  1. Can you provide statistics for that number? If not it holds no credibility that a staff member happened to tell you that.
  2. How many East and West Tn refs were officiating at the tourney? According to you, one would think they were all from Mid Tn. And take your childish, idiotic stereotyping elsewhere.
  3. Why pummel, that is an excellent alternative to 2bleg's solution of crying and accusing refs of a far fetched conspiracy.
  4. Was wondering when the board's resident jacka$$ was going to show up. Guess I just got my answer. Pretty sure I'm not the one spewing out absurd conspiracies against a certain region of the state. I actually find you quite amusing, but I do feel sorry for whoever has to ride back with you to Memphis after a day of terrible officiating and your kids getting screwed solely because of their zip code.
  5. The one match does reflect it, and that's the problem. First, not sure about the other areas, but West TN teams have a hard time getting a fair shake by the middle TN refs. Not the same for the other 3 areas, but for middle TN refs it sure is. And it's to the point where one coach (that doesn't complain) said that he has to adjust the way he coach's a match, because of history of calls his team gets in middle TN. Next, it was this same ref that called another match just that same day, that cost that kid the match. Not sure I have ever seen this in all the years with the tournament in Chatt, but have seen it on more than a dozen matches in middle TN. And quite a few this year alone. I'm glad to hear that new refs are moving into the area, but the progress doesn't seem to be happening fast enough. This one poor kid will have to live with the fact that he was cost a state championship because of a ref. One bad call does happen, but not an entire match. And then, to see that it was the same ref calling another horrible match in the same tournament is a bit much. So now there's a conspiracy against West TN wrestlers when Mid TN refs are involved? Or let me guess that's not what your trying to imply at all. (Just like a few weeks ago you weren't implying that West TN officiating is ahead of Mid TN right?) Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? I'm not one to defend officials and I know there is room for imrovement, but I've never seen anyone cry as much as you do about them.
  6. Does anyone know if the finals will be streamed on the internet?
  7. Maybe you need to take the chip off your shoulder. The article was not intended to, nor does it, bash Baylor or anyone else with a loss. It simply recognizes these young men for what they have accomplished. You should have stopped typing after, ....great seasons. Where does he claim that the article bashes Baylor?? He actually brings up a valid point. After all, I can remember Doug Blubaugh at a wrestling clinic a few years back saying that at almost 70 years old, he was still learning new wrestling and there is always someone out there who can beat you, thus making you a better wrestler.
  8. I never said it did not matter, just that D2 state champion has a much easier road to follow without regionals and not a full wgt. class except for two and only being 16 man bracket. State Champ is State Champ, I'd rather see A, AA, AAA so on, as compaired to D1 D2. Pummelking, you are right about DII being easier to win. I made a request to my sons coach to move into DII because it is easier to win a state than DI. I can't figure out why more schools don't do this. Because according to the DI Gestapo on this board, all DII teams must surely spew out athletic sholarships and financial aid to every wrestler on the roster in addition to recruiting them from far away places. They also claim it is simply not possible that these wrestlers come from feeder programs that are affiliated with the mentioned schools and there is no way they have been brought up in private schools their whole lives. If your team meets this criteria then DII will be more than happy to have you. You should also reread some previous posts on this thread which show that it is, in fact, not easier to win state in The DII than in the other division. It varies with each weight class. For example, no one in the DII or DI could beat Croy or Allen of Mt J, however the same can be said for a healthy Zach Watson or Cole Hayes against DI. Just because one division may have the advantage in quantity, certainly does not mean they have an advantage in quality.
  9. You must be an middle TN ref. Thanks Nope, but I guess that's better than being called a West Tn ref.
  10. Finally, 2bleg has a thread of his very own.
  11. Show me where I said that. You can't, becauase I didn't. I simply said, that you don't see them getting involved in the matches, the same way you see the middle TN refs. Oh, I'm sorry, I assumed by making that statement you considered them to be better officials. Not really sure what you mean then. Your right, the refs in West Tn don't get involved which leads to many brawls and poor sportsmanship and not wrestling matches. And when the west tn teams go elsewhere in the state and get called for penalty points or obvious stall calls, I now know why it's such a mystery to you and them. Thanks for clarifying.
  12. I'm sorry, I can't take you seriously anymore since you basically just said the refs in West Tn are better than those in the mid state.
  13. Oh absolutly! I'd say, one school in particular, has no clue. Because they call for stalling every minute, of every match. And I agree, we have some good officials, just no where near enough. And my thought, is the bad ones become too much of an issue. Need to have a head official rating these guys, and letting them know after their matches what went right, and what they did wrong. 2bleg, It seems to be the norm for you to come on here and b***h and moan about the refs all the time- no matter what tourney, dual match, etc. You habitually give the refs way too much credit by ranting about how they always seem to determine the outcome of a match. It's ridiculous! On another thread you insult Chris Agnew's dec over Johnson by calling it a track meet?! What was the point? CBHS bumped a stud to get a win and it didn't happen, ACTUALLY, I believe Agnew got a T2 in the third, while Johnson did not and that decided the match. In fact, after looking at the live update site and tallying the stall warnings, the stall calls were even for both teams 4-4. Don't quote me on that though, but feel free to look it up yourself since you seem so hllbent on blaming the officials for every match. Don't worry about another team's fans yelling stalling when your fans do the same. FYI, just because in the last 30 seconds of a match when a wrestler has been losing and they then decide to turn it up and actually try no set ups, but just charging and pushing out of bounds is not a reason to say they were screwed out of the match. That's why they wrestle 3 periods ANYWAYS, what should have been said from the beginning, is congrats to both teams. Both wrestled hard and there were some good matches. Congrats to CBHS on making it to the finals for the first time, appears only more will come. Looking forward to the traditional with all 4 of the teams competing for the championship OH, and congrats to BC in what turned out to be a competitive final.
  14. Buck, When are you going to give everyone your predictions of this state dual? You haven't made your predictions elsewhere have you? Surely you will not miss out on predicting what looks to be the most competitive duals we've had in a while- injuries or not.
  15. I must say that the Bay-CBHS semi is very intriguing. A final between Ryan & CBHS would be even more so, IMO ,CBHS matches up veeery well with Ryan. Having said that, I'd still like to see CBHS over the pantyhosed boys. Ghouse, correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like the Purple wave can achieve a first by getting into the finals and possibly winning it. Have they ever made it to the finals? This is one of the more interesting Duals we've had in quite some time and McC shouldn't be taken lightly by FR either.
