  1. I don't put too much faith in that game due to the starting QB for Gallatin being out. But, you guys know how to win in the playoffs, and that's bigger than stats sometimes.
  2. I'd love to see Ooltewah take that spot. Ooltewah better get someone good for their non region play. Rhea County and Cookeville are nice, but also they are not powerhouses. It's unfortunate we also have to play Central. They're terrible, 4A, vandalize our crap, and pointless towards standings. It isn't even an interesting Rivalry anymore. If I made the call, our non-region would include Red Bank for sure. We used to play them every year, and they've been absent for 2 now.
  3. It's totally fair for people to state lies about me. Really, it is. Especially when all I'm posting is what I see (from an objective viewpoint, duh, I'm an Owls fan, I'm wearing their hoodie as I type) based on the 13 games I have been to watch the Owls play in, the scores of Smyrna's season and their stats, and the highlight videos. Wait. No, it totally isn't. If you didn't notice, I said whoever had the higher turnover margin in Sevier County would win, and that the owls would do it if they could handle the QB. Hey, I was right. In the Farragut game, I said we'd win big because Farragut is not nearly as good. Hey, I was right. Did I mention that IN THIS THREAD I picked us to lose to McCallie if we had to play them? We don't match up with them. Here, I see a good passing game that's effective when the QB has time for his recievers to get open. Ooltewah will give up big plays, but the confidence of the 10+ interceptions we've gotten in the last 4 games will cause us to not let them have enough. I see an average looking Smyrna line, vs a powerful and dominant Ooltewah line. I see a defense from Smyrna that isn't notably better than Ooltewah's, and an offense that is notably better and more balanced from Ooltewah. We match up to be the better team, with more depth and speed. And I never picked us to win big. So shut up.
  4. After watching the highlight videos, I can pronounce one thing. I'm glad Ooltewah doesn't have such awful tackling as the teams in those videos. ... And all those times where the guys couldn't get to the QB in time, and Sonny stayed in the pocket to make a big throw? Ooltewah's faster than those guys. So far from what I'm seeing this is just like the Sevier County game. Like, every bit of it. I think Smyrna may break the streak of 14 against Ooltewah in the Playoffs on some long passes, but I don't think they have the overall speed, talent, or linesmen to win.
  5. From listening online tonight, watching highlights on local news, and the fact that he's going to Tennessee as a quarterback: Yes, he's that good. (600 yards is, of course, hyperbolized. 300-400 is more like it)
  6. Yeah, but that's only because of Oak Ridge's great football tradition. It's kind of like how Ravenwood has a worse record, and White Station's only loss is in the last game where they've already wrapped up everything, but not a single person thinks Ravenwood is an underdog just because of their Championship last year. That said, I think this is an uncallable game. I can't pick either way.
  7. No. BJ Coleman would throw for about 600 yards vs. Ooltewah. In every other category, they match-up pretty well. But the pass defense would get murdered. I hate to disrespect my own team like that, but BJ is just waaaaaay too accurate to not exploit every aspect of our zone.
  8. Top Ten gets a bit iffy near the bottom for me. Top five would be: 1.Maryville(so far ahead it's rediculous. Anyone that doesn't have them #1 is stupid). . . . . . . . . . . . 2.Ooltewah(slight edge over the D2s due to being my team) 3.Brentwood Academy(Edged McCallie, balanced team) 4.McCallie(BJ Coleman, talented. Lost closely) 5.Riverdale(beat Smyrna in every aspect of the game except heart and final score) After that, it'd be Fulton, Alcoa, White Station, Evangelical, Hillsboro, Red Bank and Smyrna too close to call for my comfort.
  9. Alright, sweet. After seeing all the stats, I have no doubt Ooltewah will win. Balanced offenses don't work against Ooltewah, they kill the run. Huge linemen don't matter, Farragut averaged 6-4 280. Smyrna seems to play some people both ways, Ooltewah has great depth. The only thing they should be able to do is pass pretty well, but I think we'll overcome that.
