  1. MVM, thanks for the kind words to the Baylor team. I guess we all knew we couldn't replace all that we lost last year....but you are right they are young and Coach Blair will get them prepared and better when it counts. I am sorry that I was not at the game tonight and look forward to hearing about the game. To Alcoa and akula21....a big congratulations! I have always been impressed with what I have heard about akula and the Alcoa soccer team. Good luck to you this year!
  2. I agree Big G. I too applaud MJUHB for doing a great job on the rankings. Amazing effort and it is a great starting point. Certainly sparks alot of discussion....but many take it way too serious. If you aren't ranked where you think you should be then that will change as the season progresses....if the wins come. Can't wait for the start of the season!
  3. Will do. I am not in the loop as much as past years but still follow Baylor and try to keep up with the other teams. Yes, I too think McCallie will be the team to beat this year. They have a strong senior class no doubt. I also left out Cleveland and they should have a fine team also with a great senior class. Not sure if Sam Williams played in the CCS scrimmage. He is just incredible....blazing speed. Also, an incredible running back. Not sure why Kerr is transferring. I think alot of guys just get burned out and just want to be a college student sometimes. Can't really blame them either way. I was surprised also about T Murphy. I think that Baylor and CCS will do fine this year as well.....but man do they have alot of talent to replace. Both had tremendous senior classes last year.
  4. Page 20 of the TSSAA handbook states that any sport other than football may play one scrimmage against alumni per year...Coach Blair and Coach Weekley would know the rules on this. It is a great thing to do.
  5. If I can get a score I will post it. I went to Baylor Friday to watch the Baylor team scrimmage the Baylor alumni..was alot of fun to watch. A couple of players from the last 2 years played....Van Valkinburg, Andrew Roden, Carter Paden, Kelly Smith, JB Murphy and others from years back further. One guy had graduated in 1985 I think. This years team will have to mature fast for sure. Sounds like the same goes for CCS. This scrimmage will be good experience for them both no doubt.
  6. CCSMAN...can't believe it is soccer time again. Great assessment of players lost to graduation. As you said Baylor was hit hard with graduation with Roden, Wilson, Smith, Danny V, Davis, and also Carter Paden. CCS was hit just as hard for sure. Both these teams will be rebuilding but will still be in the thick of things in no time. McCallie has a strong senior class so will most likely be top ranked starting the year off. Heard that Carter Kerr was transferring from King College to UTK in the fall. But still with as hard as Baylor as CCS were hit with graduation they will most likely still be top 5 in the area. In no certain order probably McCallie, Baylor, CCS, Boyd and who else? I heard that Thomas Murphy (Baylor's JB Murphy from a few years ago) is the goalie for Hixson this year.
  7. I wish I could have been there...but the updates from bucklateral and silverpie made it exciting. As everyone does...I wish Cole could have been there. Very disappointing for this young man, his family and for Baylor. But his brother winning a state title was sweet for the Hayes family and Cole will be back next year. It has been a tough year for Baylor with Coach Morgan losing his son....what a role model in courage he is though. Very excited to see Doster win state over Hooker! To Father Ryan....you guys really stepped it up and I want to congratulate the Irish for winning state. Look's like Baylor and Father Ryan have quite a rivarly going on for year's to come. Also, CBHS.....very nice showing. You guy's are in there as well and next year will be very interesting. To Baylor, guys you have so much to be proud of. I know it is not what we wanted....but what a year guys! To win the duals championship and place 2nd in traditionals.....is great by most standards.
  8. I completely agree with you here....all three are class acts. I really admire Coach Morgan...he is a great man. He has handled himself with alot of courage going through what he has had to endure with the loss of his son. Courageos man and mentor to the Baylor wrestlers and students.
  9. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Well I can't hide my disappointment....I had high hopes that even without Cole we (Baylor) could win. But it was not in the cards and I want to say congratulations to Father Ryan. You had some guys really step up. I am very proud of our guys as well. Doster...way to come out with a huge win! Bucklateral and Silverpie.....many thanks for the continued updates!
  10. That's how it looks to me....bucklateral are you still there?
  11. Gotta feel for the Hayes family on this one. With Cole being out and Chanse in the finals....alot of nerves.
  12. No worries....I will join the hunt with you. Wish I was there.
  13. Indeed it is! Great win for Doster....thanks for the updates bucklateral.
  14. Me too! Thanks for the updates and scoring...If you can keep the updates coming we would appreciate it!
  15. If these scores are correct then it could cost Baylor no doubt. I really hate it for Cole. I obviously don't know how to do scoring at all. I also had it that Baylor was slightly in the lead. With 2 3rd place winners, etc....this will be very interesting for sure.
  16. Can you explain countrypk....I take it Baylor is leading???
  17. Branton's article on chattanoogan.com says finals at 6:00 with parade of champions to follow. It is at 6:00.
  18. BBB....I don't know why in the world that guy got upset. If he looked at the whole article he would see that you gave interesting tidbits on a lot of wrestlers...most people appreciate it. You do a great job of covering wrestling and I for one love the background info you supply and like you said the coaches supply it to you. Keep up the great work!
  19. That's right. Just a huge loss for Baylor....I really feel for Cole. -24 points to start with may be too steep a hill to climb for the Red Raiders. But I would never count them out.
  20. I think I understand what you are saying....but I would hope Father Ryan and CB would rather wrestle a "full" Baylor team and not one that gives them a better chance without one of their defending state champions. This really makes me sick for Cole. You train all year and are ready to defend you state championship and now you can't wrestle. Very hard and tough on Cole and family. I know what you are saying....that now that Baylor loses 24 points to start with....it will make it close and given other schools a chance....but it sure does not make me excited to watch it unfold. Just glad it is not Cole's senior year.
  21. Could not make the game tonight but congrats to Baylor. Playing good basketball at the right time of the season. So Baylor plays Father Ryan next?
  22. Look out for Baylor's Sam Williams. Sam is so quick with excellent foot skills and is one of the fastest players around. He also lead D 2 in football this year...rushing. Also the leading rusher in Chattanooga football. Tremendous athlete.
