  1. 11-5 CBHS moves on. So its BGA, Brentwood, Baylor, and CBHS...one question, does anyone know why the D II AA games are being played at BGA and the D II A games are being played at Lipscomb? Seems to me that you would want the games to be as neutral as possible so it would make sense to me to flip where the games are being played but that might make too much sense for the TSSAA.
  2. 11 to 5 CBHS in the bottom of the 6th. Barring a huge let down CBHS should move on. I'll post when there is a final score.
  3. I'll say Bartlett 7 Houston 3. Bartlett knows good and well though that Houston isn't going to roll over and this game is far from in the books so I have to feel like they will take care of business. In the other one I'd say Gtown 5 Arlington 4. I just have a feeling its going to be close, but who knows.
  4. My guess is Bartlett and Germantown. Houston or Arlington could surprise me though. At this point all it takes is a great game on Friday.
  5. I didn't say he wasn't good. He is a very good pitcher but I don't think he is a Cain or Pomeranz type pitcher. Those two guys were phenoms. They were too good for high school baseball and you could tell that when they took the mound. There is nothing wrong with not being a phenom, 99.9% of players aren't. As far as who is better in the state THIS YEAR I'm not sure. I've heard a lot about Sonny Gray but I have never seen him pitch.
  6. Their pitching is going to have to be stronger and deeper, because while they have hit the ball well this year, they have not at all hit it like they did last year. Their homeruns are down by about 30 from this time last season and they aren't scoring at will like they were last year. The pitching is going to be key for them this year. I still think its between them and Farragut but anything can happen.
  7. Gant is really good. Probably even outstanding but he isn't a phenom. He is USJ's ace but he has been beaten this year so he is beatable. Bartlett didn't hit the ball well that night (it was very cold) and it was a tight 3-2 ballgame.
  8. The path to the championship game is tough, but I wouldn't be surprised to see these two playing for the title.
  9. Bartlett is very good. They only lost one everday starting senior but they did lose 4 of the 6 pitchers they had last year that pitched in the state tournament. They are currently ranked 6th in the nation by The Baseball Coaches Association. I would say they or Farragut are the teams to beat.
  10. Wow, everyone is on edge. When trojan said "he" I believe he was talking about Coach Clark and he was saying that it is already determined who is pitching. My guess is Heath, but I think I may have been wrong once before so there is a less then .5 % chance it is someone else. Justdontno, game time is 7:30.
  11. CBHS 12 ECS 0 in five. CBHS is the one seed, ECS the two seed and Briarcrest will be the three seed. East/Middle, let me know how your seedings end up.
  12. At first glance it was incredibly confusing but there is really no other way to say it, its just a confusing set up now. Post in this thread when you know more about how the seedings are playing out, and thanks for the info you already provided.
  13. CBHS beat Briarcrest last night 11-1 which means Briarcrest will be traveling to play the number 2 team out of east/middle. CBHS then was able to beat ECS 8-6 to force a final regional championship game tonight. Both teams will be playing at home in their three game substate series so tonights game is more for seeding and pride. Anybody from east/middle...how are yalls seedings shaping up? How are they even doing the seedings now that it is considered one region?
  14. I wasn't sure if you were saying sectional or SEC and making a wise crack.
  15. I'm not sure how to take the title of the thread, but to answer your question they lost last night to ECS 9-8 in 10 innings. You can read about it in the commercial appeal. They play Briarcrest today at 4:30 (weather permitting) with the loser having to travel for a substate series and the winner playing ECS for the region championship but ECS will have to be beaten twice. ECS, Briarcrest, and CBHS have all already qualified for substate berths.
  16. Just don't try to sell me he is just a supporter and doesn't cause trouble. He didn't really offend me, just made himself look like a moron. I don't get offended by people who don't know any better.
  17. I can actually quote berenator in saying "you must be on crack to think CBHS could beat Bartlett". What would you say were his intentions?
  18. Wasn't so much refferring to you as I was the phantom Bartlett people that create a screen name to jump on and post one or two times about how Bartlett is God's gift to baseball. Willbrenth, leftylegend, and berenator to name a few.
  19. Yes he is, it is quite apparrent if you haven't noticed.
  20. Hats off for Jordan coming in and striking out the side. That is a tough spot to be put in and from Bearden's standpoint they have to find a way to get a couple of runs across with the bases loaded and no outs. Pretty impressive they were able to get out of that situation.
  21. If that is his attitude you have nothing to worry about. If he wants it he will find a place that works for him, I wouldn't worry another minute about it.
  22. When I was coming out of high school which wasn't all that long ago my dad always told me if I want to play I need to find a place I can play at. Not everyone is SEC material, not everyone is D1 material but MOST not all but most high school ball players are good enough to play somewhere if they want it bad enough. Whether that means D1, D2, D3, or NAIA. I would look at smaller school and get in contact with them. I know CBU has an online recruiting form to fill out and other small schools may have the same thing. More than likely your son is good enough to play somewhere but he may have to be willing to compromise if hes always dreamed of going to some big school. He'll have to decide which means more, continuing to play or going where hes wanted to go.
