  1. Do you have to be a player to support the team or be their biggest fan? I don't think so! I just call it like I see it. But you're right, I should calm down a little until Tuesday. Then, after the win, I'll proceed! I think or thought we're on the same team here. Confidence! Rebels, Rebels!
  2. ok, after a lenghty drive to columbia to preview 1st hand the Indy team, I still and now more than ever, predict Franklin by 15-20. Let's start off by saying the game was quite sloppy, too say the least. If you come in our house and play like that, I predict a 40 point win. The big guy played just average, Kuchar was off on shooting (but had good defense) and Farris still couldn't handle the ball very well. On the positive side, Johnson, 23, was having a good night, shooting wise. I'll say the coach played more people than I thought. Some of the players that came off the bench played pretty good. There were no rosters available, so I'm not sure about names. But I thought #'s 42,44, & 10 all played pretty well. Also, #22 seemed to hustle and put in good defense but only played a little in the 3rd quarter. They still don't have the depth and talent Frantown has. To sum it all up, they need everyone to be on to keep up with the Rebs and I don't see it happening--headline coming soon-- REBELS SWEEP THE DISTRICT!
  3. I think it's true, Indy maybe on a downward spiral. Seems like they're starting out just like the football did. Lots of hype! I think the truth came out last night and in the previous game against Brentwood. The other teams in the district are moving forward and Indy's going down. With the exception of Luttrell, who has come out as a monster lately and is playing some real ball. I may just have to make the trip to Columbia to see how well the Eagles recover after last night.
  4. I second that! I heard about that game and that there were about 15 turnovers in the first few quarters! If everyone thinks the coach is so great----explain that? Where was the rest of the bench That's why Jay Johnson rules, I don't care if he can't compare his knowledge to that of a swiss army knife or claim pro status. His team has depth and he doesn't play favorites! That's why we will run ALL over Indy. We'll see who's a outcoached come Tuesday! Look out INDY!
  5. Looks like Rebels rule again!! Check out that point margin!! Look out Indy!
  6. That doesn't mean ANYTHING! Is there really a need for name calling? We'll see who turns out to be the idiot on Tuesday night. The stats will speak for itself!
  7. I also know Coach Smith and many of the football boys. Did you play for him? Because unless you played for him or are the parent of a child who has then you really can't say anything. He may be a Great teacher, but things are totally different when you step outside of that classroom. I agree they are getting a great guy. But, I didn't play for him--so I don't know the whole story and can't say one way or the other about the coaching. That's my opinion. I also say GOOD LUCK to him!
  8. I call it confidence, not cocky! Are you kidding me? Beating a team is not beating a team, you HAVE to look at the point margin. Score is most definitely an issue. I too agree Indy relies too much on the point. I have to disagree with no depth on the bench. He has several players who could be great assets to the team, but only chooses to play those that play for whatever reason....favorites, I presume. Baugh was definitely a LOSS. I've watched this team play and Nick Luttrell will be a big factor along with the point. But, Farris, no real threat there. He does have points on a consistant basis, but he plays alot. His turnover ratio is also quite high. I have watched several of the players on that team and what they're capapble of. I don't think Franklin should have any real concern, but you never know what weapon they may pull out. The bragging will come Tuesday night!
  9. After watching the Indy/Brentwood game on channel 9 last night I'm gonna go ahead and say Franklin will sweep Indy. I predict by at least 15 points. If we can control the big man or if he is having an off night-maybe a win by even a bigger margin! Rebels will continue their winning streak!!
  10. I don't think it's a stupid question. everyone knows he recruited Zac Cordell and he'll go anywhere. Might as well add another school to the list. What is he-at school #4 or 5? As for the head coaching job, I think Independence will bring in some big names/applicants. I don't think Gates or Eubanks have the qualifications to take on the head coaching position. Besides rumor mill is Eubanks is leaving after next year also!
  11. If the rebels can hold the big guy down on Tuesday I predict Franklin by at least 12. I don't think Indy really has anyone else to worry about. And we ALL know coach Jay J. can outcoach, even if he isn't a former this and that, pro whatever. It's going to be good! With Indy barely beating Brentwood and the way We KILLED Hillsboro last night---that should tell you something!
  12. I think Franklin will walk away with the district with no problem. They are one of the few teams that actually play some good TEAM ball. And Jay J. Definitely has to be the best coach in the distict! Look at the teams/players he has come through there. The kids have such great respect for him and it's rightfully earned.
  13. They won their opening game by 23 to a not so strong fairview team from what I heard, and they won tonight against FRA by 18. They're putting up points on the board and have big men on the inside and guards who can play in the back court.
  14. I would say Drew Kelly is a tremendous amount better than bryce cardin who's only move inside was a right handed jump- hook. Drew Kelly brings versatility to the post position and can go right or left at any given time...great matchup but I pick Indy by 13.
  15. Even though a Franklin fan, I think Independence would absolutely be a great team to follow.
