Cookeville beats Blackman tonight 52-45. Solid game by both teams. Cookeville jumped out to a 10 point early lead but Carters 25 points helped Blackman close it back to 1. Too many turnovers for Blackman i thought.

On a lighter note. The refs this years are terrible!

I don't know why Cookeville isn't better than they should be with 2000+ kids. They have made it to region several times and just keep running into really good teams (two years ago they ran into Shelbyville who was one shot away from winning state that year) and times before they would either play Oakland or when White co. was good back in the late 1990's. So cookeville has had some good teams but so does this region. Plus, no brothers. Don't know why that is. Sparta has had twice as many brothers in the past ten years than Cookeville has even dreamed about having.

Ok Ok yall are right. Coach Bray supplied the paper for the students and told them to throw it. Cookeville has 11 to 13 guys that can throw down a dunk two handed. Delaney is super good and is in the same grade he has always been in since kindergarden and probably going to Duke or North Carolina. Mitchel I hear is getting offers from the Bulls. etc. . White Co. is by far the best team I have ever seen in 7aaa and will hands down win state.

haha well i guess i don't know what tradition is then but for the past 30 some years one game a year the students have thrown paper. And actually only 3 players on cookevilles team can dunk. Good try though. Here is my facts about Delaney. . . Hill is one of Cookevilles assistant coaches and he graduated two years ago. Growing up, Delaney was in the same grade as Hill and would play with, and against him. Now, two years after Hill has Graduated, Delaney is just a senior. Any more stupid posts you want to make?

hahaha what are you talking about earlybird? How does Bray know what the students are gonna do? Its a tradition at CHS and alot of other teams as well. Its totally a student thing and noone has to O.K. it. . As far as Mitchell out coaching Bray? What game were you watching? Look at the talent Bray has compared to WC. Plus not to mention Cookevilles best or second best scorer was on the bench most the second half due to injury. Also #22 is a jr. Not a 6th year senior like Delaney.

Thats only cause WC isn't good in football. About 10 years ago they had alot more than 27 players on the sideline.

Great game tonight by both teams. Both squads got down ten and never gave up. Good Atmosphere lots of fans both sides just how a Cookeville/Sparta game should be. White Co. is def beatable, but who isn't this year. As far as the refs? Terrible. Someone from white co. has to agree.

haha thank you squad. It is over let it rest. Its funny how you always have to go back ten years ago when something about cookeville/sparta comes up. Anyways I think this game will come down to the last min or so in the ball game and whoever can finish (not having T.O. and hitting free throws) will win this game. Can't wait should be a great crowd.

Wasn't there but listened to it and the Stars were up all game and Cookeville took the lead for the first time with about 2 mins left in the game. Couple clutch plays down the stretch helped seal the victory. Cookeville is just playing well right now and seems to have a confidence winning 4 straight distric games.

I am not mad becasue Cookeville lost to Dyer Co. Cookeville isn't a very good club this year. I def don't think Dyer Co. will win state either. And all I am saying is that i've seen alot of basketball played especially around the upper cumberlands and after watching this years WC team, i do not think they are any better than teams in the past. I understand how they could be ranked for their 12-0 start but ive just seen way better basketball. I guess the quallity of teams are down this year, or maybe for sure just in 7aaa.

White Co. is a joke. No way should they be ranked number 1 in the state. What is the state of TN basketball coming to?

Cookeville returns the most? Cookeville graduates 30+ seniors. I'm not sure of all positions but here's what I do know. 6 OL, HB, 4 WR(2 Starters), Top 4 DE's, Nose gaurd, 5 DB's (3 Starters), K/P. But I still think they can compete for a region crown next year. Cookeville lost 32 seniors after the 2005 season and came back and won their 3rd region championship in a row so don't count them out.

Cookeville really couldn't adjust to the quickness of DC. They must have had 40+ T.O. . . Suprised a little of the outcome but can only look forward. Goodluck to the rest of the teams.
