime is here.

Most of Region 7 AA girls basketball in quarterfinals thru finals was as good a bunch of basketball games as one could hope to see. likely better than one will see at state this year. Jackson Northside vs. OCCHS was truly a great game to watch for regional final. Just wish zebras knew their numbers beter.
