the thing about high school sports is, if you're a rival in one sport, you're a rival in all sports. so with that in mind, we have already won a game, against your football team. and i don't believe for one second that franklin isn't looking ahead to the independence game. they ought to be. as far as depth, independence has plenty of it. brentwood is a better shooting team that franklin in my opinion. IHS's backcourt has the advantage in this one, and if indy's frontcourt shows up to play (which doesn't always happen, but it's becoming more consistent), don't be surprised when indy pulls off the "upset"...

indy will win tonight by 10-15, i say. i'm not making excuses about the last game, brentwood played incredible, and despite at least decent defense from indy, they just didn't miss. i don't think that they can repeat that kind of performance, though, and i feel i'm being conservative with my prediction. if indy wins by 20+, i won't be surprised.

with it being christmas break, alot of people haven't been getting on to post... usually i post at school during english class because it is the most convenient class to skip and go to the computer lab, and alot of the other indy fans are the same.... by the time monday rolls around, indy fans will be flooding the message boards again.

We (independence) will take this one. No one for Hillsboro to guard our big man, is there? Our big man will finish with 20-25 and indy wins by 10.

okay so scales started at point like i said, and byrd didn't start, but had a good game.... where were all those big tall guys you were talking about? lamont and drew were there, but i didn't see anyone else... where was matt's little brother?

after seeing centennial play against us (independence) and knowing a couple of the guys on franklin, i say franklin wins by 10 or so.

Mixer graduated, and Lamont Harris has to pass his classes to be on the team, which isn't a given.... they have chaz scales starting at point i think, and he's a sophomore, so they won't do much this year. Indy won't be challenged by anyone except possibly franklin.

Kelly's a great player, but he's not a miracle worker. IHS by 20, similar to last year's score at Indy.

after being down in 3-1 in the second half, independence came back to beat Franklin Road 4-3. Goals were scored by Moises Sixtos, Chad Roberts, and I believe two were scored by Jacob Bender (don't quote me on that last part). Please post other USN tournament scores here when the games go final.

are those overall records or district records?

independence's game against centennial was postponed because of rain... if they can beat them, i'd say they have a shot at making it out of the district tournament.

ravenwood tied franklin 0-0. independence beat franklin 3-1. other than that, i'm not sure.

1.) Brentwood, Independence, Franklin, Centennial, Ravenwood 2.) Independence vs. Ravenwood... Ravenwood beat Independence in the last few minutes of the game last year, 4-3. 3.) Ravenwood won't be as good as predicted, i don't think. 4.) They can, but I don't know if they will. 5.) not very well this year, they're reloading. 6.) already started competing... beat franklin thursday night. 7.) it's possible... the difference between these five teams is small... whoever finishes last could knock off the first place team in the districts, i think. 8.) no, but they did graduate a lot of it. oh, and i remember reading that someone said independence didn't lose anyone last year early on in the thread... since it's a new school, it doesn't have any seniors there yet, so you're right, the team didn't lose anyone, because no one at the school graduated.

Moises Sixtos is midfielder/forward from Independence high who led his team in goals and assists last year, and should be mentioned among the best in the state.

tullahoma is a solid team.... i'm on independence, and even though we beat them, i was impressed with their team as a whole... the goalie was weak though.
