  1. It was never a game. I was able to attend the game and all they hype about Halls is a bunch of garbage. Union City controlled the entire game. Hall is like the other teams in the U C district, they need to worry about who will finish 2nd to last because U C has 1st already locked up. Union City will play 11 to 13 deep once everyone is back, including the Stewart kid. Get your tickets now to a show near you, come one come all, you will get your monies worth when you watch U C play. Sorry Halls, you never had or will have a chance against the Purple and Gold.
  2. When Union City plays Humboldt, Union City will win both games by 25 points or more both times. NO ONE in western Tennessee outside of Memphis can Beat Union City in any class, A, AA or AAA. Union City is at least a week away from being 100% full speed. When the Stewart kid starts playing, just another weapon to add. Union City will compete for another GOLD Basketball.
  3. Was able to listen to the Union City / Liberty tech boys game. Union City really dominated Liberty most of the second half up by as many as 24 at one time. Liberty was really no match for Union City boys. U C is now 10 - 1 with Halls not far down the road. This is Union City district and region to loose...no one in this area can handle them...
  4. It would be great to see U C vs. O C once again but, who gains other than a big gate. U C a small, dominate team who can beat all Class A schools, most all Class AA schools, many Class AAA schools and some Class AAAA schools which Obion falls under. It would really not be to Obion's advantage to play U C but at the same time, U C playing O C , U C would win 90% of the time. Basketball the same way. Dresden / Westview didn't play for years and now started back. Dyer Co. / Dyersburg does play now and use to. So really, the way the schedules are now, U C for one has no room to play O C an O C needs to schedule a team in the off game where they think they may win, not get hammered every time. O C though is now finally on right track with new coach coming in and he will change things.
  5. My opinion and my opinion only. We are stuck in the far northwestern part of state. The only newspaper coverage we have is locally. The exposure to the kids is a little slim. We have great players here. each year, some college misses out on good players. One other thing, our coach is a TEAM coach and teaches that awards are by team, not individual which happens but you loose and win as teams. No one gets singled out. The Jackson Sun is a regional paper and does not cover us. The Commercial Appeal is a larger regional print paper that does not cover us. So media exposure is one key area for sure. I personally would like to know myself. Good queston though.
  6. hey...look at my call name,"ucdiditagain" and for those from Lake County who can't read, that mean, "Union City DID IT AGAIN" boys. Back to back, 3 Golds in 5 years, something Lake Count has never done. If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch. Some of you folks seem to amaze us. We are very proud of our school. Hey, that team ( Coalfield ) has way less students in their school and was NOT complaining and made it to the State Championship. They even played 4 A schools on their schedule.
  7. Let us enjoy this 2014 GOLD ball, we will talk about 2015 after the first of the year. And yes, I predict the semi's for Union City next year. They will be good once again.
  8. Atlas, I couldn't agree with you more. "IF" the Lake Co., South Fulton's, Greenfields, etc. would worry about teaching the kids they suit up each game and practice everyday, trying to beat no matter who they play whether it is a school of 1000 or a school or 100, they would be a lot better off. We all know the deal. They just dug themselves a hole and will see what happens net year. Coalfield would beat a allstar team combined from Lake Co, South Fulton and Greenfield & Gleason. Numbers DO NOT MATTER in most cases. You just have to grown up and be a man. Congrats once again to Coalfield..
  9. Ok Trenton, It's your turn. Go win that GOLD Football and bring back to West Tennessee. The Union City fan base is pulling for you.
  10. The game of football is basically controlled by turnovers....99% of the time the team that wins with the number of total turnovers ( number of fumbles by your team or anyone team) is the looser at the end of the game. No harm done but if you played us 10 times, you would loose, 10 times. Great game plan, your Q B is going to be a good one. #55 is really good but only had 4 tackles which I was surprised. Union City had way to much speed for the outside. We could have passed but only a couple of time not wanting to run the score up. Go read my post of what I took from the game as I was able to make the trip, I praised your team well. Still in Cookeville to see all games. Your team has a bright future. It was Union City's year, It was Union City's day. No one could slow us down but your team did for 2 quarters, most in the season. We had 12 Mercy rules this year, your team adding to that. Your team actually gave more of a fight than the Private school NCS. Don't hang your head. Let us enjoy the GOLD. These years only come around very seldom.
