  1. They wanted it more!! First couple of minutes TNFC scored a cross from Bradley Jacobs to Brandon Tarr, then KFC got a PK in the first half, KFC's second goal bounced off one the defenders then deflect off KFC and bouncd over the goalie. I guess all the all star's added didn't do a bit of good, sometimes chemistry to a team is more important than a bunch of all stars on team. Hopefully the coach learned a valuable lesson. GO CRUSH!! There were key injuries, Stephen Morrissey and Charles Rodriguez.
  2. Nope! An actual sports fan. An athlete when I was younger playing sports in high school, in which the rule of thumb has not changed, seniors are typically voted into those rewards and recognition, because they are seniors. They are pretty good at their position, but generally not the best..I know the players in the district 7, region 4, so I know who the best are.
  3. I don't know, but I am sure it was mostly seniors, whether they deserve it or not. Maybe in the future in stead of recognizing seniors who are somewhat talented, they will recogonize players no matter where they are in high school.
  4. No, he would have violated the independent game rule by playing for a club team during the high school season, doesn't matter if you are rostered or not with your high school team.
  5. I wonder who chose the all area team, because they obviously didn't watch much of the area play. Just my opinion, but Patrick Compton, I saw on many many occassions bailing out that defense and was very consistent in delivering the ball to the midfield or forwards. He definitely should have been one of those defenders. How bout Matt Reed, he could have been forward or midfielder. Didn't he make it last year? I think he had something like 15 goals and was probably in on most assist, and this was spending half the time in a forward position. I guess one of the rules of thumb when it comes to high school is you have to give to seniors, what a croc. http://www.dnj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?A.../606080316/1006 These would have been my picks James Holt - Riverdale Patrick Compton - Riverdale Tim Reed - Riverdale Griffin Tuggle -Blackman Austin Hayes - LaVergne Dan Campbell - Riverdale Matt Reed - Blackman Jose Cruz - Riverdale Shane Rollins - Riverdale Kennon Todd Siegle Larpin - Siegle Just my opinion
  6. Riverdale takes it. Riverdale's defense is more solid in the back than even Blackman's defense, however if Cookeville can get some crosses in, they have a chance to score. They only had about 5 or 6 shots against blackman, but three of those went in, they were quality crosses and big finishes. But I agree Riverdale will take it and the score will be 3 or 4 to 0.
  7. How bout some of the best midfielders?
  8. Just wonding why the select teams from MSC aren't allowed to practice or play on the new soccer complex. Isn't that the reason they built it? Second question, how come they don't support thier Select Program and have qualified Director of Coaching to help with not only their Recreation Program but Select Program? Third question, why don't the select parents just break away from the Club, start their own Club. They would be able to use the Soccer Complex, since it's own by the city and the tax payers help pay for it. The cost is minimal to be a part of TNSoccer/USYSA. A soccer program as large as MSC and with a complex so nice, they could bring in a lot of money to help support a DOC. Maybe then they wouldn't loose all of thier quality players to Franklin and Smyrna.
  9. Any awards being given out to Blackman Soccer Boys or Girls, I hadn't heard of anyone being invited to this banquet from our school?
  10. You do have to compare players, so if you are putting a team I think this is how it should go. James Holt - Goalie Griffin Tuggle - Sweeper Patrick Compton - Defender Cory Willis - Defender Austin Hayes - Defender Micah Morrissey - Midfield Dan Campbell - Midfield Matt Reed - Midfield Jose Cruz - Midfield Shane Rollins - Forward Aliyu Sirga (sp?) - Forward I think this would be a good all district team as well, but I haven't watch some of the other teams, especially not in our county. Bold should make all district!
  11. Blackman is over rated. They may get second in the district tournament, but it's Riverdale's to loose!
  12. 1-0 Riverdale. Jose Cruz with the score
  13. Two reasons: First the Murfreesboro Soccer Club who cares nothing about select soccer, which is why it's run by parents instead of them. Hopefully one day someone with enough money and resources will come in and say enough is enough and just like TNFC did many years ago will branch off and have an outstanding recreation program as well as a select program, but that's a whole different subj. Second reason is a coach, now assistant coach who did not let go of our team and still refuses to let go. A coach who is a very good person and loves kids, but is not qualified to take teams to the next level just wouldn't give up the team. People know he formed the team and people know he's a great person to be around and loves soccer, really really loves soccer, but just couldn't get rid of his rose colored glassess on what kind of coach he really was. He develop some good players, but if he had let the team go 4 years ago and let a more qualified, non-parent coach take over and just went to the side lines and enjoy his son, our team mate, this team could be competing in the premiere league and giving TNFC, KFC and MFC a run for thier money. Don't get me wrong, I know he formed this team and it's a tough thing to do, but give me a break. Hopefully, if he is coaching is youngest son and his youngest is as good as his eldest, he will know when to let go this time.
