  1. It is going to be an uphill battle. Those teams were on the schedule last year and year before that. People in P-Town living in a world of unrealistic expectations. Football has passed them by but they are set in their ways of being the football capitol of the world. The once Good Ole Boy smash mouth football player has now been replaced by pot heads and skaters. Principal says 4 wins at least. No time to be patient. This is Portland! 6 home games sound good next year but the following year there will only be 4 home games.

  4. They did not install it in a week, and yes it is a "true" single wing. In the last three games they rushed for 282 yards against Mt. Juliet, 230 yards against Hendersonville, and 245 against Gallatin.
  5. Who in 9AAA plays this week? Any predictions?
  6. After talking with a certain coach today this would have been a done deal. If your family health insurance is going to cost $500 a month and the head coaching supplement is $4500, how is a guy supposed to feed his family? You would think that they would have done something to get their first choice in.
  7. I am very glad that Coach Sanders will be back. I know that he would have been a heck of a head coach. Why did he turn the job down? I thought it would have been a good job for him.
  8. Congratulations to Coach Sanders on landing the head coaching job. He is a super guy and role model for my son. I know he will be missed by all of the players. To the guy who posted on Shelbyville??™s three wins. I don??™t believe its Coach Sanders fault for that. He is not the head coach and if he was believe me this wouldn??™t be an issue. He came into a program that was pathetic. I don??™t believe you can judge him by that. He is the offensive coach and I can tell you what he did with the talent he had was tremendous. The same kids played defense that were on offense. The d gave up 50 points a game while the o was scoring around 3 times a game. He came in two years ago from Gallatin and was somewhere in Georgia before that. I believe my son said he was an all state center at Henderson high school and played at MTSU. He is also head track coach. Woodbury is getting a great coach and I can promise you that. I don??™t know what all the sarcasm is about, but Coach is more then qualified to be the head coach.
  9. I believe the varsity score was 2-2, and the younger guys was Blackman 3 or 2-1 Bottom line is it was a great scrimmage for both teams. The D for Shelbyville struggled a little bit, because of Blackman's great Tailback. They made it up through ints and fumbles. The offense looked really good. They moved the ball up and down the field. Their offensive speed was hard to stop on the outside. My son is really excited about the upcomming year and they will be much improved.
  10. What will Sanders position be at Shelbyville and what kind of coach is he? I know Coach Hardy is a defensive guy. Is this the possible coordinators position? Sorry to clog up the region 5-5A board, but no one is talking about SCHS. My son is going to be a senior and is an offensive player. Just wondering what type of O to look forward too.
  11. Does anyone know anything about Shelbyville's spring games? Will the new coach keep both or try to cancel one? Also, is there any news about new coaches for this upcoming spring or will they remain the same. O or D Coordinator???
  12. Wingman10 Does any Gallotin Fans know if other coaches on staff will be comming with him or who Coach Hardy would try and go get?
  13. Agreed mjuhb! I don't think Shelbyville has the kids (yet) to beat those teams. It will have to come from hard work and coaching. Looking back on last years staff, they may need to rebuild. I know my son was happy when he came home after school. He is excited about Coach Hardy comming back for his senior year. Will Coach Hardy be calling the D and O??? That is a lot of work.
  14. Yes Indeed. A Great Hire!!!
  15. Friends at SCHS say it will be named tomorrow. The new head coach is neither from East or West, nor Alabama. I believe it is a great hire.
