  1. What are the thoughts about Hamilton Sports'>East Hamilton's hire for basketball? Interesting that he is from outside Hamilton County when they are talking about lots of teacher layoffs next year.
  2. Whether you like Temple or not, you have to agree that this is pretty funny!
  3. I am educated and I can see, just for the record. I started this thread because I believe that Temple's situation, if not handled correctly-or perceived that way, will act to further the cause for a split. There are enough people out there right now who want a split but haven't been able to get it. If Temple is found guilty and not punished with something that fits their "crime" then the screams for a split will be too loud not to hear. Only my opinion, I am a private school guy but as I said, I can see and I do read!
  4. Does Zonepirate or anyone else have any idea when more information is coming out in the newsapaper? I had heard that TSSAA was in town and still working hard. I would think that the longer the investigation goes, the worse it looks for Temple. Anyone agree or disagree with this way of thinking?
  5. What are the similiarities of the USJ case and the Temple case? Are they basically the same infractions? Are they close enough to each other that we can draw up an "educated guess" as to what the TSSAA will do to Temple based on what they did to USJ?
  6. From all that we have seen in the amount of information on Coacht, the radio, Times Free Press, TSSAA comments, I believe that we will see a ruling on the tuition/ineligible players and CSAS kids illegal involvement in spring practice pretty soon. These charges are not being denied. They can rule on these and then keep the case open and continue to investigate. Unfortunately for Temple, the first wave of this may be enough to do them in.
  7. With the information coming out right now, Larson participating when not a student and the quotes by SE coach, the linking of the previous administration and coaches is starting to become pretty clear!
  8. Wow! I should have turned my radio on at 4 today!
  9. You have a point......I just know that I don't want us to play Baylor, Mc Callie, Brentwood, or anybody like that!
  10. Remember that I am writing as a fan who is sometimes embarrassed by what my school does (the Boyd scrimmage cancellation). I was a fan before John Allen and I will be a fan after he leaves. I do think though, that Silverdale, Boyd, Grace, DB could all benefit potentially if Temples program was shut down then their players would be looking for somewhere else to play football or basketball. Who wouldnt want some of their best players? We would. But they might also go back to their home school area like Ooltewah where Ed Foster is a TSSAA bigwig and they probably would end up being eligible. Just my thoughts on the question.
  11. The only item that falls under misunderstanding could be the Skogen tuition mess. I feel that it is unfortunate, but the rules are written and there for everyone to see. The administration should have known and Coach Skogen should have known, but I put more blame on the administration or lack of administration!
  12. Stephen Hargis has written more stories on Temple than any other small school around. He is the prep editor and has a choice about who he writes about. if he was trying to sell newspapers, he wouldnt choose a school that only had 100 kids!
  13. I wasn't in town and I am just a fan but I have to say that we were wrong. I don't know what happened but there is no excuse for this. I apologize for our team and school.
  14. I am not in Chattanooga. What happened?
  15. The worse it looks for Temple the better it looks for the rest of us who worry about having a TSSAA split!
  16. Have all the Temple defenders gone into hiding or just worn out from fighting a losing battle? It has been pretty quiet the past couple of hours.
  17. It makes sense and I believe Coach Skogen was sincere in what he thought, but according to the TSSAA it is still a violation, and yes it is the fault of the administration. This will be referred to as "lack of institutional control"!
  18. Chastain was a volunteer coach- no tuition charged. Skogen was either a volunteer coach or maybe the school chaplain? Since he had a full-time job as a pastor of his church, could he honestly claim to be a full-time employee of Temple as well or was he just a volunteer? I agree that Temple was not going to offer free tuition to the volunteer assistant without offering it to someone who was a head coach in both major sports. Or maybe, if his other kids went to Temple, maybe they went free? It just doesn't really make sense to me but then maybe I am not very smart!
  19. I guess congratulations are in order for South Pittsburg. 2006 Region Champs!
  20. The trouble that Temple is involved with will act as a "gasoline" that will burn the bridge that once was TSSAA.
  21. We will just have to wait and see, but unfortunately I think I am right.
  22. There are enough public schools who are going to push hard to use the Temple situation to cause the split.
  23. None of my friends knew which player was which for Temple in the scrimmage. Who were the bright spots, the disappointments, etc. for Temple?
  24. I have been out of town and don't know about our scrimmages or if we have even had any.