  11. Coalfield, you did well. You did something to our team not one other team could, take a lead at 8 - 7. Your team played very well, your Q B will be one everyone will know come his Junior and Senior Year. The Stewart kid, #55, sir, you are good and Tennessee should be proud to have you. Coalfield had to many break downs in the 3rd quarter but Union City had way to much fire power at the end. What a season by Union City, what a season ! One that has gone down in many ways of records and will not be touched for year to come I would say. Union City will be strong next season but loosing one of the best ever Senior Classes ever to wear the Purple and Gold on the field. Both teams played hard, played fair and not one cheap shot or players jawing much. At the end, respect was shown before, during and at the end of the game by both teams and fans. Coalfield, you represented and will continue to represent your community well as well as East Tennessee. A very bright future is ahead for you folks. Union City, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES !
  12. The good thing is, Union City should be about as healthy as they can be from the talked I have heard and reading. That is what you want in your last games, especially when you are playing for GOLD. There is no question, Coalfield will come at Union City with their defense. But, on the other hand, a team equally as good and better will meet them. I just feel to much speed. Union City has way to much speed on both sides of the ball for Coalfield to stay very close. I hope they kickoff to Union City and do not muff kicks and onside. Union City is going to be ready. Sure hope and wish I could make the trip but not going to get to go as of now. Plan to use live streaming via internet. Safe travels for all of those who are going. It was mentioned to me that a possibility of rain for Friday and Saturday in Cookeville.
  13. BigSwo and other posters from from U C....I tend to get out of hand at times on here and simply try to defend but when I do I actually knock myself down a notch or two and also lower myself. That is why I have to take a few days off. Sorry for offending anyone. But this is a forum and what I say or have said is nothing like what some can get away with. I sure don't want to give us a reputation of being low class and such. Folks from Coalfield, please accept my apologies. Not being able to attend many games, depending on the live stream by internet and sometimes radio, it is hard. I am not for sure I will even get to attend the game this week as work may get in the way. Go Tornadoes and safe trip for everyone from both schools. I know the game will be clean and full of great sportsmanship. Til then, Go win that second gold football in a row tornadoes !
  14. Emotions run higher each step you take in the playoffs. Some teams like Union City has to keep those emotions up even when going against a team they know they will defeat. But, they also are taught to respect and never overlook a team. Coalfield will come in ready I know as well as the Union City kids. The Union City team has had a bulls eye on their front and backs all 13 games so far and this one is not different. Bowling will have the attention of his team going through all week and into the game Friday morning. Getting mad or using that as a emotion is not a good thing. I have played in many sports in high school and know that emotions are from the practice which carry on into the game. Union City will treat this game no different as the other 13 because the last three have been a do or die deal. NCS as to have been the toughest task and quite honest, we had a much tougher test from Trenton, Huntingdon and McKenzie in our own neighborhood. An embarrassing loss for NCS and one that will stick in their gut for the winter into spring, Union City will be and is up to anything challenge wise that will be coming the way. Starting 3 freshmen is pretty cool on a team in the state finals but the nerves will get to them at some point during the early part of the game while most of the kids from Union City you will see if not all were on the same field last year at this time competing and winning the schools 2nd GOLD football. C F will break out all stop and tricks they have. Union City will have to play a normal game and if so will win handily. But by no means will anyone of our players or coaches overlook anyone. It has been repeated often by our coach, no GOLD balls were handed out after the NCS game but only handed a invitation to play for that GOLD ball the next week. We have played through everything and everything that has been thrown at us and I or we expect NO DIFFERENT this week. You are dealing with a very tight group of young men who have played together for years and now most are Juniors and Seniors. Should be fun to watch.
  15. And it's not ok for me or us to do that, many have mentioned other players names on here. My beef is Jernigan does his work on the field just like the others. No one gives him the promos simply because he is not a D1 prospect. Well, in my eye he is a D1 prospect on and off the field. Stewart is a man and player no doubt. I'm simply saying and have said, your team has not faced a Union City. Your team has not faced a team that has Mercy Ruled 11 out of 13 teams so far this season. You have your right to pull for your team, I have mine. I won't be able to go to the game this week due to being out of town for work but will be watching via internet on the Apple. Good luck to both team, players and fans. I hope for a safe and injury free game.
