  1. Football forum on http://hsmississippi.scout.com/ "SP-MUS game" is the thread. Oh Lord! Between that thread and the, "any public vs. private games" thread, I see some striking similarities to another message board *cough* in Tennessee. Congrats to MUS.
  2. I must admit that I'm a little surprised by both teams.....well, not Baylor. Every year I hear how good they are and we all know the rest. From McCallie, this is what you get when the "people that matter" (also known as clueless idiots) let a coach like Potter go (also known as "not willing to pay"). Combine a few injuries for Baylor and some inexcusable losses for McCallie and I'm baffled as to who's gonna lose this one. Whoever turns it over last, I guess?
  3. Speaking of massacre, I heard you guys were absolutely dominated by Brentwood Academy?
  4. LOL....you guys are the goods. Glad to see someone can take a joke on Coach T. Good luck fellas......
  5. Wow....between you and white thunder, I can't decide who's dumb and who's dumber?
  6. Since this is your first post I'm gonna give you a free pass. Next time you post something this ridiculous it's open season. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  7. Well, at first you said that Baylor will "easily take" McCallie. Then at the end of your post you pick Baylor in an "excellent" game by 7. Which is it?
  8. Oh no....Billy Blount and Ooltewah getting together? I think it's time to call out the National Guard.
  9. Father Ryan has come a long way over the past 6 seasons. After their '97 state championship run they virtually fell off the Division II map. This should be a great game with a much improved FR squad. I'll go with Father Ryan in a close game; being that it's at home and McCallie has to make the long haul up to Nashville. I'll wait on Bluemom and Ole Dad to fill me in on the details of each team. Good luck to both......
  10. I don't feel that Lipscomb should be playing in Division II. I was trying to give "wowcraft" and hard time and be a little sarcastic. He seemed to feel that Lipscomb played soft competition when that just isn't the case. I have nothing negative to say about D.L. Seems to be a very successful, hard working program.
  11. Translation: Stop pounding my team and go play division II schools, where I feel you belong.
  12. Well that was 30 seconds of my life I'll never get back. So one of your teachers had you guys write an essay on this obviously scandalous situation? Hmmm.....after that long-winded diatribe I suggest you get back to the classroom.....and fast. Send my best to Mr. Cordell since I have utterly failed in my duty to come on a public message board and give him my full support.
  13. Believe me, I am by no means saying McCallie will have the speed to run circles around BA all night. I said I think they have more overall team speed. What McCallie usually lacks in size they make up for in quickness. BA will have a pretty big size advantage of both sides of the line of scrimmage. McCallie will have to play a near flawless game to come out on top, imho. If not, it will probably be a long night for the boys in blue.
  14. Should be a good game. BA has the advantage in size, but McCallie has more overall speed. I'll go with BA in a close one. McCallie just might want this one more than the Baylor game?
  15. I think tenn9fan was looking for a breakdown of the game? Maybe a first person account of the game itself? I could be wrong though?
  16. You're reading too much into this supposed shocker where Alcoa beat McCallie. Is that the same Alcoa team that played Maryville (considered the best team in the state and nationally ranked) to a 17-14 game? Alcoa is different than most, if not all, 2A schools. Coming from behind to beat McCallie late in the 4th quarter showed a lot of heart and character on their part; and the fact that they had 6 DI prospects on their team. Alcoa can play with any team in the state regardless of classification. So to answer your question.........no........it is not a "big deal" in most people's eyes. As for all the small talk on the Super 7 being the "best football" in the state; well, that's an endless debate. From top to bottom I would say it's the toughest. Unfortunately, the only thing we have to go on is records and they speak for themselves. Have a good one.....
  17. Well, both teams have a 1 3/4 of a game under their belts. Franklin is coming in undefeated after one game without winning or losing it. McCallie made the great state of Tennessee proud by going out of state (nothing new to them) and beating Marshall County, Ky. Should be a classic 5A/Div II showdown with both teams disciplined and having plenty of skill people (just a guess). Anyone have something else to add?
  18. I'm gonna be a little more careful with this year's prediction. Last year I based my prediction on the fact that Father Ryan made Ravenwood look bad in a scrimmage. I don't exactly remember what I posted, but it was something to the effect that it could get a little ugly for Ravenwood considering how good BA supposedly was. Ravenwood slapped BA around last year and probably should've won the game. I'm not familiar with each team this year so I'm not gonna make any................wait.............well, okay, BA wins.........
  19. LOL! I believe the great Bear Bryant was the one who said that a tie was like kissing your sister. I don't have a dog in this fight and I still can't believe they're not finishing this game. What a shame....
  20. Any thoughts on how this one will turn out? Don't know much about either team except classification and the fact that they're both traditionally good teams with solid programs.
  21. A tie? You can't end a high school football game in a tie. This isn't soccer! If it's true why not finish the game tomorrow? I hear the BA/Independence game was also called due to the weather. Does Independence have to take the loss down 21-7 at the half?
  22. Yes, and then your grammar teacher fell to the floor, rolled into the fetal position, and kicked herself in the head.
