You and I both know that private schools do not offer scholarships to athletes. Private schools offer need-based financial aid to students who demonstrate the ability to excel in an academically challenging environment. Financial aid is determined by third party who studies the parent's tax returns, etc. to see how much aid the student will need.
Don't believe for a second that it's like the colleges do. You don't actually believe that coaches go and have "sit downs" with prospective student athletes to recruit them to their school. There is a fine line between recruiting and advertising. Some people believe that by advertising your school, you are recruiting. Others feel that coaches have direct contact with students and offer them benefits to attend their school simply based on athletic ability. BTW, you said, "let private be private and public be public until all is equal." Well, I guess that would work if life was fair. I'm hoping that tomorrow when I wake up I'll be Bill Gates. In reality, I'm going to work and earning a living just like you are. Take care....
