  1. So the win against Sycamore doesn't mean much at all? No, well okay.
  2. So, I was just looking at the Tennessean's final scores and I was supposing that CA would have lost to Sycamore, but low and behold I saw the final score of CA-75 and Sycamore-48 at Sycamore. With this said, I was wondering: what does a victory over the second place team in class AA district 6 mean for this program and for it's possibilities of going a long way this post season?
  3. I am sorry if I am not understanding something here or barging in on this conversation when I am not supposed to, but I was wondering what this comment has to do with the post that the Clarksville Academy basketball player posted?
  4. To be absolutely honest, if Clarksville Academy plays this game like they did against East Robertson they will blow out White House Heritage. I think Clarksville Academy will win this game by at least 10 because they have so many different ways they can beat teams, but if it is an off night, which has definitely happened this year, White House-Heritage can definitely win.
  5. Anyone know the final score of the Clarksville Academy and DCA game?
  6. CA beat Daviess County, KY. 71-62 in the first game, but lost to Greenwood, KY. 70-46 in the second. Malcolm Smith scored 33 in the first game and 23 in the second game. If it weren't for a poor 3rd quarter, the Greenwood game would have been much closer. Greenwood only beat Daviess by 1 earlier this year. Today, CA is playing a good team in Henry-Clay High School who beat Greenwood pretty good in the tournament; they are currently 7-3. I think CA can match up with these guys, they just have to be mentally prepared. Yesterday, I think they may have lost their second game because some of the guys may have not been used to playing more than one game in a day like summer AAU teams do. -On a side note, in-state power Briarcrest Christian beat Daviess County 55-42 about a week and a half earlier, which shows that Daviess County is a little bit better than their 1-7 record reflects. I'm excited to see where this Clarksville Academy team ends up this year.
  7. CA is going to be facing some big tests over the Christmas Break when they go to face some pretty good Kentucky basketball teams in Henry Clay High School and Daviess County in the Franklin-Simpson Classic. I feel like these games will show what this team is going to do come the end of the year. It will be interesting to see how they react in a tournament environment like this one in a state that thrives on basketball.
  8. As usual, I have to add both Malcolm Smith and Martin Smith of Clarksville Academy to the equation. Those two guys are going to continue to get better and are going to be Division 1 prospects in the next couple of years. I would not be surprised if these two help carry this basketball team to a state championship in the future.
  9. Good luck to the team over at Jo Byrns, I am personally a fan of Clarksville Academy but feel that you all have worked extremely hard over the past couple of years to get to this point. You are a very well coached football team, and I hope for the best in the State Championship this afternoon as you represent Region 5-A.
  10. I would agree, and I must add that history is on their side as well. In 1997, when Clarksville Academy went to the state championship out of region 5, CA got their heads handed to them on a platter and they had a pretty good team that year. I'm hoping this game will have the opposite effect and that it is close. I know both of these teams play physical football, but Trousdale County is the real deal after beating a team that could challenge and outright beat some of the 4A schools in Tennessee: South Pitt.
  11. I did hear that HC almost beat CA at the camp; however, I have also heard that CA didn't have a few of their starters out their due to football. I would not doubt one bit that HC will be competitive this year, but from the looks of who's back for who's team this year CA the has major components of their team back this year. Now, based on just that alone I assume CA wins the district out right, but we won't know until the season starts. District 10A has its share of great coaches and I wouldn't be surprised if I get thrown for a loop by the seasons end.
  12. Not a bad game for CA, keep your heads up guys and keep fighting to get better each game. You are already better than you were last year regardless of your record.
  13. Does the Rossview transfer have to sit out this season?
  14. I think that CA should win the regular season, the district tournament, possibly region, and will probably make it to the first or second round of State. I don't forsee them winning it all with teams like Manassas and Temple, but they have definitely proven a lot of people wrong since the beginning of last year. With the twins Malcolm and Martin, they will be very good as long as they don't get into foul trouble early in games.
  15. They do a lot of option out of the Wing-T and a little out of the I-formation. They do some Shot-Gun formations as well, usually when they get in the redzone.
  16. I enjoyed this game, but I just wanted to propose an idea. On the last play of the first half, I don't believe Cascade got the play off in reality. This game could(or should, depending on how people view this) have been much closer than it seemed and Clarksville Academy could have had the momentum going into the half with a lead of 7-6. With this idea established, Clarksville Academy may have won this game had they had the momentum on their side. Regardless though, Cascade is a well coached football team and could make some noise this year in the playoffs.
  17. I really don't know what to think about Clarksville Academy. I was not able to attend the Huntland-CA game, but apparently CA gained more yards than Huntland, but just came up short when points were needed. CA's defense is better overall than it was a year ago from what I hear. I have heard that Huntland scrimmaged some excellent teams over the summer and have made great strides since last year. I still think CA is atleast a year away from competing with the top of the region. Jo Byrns- 30 Clarksville Academy- 7
  18. MTCS-28 Perry County-14 -MTCS has a great head coach who has begun to instill some discipline in this program and it seems the players are buying into his system. I don't foresee MTCS losing this game, but we will see.
  19. They lost Leamon? What happened, did he get kicked off the team?
  20. Does anyone know where the Montgomery County Jamboree is going to be at this year? Any future responses will be truly appreciated.
  21. Do you have any idea of how many TD's were scored for each team?
  22. Yeah, I think 3 or 4 of their guys play football and also have been doing travel team baseball. We can never 100 percent tell how good a team is this early on. Who knows? NCS could end up winning again, or maybe even Jo Byrns. These outcomes may sound unlikely, but we just won't know until it comes to crunch time.
  23. I really don't know what to think so early on. I know Nashville Christian lost a good bit from last years team. I think it will be a lot like last years disrict, except that Nashville Christian will probably be beaten by a district team at some point in the season. It seems it may be a much stronger district from top to bottom. There may be a couple of teams that could make a run into the State Tournament this year. I'll be exciting to watch, that's for sure!
