  14. Would you be willing to travel to Chattanooga? We have a 15-16 year old team that needs one more player. It would be in a "pick up" type capacity. It would be full time, but we work with families if you have other things planned. You can send me an email at rustonpierce@gmail.com
  15. Logan Long, Junior SS, Grace Academy (Chattanooga), already being watched by Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds
  16. Whether it's right or wrong, you promote the kids who you SEE working. That doesn't mean the others aren't, but you can only tell a college coach what you see happening. As far as level of play in Chattanooga, it is down. Look at the state tournaments over the last 10 years. Chattanooga does not have a strong presence there. I have talked to several college coaches who are friends of mine who have said they can go to Atlanta or Nashville and get an average player who, for whatever reason, always plays better than a hyped kid from Chattanooga. I have to think the reason is that there are much more competitive summer programs in those cities where players are being pushed to develop or get left behind.
  17. I direct a summer baseball program who competes with the Cyclones. I have known George Koontz for a long time. He does a good job running his program and publicizing his players. I also am a high school head coach and I have had players who played for the Cyclones. Whether you agree with how they run their organization or not, it is completely unnecessary to get on this forum and make derogatory statements about the Cyclones. They are just trying to increase the level of play in Chattanooga, like Fury Baseball, CBC and the Cherokees are doing. There are more than enough players who need development, and honestly baseball in Chattanooga is behind the rest of the state so we need these organizations. These organizations are doing good work, and they should be admired for it. Any program that encourages kids to pursue college is a good program!
  18. We are still needing a few more players so please contact the above address if interested. A few recent additions to the Fury Baseball Program - we are now Team Under Armour as well as the area representative for FCA Baseball!

    TBCA Clinic

Thanks! I'm sure they will add more. I look forward to hearing Fred Corrall, Mike Policastro and Coach Clark. I love this clinic. Every coach in Tennessee should be there.

Does anyone know who will be speaking at the clinic this year? I checked the website but nothing was posted yet.
  22. I will testify that the Cookie Jar is awesome. A little hard to find but very worth the drive. My wife and I try to go there any time we are in Dunlap. Amazing food!!
  23. On Sunday, August 22nd from 3:00-5:00 Fury Academy in Chattanooga will be hosting an Open House for baseball. After a successful inaugural season this summer, Fury Baseball will be expanding to host teams and players from age 9-18. Any interested teams, players, coaches or parents should attend the Open House to find out what opportunities are available to them as a member of a Fury team. Feel free to come by any time during the Open House. For contact info and address please go to www.furyacademy.net
  24. Every sporting good supplier I have talked to have said the BBCOR sticker will be required. I can't see the Federation allowing it to be up to umpires. With that logic it would be possible to show up to a game with no legal bats. Won't happen. I had a dealer tell me a couple of days ago that the bat companies are chomping at the bit to start selling BBCOR only.
  25. Does anyone know the schedule for the Chattanooga Jamboree? I heard it had been released but can't find it anywhere.
