Okay...we have these very well rounded, outstanding young men....they excel in soccer and in MANY other things. They need to miss practice for.... Mock trial, for key club, for DECA, for FFA, for Honors Society, For School Council, they have to help plan prom....you name it they just CAN NOT make it to practice. What is a disciplined Coach going to do? Have any of you experienced this? What is your plan of action? I read that Metcalf scored 71 goals his senior year-2002 at USJ (65 his junior year) Is that a record for a/aa schools?

Actually Big G nobody does it around the west is as good as MadisonLB with the throw in-he's just being modest-the boy can flat out chuck it. It's one of reasons Madison can be so deadly.

yep-I partially disagree also-there may have not been any questionable calls but there were a couple of questionable no-calls. You gotta love Ray-he is always cheerful and willing to back up and explain his calls. I like Malcolm better though. D-burg will just have to shake it off and focus on the game at hand. It would have been great to meet sheffield again especially since they lost the keeper but that isn't the way things fell out. Usj will definately advance past Sheffield and they should-it was a hard fought match between D-burg and USJ won with alot of heart and class. Sat. between d-burg and Madison will be a great game for a bunch of seniors on both teams who have played each other for a long time for different schools and clubs and who aren't ready for their season to be over. Good luck to both teams.

it was an exciting game to watch. D-burg missed alot of chances. Game against Madison on Sat. will be another nail-biter.

sheffield was runner-up for district 8 they had a loss 4-0 to Madison Tuesday night. (there was no district tournie since sheffield is alone in their district). Sheffield beat Haywood last Sat in Regional Semi's to advance to their region Finals. They will play USJ at USJ on Sat . Madison and D-burg will play on Sat at Madison field.

he didn't seem to move much in madison's game against usj-even though he does have a gun for a kick if you give him room to pull the trigger and shoot. minus that kick he's was lazy. D-burg's field would wear him out

you keep talking about everbody "overlooking" and "underestimating" -especially when you are talking about d-burg. Who have we overlooked? Who have we under-estimated? We lost to Ridgeway in a great game-but we certainly didn't underestimate them. We lost to Westview but that was because we gave everything in the earlier Sheffield game and were shot...they wanted it more and they won but not because we overlooked them. Our seniors have been playing with many of the best players on usj and westview AND Madison since they were all in 7th grade. The reason we have gotten this far is that we dont underestimate ANYONE. We knew that the game between westview and usj would be a great game and most of us thought Hyuntae would be the difference-he wasn't. And I dont think Westview overlooked USJ I just think time got away from them and from what you said they had their chances-it was a tough loss. D-burg has come to many of USJ's game AND Madison's game's even when it wasn't a Jamboree or a tournament. We dont take anything for granted and we will be prepared. We are confident of our ability to win when we are "on" that does not mean we dont respect USJ or would ever underestimate them or Leo.

what about the haywood game?-everyone from your team that played haywood played the sheffield/d-burg game. and the refs are never on d-burg's side as far as we are concerned. the sheffield players that got carded at BOW should have been carded and were given plenty of warnings. you are lucky that your whole team didn't get a red card at the haywood game because of the way that guy in jeans at your bench acted-he was thrown out of the stadium-TWICE...The ref at that game definately gave you a break.

according to todays Jackson Sun Metcalf scored 2 (1st goal in the 4oth min. of first half) 2nd goal in 65th min. smigielski scored third off assist from kurth in 78th min.

i agree that it might come to a shoot out, but if it does westview will win. the keeper for westview is good and that will be the difference

northside has been flying under the radar this year. but I think d-burg has a good memory and will remember the old rivalry and take care of business early. I think it might get ugly cause it usually does when these two play. d-burg 4 northside 0.