  10. Our QB is definately the most underrated in the state. Misses some wide open throws looking at his number 1 guy but his ability to get away from the sack more than makes up for it. Always looks for his #1 threat, Jensen Morgan, who gets open fairly easily. The great running game diminishes his passing numbers, but he could have 230 any game he needs to. Can your QB scramble well? We're pretty susceptible to the bootleg if the arm is accurate. If we can get our hits early, our defense can stop the pass, but if you block well or throw before the pressure, we're in trouble. Although, against Sevier they had everything I just described, and a fairly good passer, and we still won by 2 TDs. Ooltewah should win this since really we're quite dominant in every area, but Smyrna is obviously talented enough to beat Riverdale, so who knows. If we do win, it will be by more than 2 TDs I think. Just depends on how well we match up with a team, I don't think, we've ever even played.
  11. I'm still waiting on an answer about how good Smyrna's Pass offense is.

  13. Hey, I've got an idea Ooltewah fans. Before we know predictions, how about we learn ANYTHING about Smyrna. 1. How good is your passing game? Does your QB scramble at all? 2. Injuries to key positions please. 3. Running game, how good is it? From Ooltewah's standpoint, we have a very very balanced offense, a run defense that just doesn't let any team gain significant yardage, and a Zone pass defense that only works with bad throws and pressure on the QB. Oh, and by looking at this web site, wow, I think you guys may have a need to expand the away bleachers after this year. You're too good of a team to have them that small.
  14. Oh yes, I'm starting a thread before anyone else. Go me. Alright, so uhh, I don't know anything about Smyrna. I really didn't know much about Riverdale either, except they ran 90% of the time. What ya got?
  15. Ooltewah to state? I'm glad Ooltewah dominated, just like I said they would. Don't understand why Farragut didn't stick with the spread out offense that kept defenders out of the box and opened running lanes for Sterling. That first drive of the second half we just got owned. But in the end, it's Sean Sanders with his 8th postseason touchdown, and Ooltewah's offense blowing out the fourth quarter. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
  16. I still don't know why everyone on thinks this is an even matchup. Apparently no one but Ooltewah fans saw the first game. It was all passing game. Really. Sterling was uninteresting, Farragut's offense did nothing at all during the second and third quarters, and the defense wasn't better than Ooltewah's O. They wouldn't have scored in the fourth quarter without a passing game, and that would've made it something like 24-7. Not very close. Ooltewah got extremely lucky in this one. WB's running back got hurt, so their number one threat would've been gone, and Farragut's QB got hurt, eliminating their number one threat. Sure Andre can run all over WB, but this is a different run defense. Where can their offense come from? I don't see where. There is...
  17. The anger from me is over, it's.... .
  18. I think in this match-up that Red Bank's slightly weaker schedule may come back to bite them(don't argue, it IS weaker, even though both have many similar opponents), but I still think they have the total potential to do it. Especially away from Maryville. I think Red Bank will win honestly, but that may be just me wanting someone to take down Maryville for once. I hope they do it.
  19. Dude, you're really starting to tick me off. Number one reason why Ooltewah has a right to LEGITIMATELY say they're better is the record of 12-0. NOT TO MENTION YOU GUYS WOULDN'T HAVE SCORED IN THE FOURTH QUARTER WITHOUT A PASSING GAME. GUESS F'ING WHAT! IT'S GONE! THE REFS DIDN'T CHEAT AT WILLIAM BLOUNT. I AND EVERYONE AROUND ME COULD CLEARLY SEE EVERY HOLD, LATE HIT, AND PASS INTERFERENCE THAT WAS MADE. PLUS, WILLIAM BLOUNT HAS HORRIBLE PENALTY NUMBERS THIS YEAR ANYWAY. GOD JUST SHUT UP FHS ADMIRAL!
  20. A typical Farragut fan is irrational, arrogant, and incorrect all the time. I guess I'm still being one! Maybe I should switch teams. My plan was to be whiny, arrogant, and unreasonable. I feel I've done exactly that. Ooltewah is so much better it just hurts me. And if you would also take out that pointless part about Marshall V. Sterling. If you weren't paying attention, the only thing I've said in that topic is how much Yards Per Carry Brian had, before I knew Andre's , and how I think that is probably the deciding factor.
  21. I like the system that's in place now. People need to realize that with any playoff system or with the BCS or any other way of deciding a champion, there will always be some team that's an exception. Always. This year it was Independence. Well, what could possibly be a reason they should be in the playoffs anyway? They didn't win well in the region, they got beat by John Overton, a school with a much worse record, and their nonregion opponents were all very weak. Plus, with this system, Hendersonville would've been left out of the playoffs. Look who they beat in the first round.
