  1. whoa! that makes there defense seem even better, and i forgot about the pk's which i do not think should count. I personally think that they might have trouble with Bearden's style of play, it is cheap but the constant attack is hard for every defense and i do not think Morristown West has faced this type of offense before, but they have proven to have a strong defense, i stick with my 2-1 prediction. but hey, what do i know?

    Ryan VS BGA

i think that this game could go either way, but i am going to say BGA wins it by one. like i said i think that whoever shows up and plays will win, which i think will be BGA. BGA has let in less goals, and scored more. But Father Ryan has played a harder schedule and that might have helped. It should prove to be a great game.
  3. i think that everyone who posted about this, was saying it in the "if they...." situation. that is great news! Good Luck to both teams
  4. predictions? i have never seen Morristown West play so my prediction is based only on their record. which says that they have a great defense, only seven goals and four of them were scored on them by Science Hill last game., but there schedule is not the hardest i say Bearden wins 2-1.
  5. i was in that game i agree, Farragut should play no matter what, just let this be motivation to show Science Hill there wrong doings by beating them soundly. but even though the hilltoppers have the right to schedule the game whenever they want it still puts a bad taste in my mouth knowing that they would do this, especially being aware of it.
  6. he said fastest, not quickest or the most agile. but i agree that quickness is more important. soccer is more about 3-10 yard speed, occasionally there is a full 25-50 yard sprint.
  7. whoa! what a cheap shot, and very low. I did not know that coaches could be so unwilling to help out and unsportsmanlike. I too hope that he finds some compassion and changes the game time, it is not as if it is a life and death situation, just push the game back 4 hours (or whatever is the best time for both). I do hope that Farragut plays either way, and maybe if they miss their graduation to play it will make them play harder and send the Hilltoppers home. i do not play for either, i am a non-player (this year) from Bearden.
  8. it should not be too hard for them to schedule the game at a different time, and i do not see Farragut forfeiting the game, personally i would rather play the game and advance into state rather than walk for graduation. You already know you are getting a diploma, but you do not know how far you all (farragut) can go this year, see what i am saying
  9. ya, i hope Nic can play to his potential against Science Hill, it would really hurt to not have him in such an important game. Seeing as how Science Hill has this great forward, Eddie Yah i haven't seen him play but i hear things) Yes, i think that the big field can help them alot, they should spread it and use the outsides, it worked very well against Bearden in the first match up. I think that the Farragut team should be more aggressive on direct/indirect kicks from a distance, like 40 yards, alot of times last night Farragut had kicks from afar and did not seem to have any one fighting for the ball. They have proven to be able to finish well (when they try). Good luck to both squads!
  10. i hear ya, i have never seen them play and am quite anxious to do so. and i forgot about hendersonville.
  11. predictions on advancements? mine are, well truly i do not know between Science hill and Farragut Bearden Ooltewah Mcminn Brentwood Cordova Houston
  12. ok. i did notice that Nic did not play the second half, why is that? Who was the center ref tonight? he wasn't the best, but he "wasn't the best" equally for both sides (in my opinion), which makes him a good ref.
  13. did my post get deleted? i did not think it had something wrong with it, did it? just wondering if i am in trouble or not.
  14. i didn't think it was all that close, Farragut did not have any real good looks on goal. umm first off i did not say anything about him. secondly i am pretty sure he did something considering that Ben, or anyone from Farragut for that matter, did not score. (now i said something about him) thirdly please do not tell me what to say, it is rude and just sounds very demanding and childish. fourthly one cannot say that Farragut played a close game that the score does not show and then say that Farragut played like crap, it is a huge contradiction and does not make any sense whatsoever. Good luck to both in sub-state and maybe they can meet again in a stadium
  15. Bearden won 3-0. no farragut forward took over anything.

