  1. Fair enough.....Obviously, I won't be able to change a biased opinion, no matter how many facts I throw out. I have just one more question. Would you be willing to recant your statement about Ooltewah being the best in Chattanooga and being able to run laps around McCallie; provided McCallie defeats Riverdale on August 25th. I don't know much about either team this year. It's been a long time since I've had to opportunity to see Riverdale play; and it's been over a year since I've been back to Chattanooga. BTW, all the best to the Ooltewah program this year.
  2. You say that as if it's a bad thing to go to McCallie. Can you name a football player that left the Ooltewah program just to go play football at McCallie? From your tone, you seem to feel that Ooltewah is entitled to have all the kids that live in the area attend school there. Almost like you own the kids? I don't mean you personally, but the community.
  3. You and I both know that private schools do not offer scholarships to athletes. Private schools offer need-based financial aid to students who demonstrate the ability to excel in an academically challenging environment. Financial aid is determined by third party who studies the parent's tax returns, etc. to see how much aid the student will need. Don't believe for a second that it's like the colleges do. You don't actually believe that coaches go and have "sit downs" with prospective student athletes to recruit them to their school. There is a fine line between recruiting and advertising. Some people believe that by advertising your school, you are recruiting. Others feel that coaches have direct contact with students and offer them benefits to attend their school simply based on athletic ability. BTW, you said, "let private be private and public be public until all is equal." Well, I guess that would work if life was fair. I'm hoping that tomorrow when I wake up I'll be Bill Gates. In reality, I'm going to work and earning a living just like you are. Take care....
  4. From what I've heard, McCallie would love to schedule Ooltewah. To actually find a team within 100 miles of the school besides Tyner that is willing to play year in and year out would be a milestone in itself. I'm sure the kids would love to play this game; as it would eventually turn into a great rivalry. I remember back when people in Chattanooga looked forward to the Red Bank / McCallie game. That game was always a lot of fun, no matter who won. For some reason they are dead set against playing them. I guess they have their reasons?
  5. McCallie vs. Riverdale - August 25th Should be a great one!
  6. You don't really believe that? Do you?