  16. Sir, Mr. Stewart should have taken his chance and sat down with the kid from NCS that Jernigan whipped this past Friday night to gain a few extra pointers because he is going to need them in a bad, way. #55 will be wanting oxygen by the end of the 1st quarter and begging for a rest. He to will also find out that high school is not match to college but playing Union City will be the next closes thing...lol. The kid ( #55 Stewart ) from C F we know is good and won the Mr. Football Award back to back but Union City kids have their eye on something the Stewart kid wishes he could win and won't, Back to Back GOLD ( Team ) Footballs. he will find out Friday morning when he goes up against the toughest line he has faced since being in high school. Just ask the other 90% people on here who aren't from Union City, saw the NCS or any other game. They will tell you a buzz saw is in your path of a state championship.
  17. We have not really been tested yet, honestly. The best team we have faced is Trenton Peabody and they are in the state 2A finals against Marion County. We beat them by 30 plus. WE had several games where we were between 30-41 points ahead after the first quarter. Best players, the entire team. We have 6 guys who can run the football and then the Q B who runs the veer to perfection and will score at will. We have two Mr. Football finalist in the team. #42 on the backs ad #50 on the linemen. Our #50 just whipped NCS #50 ( 6'9" 290 ) all over the field. Keep your eye on, #42, #2, #11, #6, #76, #74, #24, #22, #16, #56, #50, #57, #58, #53, #72 , #14 just to name some of our seniors and juniors.
  18. You know, we all respect the fact that Coalfield earned their way in and is due respect. For almost 1 year, we and NCS both had each other in our own crosshairs. Now that we embarrassed them giving them one of if not their most lopsided game in scoring and stats in their history of their school, you will find out just how tough Union City is. Our defense will HURT you and hit you harder than any team you have seen in years so have plenty of Icy Hot around. Also, you will see just how explosive our offense is as well. We WILL NOT overlook you. We can run the football, we can throw the football, we have a kicker who is just 3 extra points away from setting a state record in ALL classifications on extra points in a single season ( he is only a junior I might add ). We TRIED to tell NCS what was headed their way and they were stunned after the first series we ran. I will say this, we have been known on many occasions this year of not even punting the ball, we have scored in some games on every possession we had the ball. There is a real likelyhood we could score 50 plus points in this game. The key is this, is your defense good enough to slow our offense down ( don't think so ) and is your offense strong enough to over power our defense ( I know for sure that ain't gonna happen ) so this all equals out to a dominating performance by Union City, just like they have shown the last 13 games we have played this season. We are currently 2nd in the state in all classifications in scoring behind Knoxville Fulton scoring around 58 points per game ( Union City ). We are also ranked in the 800 range in the nation national rankings while the team we just crushed was in the 1500 ranking area. No, ranking are for fans but they do mean something or they wouldn't have them. Just wanted you to be warned before your team hits the field this Friday at 11 AM. Just remember when the game is over, remember ole ucdiditagain said "told ya so".
  19. Yes sir, they do. Union City will have 3 of them come Friday about 2 PM and that is since 2009.
  20. Trenton Peabody will be a repeat of what you saw with Union City. They are loaded now and will really be LOADED next year. Face it folks, the Gold ball comes through West of the Tennessee River to get to Cookeville, Tennessee.
  21. My comment on the " possible D1 Players" from NCS ( No Can't Score ) , they were all on the NCS team last year weren't they that we TOTALLY DOMINATED and controlled also. Size looks good on the field and paper but what is on the inside is what matters. Union City gave your "Possible D1 Players" just a very small taste on how getting hit and playing against kids their own size and better can show....WEAKNESS. Union City in no means a D1 or any college team but just shows...kids like you have talent wise are just a dime in a dozen. Private schools try and stack teams for championships and it hardly ever works. I will take a total "TEAM" effort over any T(I)am effort. You just ran across a team that shows how to play football...run, run and more running. NO ONE can stop the "Fear The Veer". Next !
  22. Union City will be good once again. Maybe not as good as this year but will compete for another regional title. Also, Trenton has many of their team this year coming back. One of these two will once again win the district next year, U C or Trenton.
  23. Look, you have had your year, your season is over. Ours is still on going and even with our kids still playing football, now we are dominating your Falcons in Basketball. When are you ever going to give up. NO ONE CARES about Lake County in any sport and some have never even heard of Lake County. I don't think you spell Lake County or Wilkes ( Nashville Christian at Union City - West Semi-Finals ) So, jump back onto the sidelines and watch and listen til next year.