maybe teams should try and get a competent clock keeper for games past regular season (district and on), just a thought. It shouldn't be too hard; alot of teams have announcers, why can't they just stop the clock as well? or would that be too complicated? i do not know how the clock works.
  17. well that would be best any way, maybe they should just find a coach that everyone can agree on. It seems selfish for the both of them to want "the better players" they could make a division one and division two team and give one team to each, this way they can scrimmage eachother whenever they want, and have stop action play. which really helps (in my opinion). p.s. last i heard Hans was coaching the Arsenal, did that change?
  18. well i happen to agree with you (the other post was my father). I have played when refs were terrible and it seemed like you never get a break, but i find it better not to complain unless it is just blatantly wrong. I agree that players need to stay focused on the game and not let little things bother them for more time then it takes for the ball to re-enter play. It shows good character by the Farragut squad in that they can refocus and try even harder, i wasn't there, but i hear they had a rough time with the refs. Good Luck to both teams, i too am hoping to see a great game (that is if the fans would just sit down, man it gets on my nerves when they stand for no reason, but i will get over it).
  19. sometimes it seems that the parents of players hate each other more than the players do. I just think that parents get too involved with politics, the kids will get along just fine. if they truly want to win they will accept any player that is good enough for the team. Here in Knoxville, soccer is becoming more popular and competetitive, we need to pull the best from everywhere for the good of the players, clubs, and city. Maybe i will try doing that when i get back.
  20. isn't he a sophmore? why doesn't that age group make a "super" team. Combine the best of the Arsenal and the best of the Ultralions, they would have a very strong team against anybody. i think all knoxville should do that, my age group would benefit by it and maybe put up a contest with TNFC.

    Refereeing

goodness gracious, that is alot of playing before the end of a game. thanks.
  22. maybe he didn't get a chance to run i wouldn't know because i wasn't at the game. but i have played against alot of people and in my experience (if that means anything) he is one of the fastest.
  23. uh yeah this is the original tin-man. sorry about that, he has never wanted to post before so i just leave my name on so i do not have to log-in. I personally do not care for east tennessee refs either, and i think most people agree. I think we should (for district/region/sub-state) hire refs from West Tennessee, and for state get refs from Kentucky or something. Everyone can complain about reffing in any given game, sometimes you get the better of it, sometimes you get the worst of it. It is part of the game, but to stop the complaints of "the ref is for Farragut" or "the ref was for Science Hill" we should get refs that do not know about the players. good luck to both teams, and i will be logging out each time now, i do not see why he had to use my name, but oh well.
  24. I did not say that the ref's are biased, I DID say that having ref's from another region would be UN-BIASED. Yes there are fouls and Cesar did have a stupid foul, but that doesn't mean that Farragut doesn't foul. What would you like to bet that the center ref will be that bald-headed guy named Chuck, or the older guy that wear's the glasses that was the ref in the 1st Bearden/Farragut game?? It happens every time they play. So go to the game and do what I did in the last game. Get a piece of paper and count the fouls. Then answer this-Do you think that it is possible for 1 team to not have a single foul in the first 22 minutes of a game? Especially a close, hard fought game. As far as the kick in the face...was he going for the ball, or the kids face? If he just Bruce Lee style kicked him in the face... .then that's a foul! Other than that, I say it is an accident.
  25. I know this isn't fair to Tinman, but too bad. This is his father. He is off running so I get to reply...the dummy left his link on. I think that both teams are very good. Farragut plays a more normal style of soccer- you know, possesion and passing. Bearden is a much more direct style team. I still can't figure out what they are trying to accomplish half of the time! If the players will do what is asked of them, it will be hard for anyone to beat them. One thing that keeps coming up in my mind that no one ever addresses is the reffing! In game 1 of Farragut vs Bearden, I thought I had seen the first game of the year where a ref clearly favored one team (Farragut). Most calls went for Farragut. I'm not saying that Bearden doesn't foul, but fouls happen on both sides. In game 2, the ref was even worse! Farragut did not have a single foul called against them until 22 minutes into the game, Bearden had 7 fouls. In the end Bearden doubled the fouls called. It is certainly possible that Bearden DID foul, however Rico was taken down WAY in the box.... and nothing. That kid could be hit in the face with a bat and wouldn't get a call! More importantly than the number of fouls, it's where the foul is called. Farragut has scored had 2 goals from directs just out of the box. They were GREAT shots..make no mistake, but you won't see a foul called against Farragut within 20 yds of the box. I have yet to see it. I wonder if ANYONE ever gets to review the tapes of the game. Someone should. I hope that in the game 3 it is a different group of ref's. If it is either ref from game 1 or 2- Bearden has no chance. The ref's should be from another region anyway! That would be un-biased. Good luck to both teams... especially on Saturday. A championship game is still possible!
