  1. Sorry, its the Lakeway Classic around Morristown.
  2. Adidas Classic? I know of the Beaver Creek Classic that Halls and Gibbs sponsors, the Sportsbelle Classic that Farragut puts together, the Kevin Calia tourney in Oak Ridge, the Lakeshore Invitational around the Morristown area and the Athletic House tournament in Blount County, but I'm not familiar with the Adidas Classic unless it has been recently developed.
  3. Most teams will run their basic offense and defense and not show much to their future opponets. Start Time - 6 p.m. TSD vs. The King's Academy Not much to say about this as it is usually 7 on 7 football. Cosby vs Hardin Valley Academy Should be interesting to see Cosby being a smaller school vs. HVA playing their first year of varsity football Grace Christian vs Carter I'm most interested in seeing which players have replaced whom from last year. Powell vs Catholic What will be the new offense Catholic is running? Austin-East vs Halls How will Halls handle Austin East's speed and talent? HALFTIME ACTIVITIES (kickoff, punt, pass, lineman 50-yard dash, backs/ends 50-yard dash) Fulton vs Karns Which team has worked harder in the off season workouts to improve from last year's results? Bearden vs South-Doyle Will South Doyle improve or do they still lack the discipline from previous years? Webb vs Farragut My guess on best quarter of the night would be this one. Central vs Gibbs Both teams had rough seasons last year. Would be interesting to see which has improved more? CAK vs West This one should be a little more open as both teams have liked to throw it more often. It's worth the $8.00 bucks to see whom has what talent out there. Cheaper than a movie and popcorn if you don't but any concessions from UT.
  4. It's my understanding (after rereading the TSSAA web site) that the 5A/6A breakdown only applies to football. All other sports will be lumped as AAA for Catholic.
  5. The new district 3AA will definately be interesting next year. PF, GP, and Union County are now with AE, Carter, Fulton, and Gibbs. AE won't be anything to worry about but they were getting better this season. Carter and Fulton both could give teams trouble if they are not ready to play and Gibbs will be tough as they return all but one senior.
  6. Always go with your ace on Friday. Most teams at this level have a quality pitcher that they can bring in if needed for relief.
  7. CAK at Gibbs - Monday @ 7:30 pm
  8. Right now it's looking like Catholic and CAK coming out of 4AA if they don't finish their tournament. Both Eagle teams just need to take care of business.
  9. Seymour's starting pitcher just had an off night. He lasted 1 inning and he really couldn't find the strike zone. Gibbs showed more patience with their at bats and Justin Willis kept Seymour off balance most of the evening.
  10. I believe CAK beat Loudon last night 9-2.
  11. First thing there is only 6 teams in the district. Games were played at Gibbs (whom have a tarp) and Seymour (whose field drains fairly well). They also started the tournament last Thursday at both sites. Both sites got their 2 games in on Thursday and the one elimination game in on Friday before the weather set in. Monday was each brackets final (in between rains) and the championship was on Tuesday night. I believe we maybe the first district that has completed their tournament other than the private divisions. Also, kudos go to the Seymour faithful for getting their field in good shape to play last night.
  12. Final Gibbs 5 Alcoa 4 8 Innings
  13. The Alcoa vs. Gibbs game as been rescheduled to Monday at 5:00 pm.
  14. Sorry to burst your bubble but Alcoa beat AE 13-3. Alcoa vs. Gibbs game was rained out and rescheduled for 12:00 Noon on Saturday.
  15. Not trying to bash AE as I was at the game yesterday too but just trying to be real here AE was in it somewhat (8-4) until Skittles got pulled in the 4th inning. Hopefully for AE Clark has a good night if he pitches. Your middle part of the lineup yesterday had 5 hits between them. Turtle, you gotta love the new grandstand at Gibbs though and here's a hint - try the BBQ sandwiches.
  16. As you know, anything can happen from night to night in baseball games. Probably the best game tonight will be the Alcoa vs. Gibbs game at Gibbs. Close game last night with both teams hitting the ball. Pitching is the key here. Seymour should not have any trouble with Carter or Fulton unless they go flat. District championship is scheduled at the higher seeds site next Tuesday. Teams were seeded as follows: 1. Seymour 2. Gibbs 3. Alcoa 4. Carter 5. Fulton 6. Austin East Players to watch: Seymour - Fouse, Timmerman, Funderburke, Weaver Gibbs - Willis, Bates, Ross, Turner Alcoa - Coulter, T. Robinson, Borden I'm sure there are more worth mentioning but can't remember all of them at this time. I'm sure the Seymour fans can add more when they get on here.
  17. Well Turtle, the tarp is on the field and if the rain stops, they will play at Gibbs tonight.
  18. Alcoa beat Austin East 17-4 Gibbs beat Alcoa 7-6 Friday's schedule is the same as Thursday at Gibbs too.
  19. District Tournament begins Thursday, April 30th at Gibbs and Seymour. Gibbs Bracket Thursday Game 1 - 5:00 pm Austin East vs. Alcoa Game 2 - 7:30 pm Winner of Game 1 vs. Gibbs Friday Game 3 - 5:00 pm Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 Game 4 - 7:30 pm Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner of Game 3 Saturday Game 5 - 12:00 Noon (If needed) Seymour Bracket Thursday Game 1 - 5:00 pm Carter vs. Fulton Game 2 - 7:30 pm Winner of Game 1 vs. Seymour Friday Game 3 - 5:00 pm Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 Game 4 - 7:30 pm Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner of Game 3 Saturday Game 5 - 12:00 Noon (If needed)
  20. I know you're just trying to stir the pot a little Turtle. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  21. I believe if the seeding works out like I think it will that AE will have to come through Gibbs first.
  22. Gibbs is looking for a home baseball game for this Saturday, April 25th at 7:00 pm. If any team is interested, contact Coach Davis or leave message here.
  23. Gibbs had a bad game at Hardin Valley making some critical mental mistakes. They finished the week 6-2 though with wins over Fulton (twice), Campbell County, Sequatchie County, Hixson, and Cleveland. Their other loss was to Ooltewah. Hardin Valley is coming around and might cause a few problems come tournament time.
  24. Both teams have been inconsistant at times. It really depends upon whom is playing well come tournament time.
