This game shouldn't have been close. Hendersonville has had this game circled as a win all summer, but made too many mistakes to beat anyone. There were several dropped passes, several penalties, especially the motion and illegal procedure penalties.
Neither team handled things well in the last five minutes. SC looked lost right after the HHS touchdown in the fourth, then after the punt, HHS looked desperate. I agree the clock didn't start when it should have, but the clock operator WAS an official. Actually, watch the tape and you'll see several times during the game the clock didn't start when it should have, or kept running when it should have been stopped. Everyone noticed the instance before the field goal, but there were clock issues all night. Plus, when the ball was snapped for the kick, there were 10 seconds left on the clock. SC only needed one second on the clock to run a play. If more than nine seconds ran off the clock, HHS has a gripe. If not, quit whining and move on.
