  1. Good ol' Bison4... eternal optimist and classy poster.
  2. Sycamore won't beat Greenbrier.
  3. Okay, everyone hold hands, get in a big circle, and SING WITH ME!!! "I'd like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony....."
  4. Both teams are coming off wins, both teams have great fan support, why so quiet? No bold predictions? No trash talk? C'mon folks, someone get this started....
  5. Yeah, me too, HOWEVER.... Greenbrier will be fourth. Also, concede nothing to White House just yet. They've yet to play DeKalb OR Station Camp.
  6. Kids make spur of the moment decisions sometimes. If they don't already regret it, they will. They've wasted five more games they'll never get back. I'm not a Portland fan, but I know Coach Bever and he's a class individual. I hope the fans over there don't get on him too badly, but I fear they will. They have unrealistic visions about how football should be. Roger Perry was smart to leave when he did, knew the talent level was in a down cycle, and it would be a while before it's back up. Portland had a great run, but there are very few Maryville's and Alcoa's out there.
  7. Hoo wee!!! I guess he told YOU, Bisonmom!!! Really, there should be a rule on Coach T about nine-year olds being able to post...
  8. Station Camp is going to score points. The offense is versatile. Good qb, good kicker, good backs. I'm not sure about the defense though. That region is wide open I think. Everyone will be pretty good. Macon returns a bunch, WH is loaded, PC is always good, and folks, this ain't your daddy's DeKalb County team this year. Whoever that coach is will be Coach of the Year for the Region. I won't be shocked if they sneak into the playoffs.
  9. That's kind of funny. A player for another team in the region told me the other day he'd heard that "White House had all but been crowned region champ already and the season hasn't even started yet", then he added "no wonder Portland hates them".
  10. Hope to make a game of it is frankly, optimistic. White House will be the team to beat in our region, but this game with Alcoa will be ugly. The only close game Alcoa will have this year will be with Maryville. No shame there.
  11. I'll just be glad NOT to hear "don't play wit it" every ten seconds from the P.A. guy.
  12. Go Powell Valley!! (oops, I guess I'm a bit behind the times!)
  13. This is NOT the game PC wanted in the second round, just like White House didn't want another game with Greenbrier. It's tough to beat a good team twice in three weeks. Don't think that SC and Greenbrier aren't licking thier collective chops thinking about these games....
  14. My ears are STILL ringing from the crowd noise. Literally. Hey, one of you BD's tell us how the little running back is doing. He limped off the field late in the game after being hurt near the SC sideline. Man, that kid can fly. I, too, was a bit baffled why WH didn't attempt a field goal late in the game. One other thing, I'm curious to know if anyone from WH was scratching their head at the spotting of the ball several times during the game. I know the SC fans were at times, well, feeling shortchanged when the ball was spotted by officials after a play. Any thoughts?
  15. At the start of the season, I thought if Station Camp even had a winning record, coach Hollingsworth would be Coach of the Year in the region. They were fortunate to win the Hendersonville and Beech games. Sycamore didn't live up to expectations. I thought those three would be losses for sure. That said, confidence is growing weekly at The Camp. What it lacks in size, it makes up for with quickness. The defense creates chaos and the offense can make big plays at any time. I'm not going to get into the debate about if they're better than WH or Fulton or anyone else, but I'm not going to count them out at any time. I did that early and I was wrong. The only real negative right now is the loss of Richard Baily. So far, the running game hasn't skipped a beat, but that could change with the two remaining big games in the regular season, plus the playoffs. I think they'll miss his ability to hit the initial holes and his big play capability. But regardless of how SC stacks up against anyone on paper, this team thinks it can compete against anyone out there. I'll not bet against them.
  16. I feel bad for Portland only because Mike Bever is such a class guy, a man I would be proud for my son to play for. On the other hand, some of these posters are right about the way the people in Portland carry on about football. Coach Perry got tired of it and bailed. I imagine Bever will too. Portland is an awful young team to be playing in that region, and they'll be hard to deal with when these freshmen and sophomores become juniors and seniors. I just hope Mike Bever stays around long enough to enjoy it. Newsflash to Portland fans: You're not going to run the table every year. Every team goes through down cycles, it's your turn. Most schools can't brag about three (fairly recent) appearances in the state title game, you can. Settle down folks, give your coaches some time, quit sitting in the stands and whining about the good ol' days.
  17. DeKalb's starters are as good as anyone's, they just have no depth. They'll stay within shooting distance of WH for awhile, but they can't win. Give them a couple of years and they'll be in the mix.
  18. Well, bless your heart! Don't you love the optimism that is high school football?
  19. I don't recall his number, but I was told his name was South.
  20. Does anyone know the condition of the young man who was hurt last night? He was taken away in an ambulance, and I was told during halftime that he was talking and moving some. Does anyone know the latest?
  21. Is wrestling new at Beech?
  22. SURELY Portland is better than that! I only saw Portland play once last year, but they played with reckless abandon. They might be young, but I bet they give WH all they want...
  23. I think Bisonpride was just pointing out that there seemed to be a "there was a clock malfunction, thus SC must have been cheating" thing coming from some of the earlier posters. That seemed to be a theme at one point. Having said that, I will point out that success in sports comes and goes in cycles, and one win does not a dynasty make. SC is a new program still, and fans and players would do well to win with class. Hendersonville has a great tradition, and it was a big win for SC, but I'd bet this will be a good rivalry in the future and neither team will dominate year after year. The goal is to be elite, not elitists.
  24. The clock stopped because SC's receiver got out of bounds with 10 seconds left in the game, then Hendersonville called time out. SC ran out of concessions before the game ended? Gasp!!! Oh, the humanity!!!!
  25. Oh, and speaking of the TV game, did anyone tape that game? I understand they had some issues getting it on the air, but that it was eventually aired. Will they replay it any this week?
