  1. Blackman 1 - Cookeville 0, Great Game. Hoepfully both teams will meet in district, then maybe the finals at state, and that will show what a tough district it is. Hopefully the two teams won't beat each other up like the SEC does, so they can continue thier great play through the region and state. This rivalry is definitely making both teams better. Great sportsmanship thoughout the game, even though both teams were physical.
  2. I have ours, I just wanted to see everyone elses. It amazes me that White County got some all district players, even though they don't play in the district, with the exception of the tournament. How does that happen?
  3. Where can we find the complete results of the All District Teams, in particular 7 AAA. Thanks
  4. Cookeville 4 - Siegel 2 Blackman 3 - Lebanon 0
  5. Thanks G and Kimbo. People get way to personal. Just so we are all clear, especially you matron9, according to NFHS Soccer Rules, Rule 6, Page 33 section 2 Art 3"Time starts when the ball is put into play and stop the timing device by the referee for an injury, for a penalty kick, for a caution, for disqualification, following a scoring of a goal and when an official orders the clock to be stopped." I don't see anything in the rules that says to stop time because you are on a attack. You have your chances in the game, just because you are in an attack on the last second, doesn't mean you don't stop the time. Heck if you are in your half of the game, throwing down the line, you are technically in a attack. However, if someone was just awarded a corner and my watch went off and the kid was about to kick the corner, I wouldn't blow the whistle. I am a stickler for the rules, but come on, most referees are not heartless. However, if you were in state, as Big G stated, you wouldn't get that corner. This is part of the reason referees get so much crap, because not everyone knows the rules, they think they know the rules. So in your scenario WestTNMatron9, I would have to stop the clock and the penalty kick would be made. We are not perfect and make mistakes, remember that, especially when you are on the pitch playing a perfect game. The question was ask. "Can a ref end a Tennessee H.S game when someone is 10 ft from the opponents goal about (foot coming down) to shoot?" And I anwsered the questions, which was yes, he can, and be very much in his right to do so. Sorry I got so defensive, but I try to read the rules and go by them the best I can and most referees are the same.
  6. A game ends when it ends. On a corner kick, counter attack etc... However, for whatever reason, most refs will wait until an attack is finished, but they should not do that, they should blow the whistle.
  7. I will disagree. We recently played both teams. I say from Father Ryan's performance last night, that they are a very solid team with a very good midfield. There record does not reflect how they are playing now. I say FR wins 3 - 1.
  8. Not sure what you mean or what you are looking for. They were two very good teams. Each goal was a quality goal. IT was a tale of two halfs. MBA took the first half and Blackman took the second half, each having quality chances. I expected a low scoring game. Both defenses were very good.
  9. Blackman 0 - Cookville 0 Great game by both teams, it was a lot of fun to watch. They both played hard soccer. Both teams had opportunites.
  10. I think it's at Oakland, and it should start next week.
  11. I know some of the players on that team and I can bet most are not saying it was the grass that cause the lost. Anyway, it's there home field, they ought to be used to it. Brentwood did play at home right?
  12. Does it really matter, come on. Get to districts, regionals, sectionals, state, all the rankings in the world doesn't help you win, it doesn't help where you are seeded, it really doesnt mean anything.
  13. Thanks for clarification. I wasn't sure. You're right about districts. That's what I keep reminding my son. You could loose or win every game in the season, but from districts on, if you loose, unless you make it to the championship game, you're out. This year has really been good soccer. This district is starting to be competetive from top to bottom and it's good to see. I think this is the first year that any 4 teams that has a chance to be the top two teams to advance from our district. It's anybodys this year.
  14. I think last year, #1 team got a by, because White County didn't play in the district tournament
  15. Blackman 3 - Warren County 0
  16. Let it go and I hope someone closes this post. New coach, two entirely different teams.
  17. Looks as if last game they moved Patrick to the midfield. Looks to be a great move and it provided a little more offense. I think Riverdale wins 1-0. Unless there is a mistake in the back Siegel will probably not score.
  18. Not completely, two of the pictures towards the bottom with the Blackman Player is Ben Gracia
  19. I think soccer would benefit in a rule change of having no ties. Just liket he NHL, could do two 5 minute overtime, then go directly to PK's. I think it would be exciting, especailly in High School Soccer. It would give an opportunity for goal keepers and teams to practice PK's. Thoughts?
