  1. Can we please get back to discussing the upcoming game between David Lipscomb and Giles County? Okay, that might not have been the best move on the planet from the Giles County bench, but I am a BIG believer in playing until the whistle blows, if they can't stop you that's their problem. Nobody likes getting it rubbed into their face. NOW, let's get back to the game at hand, it seems like there's maybe 2 people who think Giles County actually has a shot to win this ball game. Let me say this, Giles County has had an EXCELLENT week of practice thus far. They've been going from 1:30 to dark busting their tails to get better, and most of them come to position meetings in the mornings. I don't know of anybody outworking these guys. The stadium is going to be PACKED to the brim so you might want to get there early. Lipscomb goes to the left out of the gate and the Giles County fans of course go to the right as has been customary the whole season. It's going to be one wild night in Pulaski
  2. WOW, a Marshall County fan showing some class and at the SAME time backing up Giles County. This is a momentous occasion in the history of the MC/GC rivalry. And thanks to all the Giles County supporters out there, even the ones who can't spell, it helps out alot.
  3. Haterade is the drink of choice among those people who have a tendency of hating on their opponents before they play, or even know anything in depth on thier opponent.
  4. Creekwood turned the ball over 3 times within Lipscomb's 15, you take away some stupid mistakes on Creekwoods part and they were right in it that ball game. They basically handled Lipscomb like nobody else has except for 2A Goodpasture. Regardless of what the partakers of the plentiful amount of Haterade think, Giles County has a team that will give Lipscomb all they want. EVERYBODY at GC respects Lipscomb but NOBODY fears Lipscomb.
  5. Giles County will be as prepared for this game as they have been for any game they have ever played in. Practice for Lipscomb started last week on the offensive and defensive fronts. No doubt DL is going to be the favorite, but I sincerely believe the Bobcats are the hardest working group in the mid-state. It will all be decided on the practice fields and in the film sessions this week. Do YOU Believe in Miracles?
  6. If Kendall Dangerfield from Giles County does NOT win Mr. Defense, they should just stop giving out the award.
  7. The one loss Mustangs of David Lipscomb make the journey from Nashville to Pulaski to face off against the also one loss Bobcats of Giles County. This could very well be one of the biggest games in the region's recent history. The Cats seek revenge on the team that cost them what might have been a state championship run last year, while the perennial powerhouse Lipscomb looks to continue the unbeaten streak in the region. This is going to be a game to remember. Let's get ready to strap up and square off.
  8. Giles County did NOT play as well as they could have in this game. The play calls were very conservative and safe. There was no real razzle dazzle except for the first play. Very vanilla. The cats did not play up to their full potentiall. There was some serious underestimation of the Pats and you can't afford to do that in this region, or any other for that matter. But you saw that when the Bobcats come out to play, there almost no stopping them when they want to score. The Pats did a good job in the second half of shutting down some stuff, but the Cats came off the sideline late in the fourth quarter with a serious sense that we have to score NOW. The Pats are a team to be respected no doubt. Good job to both teams.
  9. First off, there's nothing wrong with being confident, you can't go in with a big head, but you also can't go in playing scared either. Nobody is overlooking Page at all, they're a good team who can find alot of ways to beat you. In the Marshall County game the score should have been 0-0 at halftime. Nobody is overlooking anybody. You want to see a good game, come on out to Page and watch the Pats and Bobcats duke it out.
