I agree . . . Maybe it is time for a new class in the state of Tennessee (6 A)??

I would think that Crockett would certainly stay in Region 1 5A and not travel to Knoxville, Oak Ridge and Ootlewah every other week. No disrespect to Crockett, but moving to 5A in football would be a nightmare for them.

I’m not sure what you are hearing whether positive or negative about Science Hill, but from what I have seen and heard is…SHHS looked very strong in their scrimmages in the spring. Granted the scrimmages were against Sullivan Central and South-Doyle, but looked pretty good with only 8 practices to support a new offensive system under Coach Smith. SHHS did well in 7 vs. 7 passing tournament at the Univ. of South Carolina last weekend against some of the best teams in NC and SC. SHHS is headed to UT this weekend. This will certainly help with the timing and the gelling of the quarterback and his receivers. And with one of the best backs in the state, I like our chances of doing well this upcoming season. O-line needs work, but with the new offensive line coach from West Tennessee and a new assistant coach from Byrnes HS, SC. Science Hill High School is serious about football! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

GOOD LUCK TO YOU GUYS...YOU DEFINITELY HAVE A TOUGH SCHEDULE. And yes, I hope you all stick it to D-B again in '07!

One thing is for sure they have a very good experienced quarterback to lead the way.

I'll wait to comment on what Science Hill may be bringing this fall after spring training, which starts Saturday.

Science Hill has certainly beefed-up their schedule by trading Sullivan Central and Cherokee for Sullivan South and Morristown West!

My son made a comment in the middle of last years football season that didn't sit well with me. He said, "dad, I don't think we are practicing hard enough, I think I am going to talk to coach Bowles". Gezz...How often does a player complain about not practicing hard enough in football? I'm going to let that speak for itself. I noticed none of you D-B'ers have commented on the realm of possibility that your beloved D-B could loss 2 or 3 regular season games this year. But, definitely jump on the possibility of SH beating you "this year" in your own backyard. "Ohh Noo" "Well, maybe sometime...once ever 13 times or so" ? A new Beast from The East is rising up!

Obviously, Science Hill running back Solomon Duannah and Sullivan South quarterback Curt Phillips has to be at the top of everyone's list.

I think here at Science Hill everyone can expect a NEW LOOK and a NEW ATTITUDE for the upcoming season! GO HILLTOPPERS!

Back to the TOPIC of NEW COACH @ SCIENCE HILL Coach Scott Smith will be moving into Johnson City Thursday 2/8 and will officially start his head coaching duties on Monday 2/12.

I was just curious as to where some of the top local players were going to play college ball next season? I heard the Lyons kid from Hampton has had some offers. Does anyone have an update on him? What is the latest on David Alexander from Science Hill? Surely he will play at the next level? What's the word on big Ben Murray from the Hill? Or will his bread be better buttered in wrestling? Jordan Castle from SHHS? Watson from Sevier? Pappas and Sensabaugh from D-B? Are they going on? These are just a few that come to my mind.

I agree 100% The certificates were nice, but not the same as receiving the letters.

topvol98 . . . I don’t know if the helmet designs you have on you’re signature will be what we use this year or not. But, I know when coach Smith pulled that helmet out my sons’ eyes lit-up. I like’em!
