  1. Siegel is only 2-1 in the district. Wins over Lebanon and Oakland, a loss to Warren Co.
  2. I can remember getting drilled by Oakland in the early 90's. Oakland's biggest problem in soccer can be summed up in one word. Siegel. Siegel zone includes most of the neighborhoods that produce soccer players. Oakland has held its own in all of the other sports, but soccer is the one that has been most hurt by Siegel's openning 4 years ago. Siegel's coach is even an Oakland grad.
  3. The keeper did handle the ball improperly, there was no supposedly about it. Siegel played like a team coming back from spring break.
  4. Siegel 3 Shelbyville 2 Ravenwood 2 Siegel 1 Warren County@Siegel Saturday 3/17. Varsity starts at 5:00
  5. Ravenwood 2 Siegel 1 Ravenwood has a nice side. Weather wasn't great. Siegel lead 1-0 at the half. Ravenwood finished opportunities in the second half, Siegel didn't.
  6. Did the Siegel bus run over your dog or something? I would say finishing in the top four would qualify a team as a state title contender. They beat some good team so you can't even say that it was a fluke. Now that I've got that off my chest, I'll stick to the proper topic of Boy's soccer. Mjuhb, you've got Shelbyville overrated. They have a nice team, but they are nowhere near a top fifteen team.
  7. Actually, football does go all the way to AAAAA. We just shorten it to 5A. I do agree that there just aren't enough public school teams to justify a split into classes.
  8. It's the same as every other TSSAA sport(except football)
  9. District 7 Boys 1. Smyrna 2. LaVergne Girls 1. Siegel 2. Blackman
  10. I'll echo that thought. Congrats to Bearden. And I had an excellent seat for the Siegel-Collierville game. That game will bug me for the next couple of months.
  11. If you will look at the date of the post you quoted it was from Feb. '06. So it was in reference to the season that just finished, not next season. Don't read too much into that Collierville score. The game was much closer than the final score.
  12. What would you correct just out of curiosity?
  13. Siegel's boys are 3-0, they beat LaVergne yesterday 15-12. Smyrna is also undefeated. Siegel's girls are 2-0.
  14. It seems I left about 5 min. too early. Riverdale made a great comeback. 2 goals in the last 15 of the first and then two more in the second. Cookeville woke up the last 15 and made it a great finish. Siegel v. Riverdale 7:00 Thursday night at Riverdale
  15. Siegel 5-0 over Lebanon. Siegel played mostly second team and J.V. during the second half. Congrats to Lebanon on a great year and to Coach McDowell for being District 7 coach of the year. When I left, Cookeville was leading Riverdale 3-0 with 20 min. left in the 1st half.
  16. The J.V. District Tournament is at Siegel Saturday. Game 1 - 8:00 Blackman (H) vs. Oakland (A) on practice field Game 2 - 10:00 Siegel (H) vs. Lebanon (A) on practice field 1:00 - 3 vs. 4 match: Losing team from Game 1 (H) vs. Losing team from Game 2 (A) on Stadium field 2:30 Championship Match: Winner game 1 (H) vs. Winner game 2 (A) on Stadium Field
  17. Siegel (AAA) 19 players, 2 of whom dress for varsity games. All are freshmen or sophomores.
  18. I can think of one time back in the early 90's at Columbia Central before they added girl's soccer. She played with us for two years.
  19. Siegel's entire back four has played well this year, and as for your keeper comments, she has only given up 4 goals this entire season(not counting scrimmages), two of which no one could have saved and I have seen every game. She has made several great stops this year.
  20. Anna Grace Gerhart and Abbey Roark of Siegel (although the keeper has also been great this year!)
  21. The red was a "soft" red. Shelton and two players got yellows in the first 5 min. None of which were deserved. The guy who gave the majority of the cards was the same guy who gave all of the cards in the Siegel -Greeneville game last year at Katie Hunter. Hendersonville looked tired, they had played Oak Ridge the night before. Siegel wasn't in much better shape, they were tired and beat up as well. Siegel converted their chances, Hendersonville didn't.
  22. Siegel and Centennial Tied 1-1. Hard fought game. Both teams had their chances to win.
  23. I talked to her tonight at the Siegel/Centennial game. She should be back in a week or so. She is still limping pretty good.
  24. She was injured today. They saw Centennial friday night.