  10. Well, I'm back. The loss to Columbia almost broke me down, but after 2 weeks I believe it's time to get back on the horse. Giles County goes to Page to play a Thursday night game of all things. From what I've heard, Page has a great special teams game, along with a great playmaker in Neel. That we know. Now, their defense is nothing that Giles County hasn't seen in almost every game, but...the Pats bring their linebackers alot, so that may be either a plus or a minus depending on what they can do with it. Giles County has turned into an offensive MACHINE this season. I thoroughly believe that they can line up with the best in the state and score if they are clicking. The defense has finally started playing up to a level that is typical of a recent GC D. Bo Wallace is no longer a single threat. Not only can he make you look absolutely SILLY throwing over you, but he can run around and even through you if need be. Derico Brown has hands like glue and comes up big in potentially bad situations. Wallace has more than one reciever to throw to don't get me wrong, Andre McElroy, Sinatra Cotton, and Josh Perez all have big play potential. The offensive line although lacking in intimidating size, have been absolutely murdering people off the ball this year. They are scrappy, strong and just get after it to protect Wallace. The defense has finally started playing up to a level that is typical of a recent GC D. D Turner and Quon Reynolds fly around like mad men at Linebackers, with potential to destroy whoever they hit. Kendall "Mookie" Dangerfield along with Damayo "May May" Birdsong and Patrick "Crazy Train" Timms have started playing like men among boys on the defensive line. The corners played extremely well last week, Josh Perez and Shevarus Coleman have taken control of the "Air Patrol". All in all the defense has improved and are playing well. It should be a great game between two good Region 5 teams. Let's strap it up.
  11. Well once again Mr. Bo Wallace continues his amazing play. He threw very well and made great decisions in his play. He just continues to amaze people (including myself). He's a great talent with a strong arm and now is impressing folks with his legs. Not to mention the play of his offensive line, they aren't very big but, they are well coached and just get after it. They protected Bo all game and made some giant holes for their runners. Mr. Corey Houston made some great runs including a 50 yard kickoff return due to a little trickery from the GC return team. Tobias Houston contined his style of HARD running, he's amazingly tough and has an nose for the endzone. Mr. Kendall Dangerfield flexed his offensive muscle this game with a touchdown catch (and truth be told he should have had another), and had a rushing td due to a fumble. The GC defense did pretty well but just allowed TOO MANY BIG PLAYS!! If they can cut down on that, then GC can put up more points, because I believe they can score on just about anybody. Quon Reynolds continues to play with more heart than anyone I've ever seen, not to mention he's tougher than a pine knot. Spring Hill has a good team but I think the play from their defensive line really didn't help their cause out too much. Their offense is good with Smith holding the reigns and the runner is quick and runs hard. All in all I'd say they could make a run to get into the playoffs if their defense can start stopping people. Great Job from both teams. Congratulations to the Spring Hill Homecoming Queen. Let's hope the streak coninues for GC with Columbia for Homecoming.
  12. Okay, that puts things into a better perspective.
  13. Spring Hill chose Giles County for its homecoming? That to me shows an obvious disrespect to my team. It might just be me, but I've always believed that you try to get a team that you're thinking you're going to beat for homecoming. Or maybe they just want the fans to see a great Region 5 football game. Either way, it's going to be a classic battle. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Good Luck to both teams! Hoo-rah GC!
  14. You can NOT compare how one team plays any other team. I don't care who it is. Anybody can have a great game or a crappy game on any given friday night. How one team plays another has no bearing whatsover on how another team is going to perform.
  15. I'm fully aware of when the game is. I was just wanting to start this topic early so that I could get alot of people's points of view. Nobobdy knows more about taking it one game at a time like Giles County.
  16. The Bobcats of Giles County venture up Highway 31 to face the Spring Hill Raiders in Region 5 play. Who wins and why?
  17. Many critics have been OFFICIALLY silenced by the performance of Super Sophomore, Mr. Bo Wallace. I personally didn't know whether I was at a fireworks show on the fourth of July or a highschool football game because Bo literally lit up the sky that much. His long passes were PERFECT in every since of the word, hitting his recievers in their stride for major gains, not to mention his short bullets he threw to slice up Cheatham County's defense. What an amazing performance. The GC recievers definately stepped their game up and Bo got alot more help from ALL his recievers. Rico Brown is always a great target but Andre McElroy and Josh Perez stepped it up and made some great catches for 2 TDs apiece. Tobias Houston and Cory Houston continued to carry the mail for the Bobcats in a big way. Both young runners did extremely well with tough, physical running, always falling forward. The GC defense, started a little slow but then stepped up BIG TIME later in the 2nd quarter. Kendall Dangerfield continues to amaze people not only with his strength but his athletic ability. He moved up and down the line of scrimmage making some big plays to help shut down the Cheatham D. Not to discredit Cheatham County, they ran the ball very well and played very physically as usual. I believe after getting stopped early in the 3rd quarter the Cubs were just demoralized and just sort of quit. New school record for points scored in a single game. Great job GC. We're going to work over the off week and get ready to go for Spring Hill.
