It doesnt eliminate him from being the best player in the NBA either. "The best player" is 100% opinionated there is no stat that determines "the absolute best player in the league". Some people may think Nash IS the best player in the league because he makes his teammates better. Others may think it is Arenas, James, Bryant, etc. because of their overall talent. The best talent in the league doesn't always equal the best player. I don't think Allen was the best talent in the league last year but yes i do think he was the best player because he took a team that was supposed to be average-above average and made them very above average. Siegel was supposed to be state title contenders and Oakland was supposed to be a distant 2nd in the district. But Allen elevated his team's play and pulled the upset in the regular season district standings.
