  1. Todd mayo will be the first ever player coach in hs history.
  2. Yessir! It is truly that bad. I have lived in the greater Memphis area for the last 25 plus years and it has never been worse with turnover. Go Trojans!
  3. Westwood talking trash..... Comedy man... Comedy!
  4. Bolton is going to have a very long season! Bartlett ( who may go 2-8 ) totally dominated the wildcats. Only 1 first down in the first half. Bad way to start the year especially against a bitter rival. Where did all the athletes that Bolton used to throw out there go?
  5. Of the four teams in the bridges this year, Melrose has struggled the most during the preseason. They are not your normal Golden Wildcat team. Cbhs could very well run away with this one. The Mus vs MIllington game could be interesting. Both teams will be starting new qb's and searching for leaders to step foward. The old coaching adage applys perfectly to this one "the team that makes the least mistakes will win this one.", " run and stop the run!" Go Trojans!
  6. I will Not be surpised at all when whitehaven loses again in the quatterfinals of the playoffs by two points because they miss two extra points. It happens a lot All kidding aside... Good luck to Whitehaven this year... Go Trojans!
  7. Former MIllington Head Coach and MUS assistant Tommy Harrison has passed away. He was a Great Coach and an even better Man! He will truly be missed. My heart goes out to his wife and family during this difficult time.
  8. I am not sure what you can learn from a Jamboree. Millington scrimmaged and dominated Houston for 2 hours last week but lost 7-0 last night. The goal was to stay injury free. Mission accomplished. Go Trojans!
  9. It's going to be.a fun year! I am not going to make any outlandish predictions, but it appears that this team is very coachable which is a key ingredient to success. I am looking forward to seeing our playmakers make plays on both sides of the ball. Go Trojans!
  10. You are right, It is GREAT to be back! There is a lot to talk about with all the coaching changes in the Memphis area. I think that both Duron Sutton (Ridgeway) and Lynard Crutchfield (Woodale) are great hires for both teams. Sutton did an outstanding job at Kingsbury before politics ended his tenor there. Crutchfield did an excellent job at Cordova before leaving to take a job in Mississippi. It's good to see him back in the Memphis area. He will continue to build on Woodale's recent success. It's not going to seem right to look over at the Collierville sidelines and not see Paul Cox. Sean Abel will be the man that follows the man so to speak. He has been a long time assistant and is probably well deserving of his shot. It's going to be interesting to see what kind of changes if any he makes to the Collierville program. My Trojans have a new man in charge of the sidelines as well. Chris Michael is the New HC at Millington. He has made a huge difference in a short period of time. This has been the best off-season and pre-season in recent memory for the Trojans. The Jamboree's are tonight. I have alway's enjoyed the huge crowds and excitement of the jamborees here in the county. Go Trojans!
  11. We wonder why West football and specifically Memphis are a football isn't taken serious by others Iin the state? The defending state champ in class AAAAAA doesn't turn in info for the Murphy Fair magazine. Totally laughable! I guess Big Dev was too busy yucking it up on the radio. The football here in Memphis is getting better, but we need to be more selective in who we put in charge of the young men. The things that some of the coaches are doing on and off the field are not acceptable and needs to be addressed. Go Trojans!
  12. That's not a good sign for the red devils. Central is improving but... Go Trojans!
  13. For those of you that didn't know....the shelby county jamboree is this Friday at Arlingon. Millington, Houston, Bartlett, Bolton, Southwind, and Arlington will be the teams participating. Go Trojans!!
  14. Scrimmage is still taking place today. It will be a true scrimmage. Go Trojans!
  15. What a way to get the season started. Thoughts?
  16. The annual preseason scrimmage between Millington and Houston is always a good one. Both teams get after it hard and the coaches get an early read and what they are doing well and what they aren't Go Trojans!
  17. Millington at Houston scheduled for this upcoming friday.
  18. I can't help you on the scrimmage for yesturday, but I am looking forward to see what the Panthers are about in a couple weeks at the jamboree. Losing their top offensive threat to graduation has to be a concern seeing that their wasn't much help behind him last year. But, alot can happen from one year to the next! Good luck to your panthers except when they face my Trojans!! Go Trojans!
  19. There is not doubt that you guys will compete this year. You have some Massive OT's. #66 looked young but he is going to be a monster one day. Go Trojans!
  20. Danny.it was a nice scrimmage! Great crowd!! The little scat back for Mus (#3) is a player. I thought that mus got the best of whitehaven in this one. but, I think that both teams learned alot about themselves tonight. They are both better off. Go Trojans!
  21. My bad. If that's the case, then they are indeed better than just good. I stand corrected. Go Trojans!
  22. Brentwood Academy is a good team. But they are not what they once were. Other schools in Nashville have popped up and made them share some of the talent that they used to keep for themselves. With that being said, It should be one great test for Southwind on the 27th. Go Trojans!
  23. MUS vs Whitehaven would be fun to watch. I am sure that both teams will be tested. It's tough to predict who is going to win a scrimmage though beacause both teams will be using alot of players. Some of which will never see the field once the bullets start flying live under the lights on friday nights. GOOD LUCK to both teams. Stay Injury FREE! Go Trojans!
  24. Thanks for the correction OmahaVol. The late season matchup with Lafayette should be quite the test. Go Trojans!
  25. Thanks. Our Non League Schedule includes MUS, CBHS, and Lafayatte, MS. MUS is the 2 time defending state champ, CBHS is loaded and a traditional power, and Lafayette, MS made it to the State Semis in the state of MS's largest classification last year. Go Trojans!
