For anyone interested, Andy has emailed that all games for Tuesday are on as scheduled.He did indicate however, that there are some field changes and to check the brackets upon arrival at the field.

Chick, Shane told me at practice that he saw where you had stepped down. I hate it for the Sport of Softball and all of us that have known and fought MANY battles against you and Andy. You are a fearsome competitor and that quality is always reflected in your players. You have always seemed to be able to get the absolute best out of whatever talent level you might have had in any given year. Having known some of your players over the years, they have always remarked how much they "LOVED" playing for you. That, my friend, is your Legacy. I, (and I know I speak for Shane), will miss you terribly. For whatever reason you have made this decision, we wish you the best with it and hope it is everything that you want it to be. Game postponed until Tuesday at 7:00. Our OF needs a day to dry. Weather is "suppose" to be great tomorrow.

Tentative decision has been made to move the game to Tuesday at the same time. Lot of water on the tarp and the OF is real soggy. 40% chance of rain after 1:00PM today. Little chance tomorrow. Taking the tarp off and replacing it at 11:00 and will make the final decision at that time.

Dickson County High School will be hosting a Region 5AAA game on Monday, May 17th (weather permitting). The game will be between Dickson County and the runner up of District 9AAA which will be Beech or Wilson Central. Game time is 6:00PM.

Can someone please provide the time ot the WC vs. Beech game today. Also what is Plan B in the event of inclement weather?

They get most of there games because they always seem to hang around a long time on Saturdays when most of us have been sent home already. As far as this year is concerned, who would have ever thought that the Hendersonville Tourney would have been played Monday - Saturday uninterrupted by weather. I bet they added 15 games there.

From a "LOCAL" Coach's perspective, we did truly enjoy the format. Having the opportunity to get in 7 inning games was huge but traveling from place to place and catching teams in their home environment was equally beneficial. Additionally, as someone mentioned in an earlier post, Saturday would have more than likely been a wash if we were scheduled at a city park. I'm sure that the Riverdale Coach's have heard your plea for change and will make the necessary adjustments to entice the out of state teams to return. In fact, I would be willing to bet that once the word on this tournament format gets out, the out of state entries will explode.

Hmmmmmmm...................Well lets see??? Sounds like you have a choice to make. Travel nine hours and be irritated with the format or................. maybe, just maybe, find another tournament to attend. Based on your apparent disgust, the decision seems pretty simple to me. Just saying????

(Don't know what happened but I continue) As the season progressed, we lost our fire and fell into a period of complacency where we allowed some teams to hang around and beat us. But after we suffered our 10th loss we dug back in and showed just what we knew we were capable of all along. It is hard to coach 'HEART" but these girls brought the "HEART" the last half of the season. Yesterday, the "HEART" was still there but the intensity was gone??? I look forward to next year. We lose only ONE VALUABLE SENIOR so hopefully we will contend again.

To be among the elite 8 (per classification) that make it to the "Dance", from the District Tournament forward you have to take care of all the fundamentals of Coaching, Pitching, Catching, Fielding, Throwing, Hitting and Running. Then, on top of all this, the sun and the moon have to line up just perfectly. A mere hiccup in any of these areas is the major reason why some of the best teams in the state don't advance to the "Dance". At this point, you have Coffee, Lincoln, Rossview and Ootewah to mention a few that are going to have to buy a ticket to the "Dance" and by Friday there will be 8 additional teams that probably deserve to go that will have to do the same. If you are ever fortunate enough to get there.....believe me.........YOU DESERVE IT!A very good Wilson Central team came into our house last night and TOOK away our opportunity to advance. They jumped on us early with 2 runs and sealed our fate with another run in a later inning and we never answered. Greenwood pitched a tremendous game! She did a really good job of keeping our hitters off balance. We got one runner to third and that was our only threat. You can't forget your bats like we did and expect to contend for state. Congratulations Wilson Central on a well deserved win. Good luck tonight and Friday.We are very proud of this Lady Cougar Team. Softball field is located at the school. the best way to access it if you arrive after 3:30 will be to turn right onto N. Charlotte off of 70W. Go about 1/4 mile and turn left up the bus ramp. The Softball field will be on your right as you go up the hill. If you arrive before 3:30, well.................... DON'T.................... you will regret ever putting yourself in that traffic mess.

The regional contest between Dickson County and Wilson Central has been rescheduled to be played tomorrow at 6:00PM. Dickson's infield is tarped and in good condition but there are places in the outfield and baseline area grass and that have water standing and need some drying time. The sun is out and the wind is blowing. Just what the doctor ordered.