  18. The Phenom Sophomore, Bo Wallace, Giles County High School. 235 passing yards in the first game, over 150 in the second, not to mention a couple of rushing touchdowns. I'd say for a sophomore qb to put up numbers like that, he definately has a bright future in front of him.
  19. First off let me just say that when these two teams met last year, GC played without the services of All-Stater Sam Edgemon. Now, CC returns alot of good talent (Joey Beech). They always prove to be a very physical, very well-coached, and very tough. But here's the scoop on Giles County: Bo Wallace and his young tandem running backs Tobias Houston and Cory Houston have proven in the past couple games to be wise way beyond their years. Bo Wallace has silenced many critics with his ability to not only rip you through the air but with his feet as well. Cory and Tobias Houston are hard runners who are on a mission to get it done for their team. The GC offensive line has been amazingly effective despite their size. They're not gigantic but they're scrappy and have great form in their blocking. The Defense anchored by Kendall "Mookie" Dangerfield, continues to keep quarterbacks who look to pass moving. Dangerfield continues to utterly dominate offensive fronts with no end in sight. The Harney boys (Darius and Torell) continue to excel at the outside linebacker positions. Darius is only a sophomore but has proven himself a monster of a run stopper. It ought to be a very physical, hard hitting, intense Region 5 game. Good luck to both teams.
  20. Coming back from a deficit and beating a team in OT is pretty exciting in my book, but that's just me, and to reiterate a previous statement, to each his own. Giles County made just a few key mistakes, there's no excuse for dropping the football, no excuse, the most important thing about a play is having the ball at the end of the play. The defense just allowed a few big plays, and other than that pretty much shut the Vikings out. Having said that, ALL these things can be corrected. The young runners Tobias Houston (Soph.) and Cory Houston (Soph.) did TREMENDOUS for their inexperience. Not to mention to AWESOME play by the young pig slinger, my boy, Mr. Bo Wallace. He ripped the Humboldt defense through the air all night and when their back was against the wall, the young QB took the ball into his own hands and came up big for his team. At this rate, Bo very well may be a D-1 prospect if he can get more work in the weight room. Kendall Dangerfield continued his reign as the big man of region 5 and Josh Perez came up with a nice pick early in the 2nd quarter. All in all I'd say that if you erase a few mistakes, it should have been a rout by Giles County. Coach O'Conner will have the team as well prepared as they can for the battle with the Wild Cats of Lawrence County this week. Hopefully the Bell stays in its rightful home at the hallowed grounds of GCHS .
  21. After coming off of a thrilling overtime victory over the highly touted Humboldt Vikings (2A), the Bobcats host the neighboring Wildcats of Lawrence County, who wins this one, and why?
  22. GC scrimmages Moore County Thursday, and participates in the Marshall County jamboree this Saturday. I think they will be playing LC as well.
  23. well alot of teams don't have lights on their practice fields and don't want to practice on their stadium's field. and the first two games of the season are in august so if the players are used to the heat, the better off the team will be.
  24. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter where the bobcats play, as long as they play. The team is not worrying about where they will be playing as much as worrying about week 0 and the Humboldt Vikings on August 24. It doesn't matter the location, GC will bring its A-game anywhere.
  25. LC won the first one at home, GC won the second at home. Both teams answered each other pretty consistantly.
