  1. Does everyone see what I'm doing here? Acting like a typical Farragut fan, and it's clearly making everyone mad. The whole thing has worked perfectly. I hate Farragut so much because of their general "We have more wins in our history than you so we must be better right now" attitude. THEY'RE DOING IT IN THIS TOPIC FOR GOODNESS SAKE. I hate Farragut soooooooo much because of this, and since we have the superior team THIS YEAR, and since their QB is hurt RIGHT NOW, and since we've been capable of stopping the running back THIS SEASON, we're going to win. And just in case you guys didn't realize this, holding Sterling under 100 yards would be phenomenal. All it will take TO WIN however will be holding him under 150 yards, barring freak turnovers. Sterling is their offense in this game. So don't use that excuse that we didn't stop him after we win this game. We don't need to hold him under 100.
  2. Wait, since when do we care about the past? Ravenwood sure didn't. Oh, that's right, when we're talking to arrogant Farragut people. I can't wait to win on Friday, again.
  3. I'm sorry Farragut, but your season is over. Without the QB, I bet Farragut would not have put a single point up in the fourth quarter of the game. Guess what, that was almost all of it. There is absolutely nothing Farragut can do in this game to win. Any team without a good QB will lose to Ooltewah, period. I can't see any reason whatsoever this won't be a victory of more than 20 points. Oh, and I'm sorry that just because I'm cocky and confident, you think our whole fanbase is that way. Well I've got news for you...BRIAN MARSHALL POSTED ALREADY IN THIS THREAD SAYING THAT HE DOESN'T THINK THIS GAME WILL BE EASY. This post is 100% correct.
  4. Nobody from Ooltewah should win Mr. Football because they play so much as a team. Nobody's stats are going to be the best in Tennessee because so many people can score. That said, Brian Marshall should be the frontrunner heading into next year's race, and John Long will probably win Kicker of the year when he's a senior.
  5. How about we just look at the yards per carry? Brian had 6.4 after the Science Hill game. What about Sterling?
  6. Every single person I've met from Farragut is totally stuck up and thinks their school is the best ever. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Not to mention the most douchebaggery thing I think someone could pull when you had that jerk screaming for your team the entire 2nd half of last year's playoff game. How was that any different from a player cussing out somebody on the field? Complete trash. The only group of people I hate more are people from Soddy Daisy. I have a loooooooooooooong horrible history against playing Soddy Daisy.
  7. Starts chant: 80 Yards! 80 Yards! 80 Yards! 80 Yards! No QB, no rushing game. What can Farragut possibly do? I hate hate hate Farragut. I'm so glad we get to beat them twice in a season. WB would've been much scarier. Farragut is so easy.
  8. Another eeeeeeeeasy playoff game for Riverdale. I wish they actually had to play somebody before Ooltewah.
  9. I see absolutely no reason why Farragut should score more than ten points without a QB. Finally Ooltewah will get to beat Farragut in the Playoffs. YAY!
  10. I have got to got to got to got to got to get some explanation for the end of the first half. Excessive Celebration after a 20 yard kick return and 15 yard personal foul? WHAT IS THERE TO CELEBRATE! I also don't understand 3 personal fouls on the last play, even though Arsenio(28) was kicked out for something. Who were the other three on? Explanation pleeeeeeze. And then there was calling false start before our players even got down into a set position, and then there was not calling personal foul on the two THROW DOWNS of Horsch(8) after the play. What in the world. Thankfully, they didn't miss the forward lateral at the end of the game, or was it inelligible reciever? Whatever, it wasn't legal whatever it was. .......................................................................................................................... Anyway, Sevier County QB was not nearly as good as advertised. How many overthrows can someone have? I loved Ooltewah's pass defense though. Really made the plays they needed to at the right times. The interceptions were almost necessity. Offense was good as usual, Brian(5) played well, Jeremy(1) played well and saved that 3rd and long with the big first down rush at the goaline. And go Darrell Turner(20) for his rushing. HOW ABOUT JOHN LONG, A FRESHMAN, FOR A 44 YARD FIELD GOAL. YEEAAAAH! Loved it Owls. Now go beat Farragut again.
  11. Yes, Yes, Yes, and half. The Owls passing defense has shown no signs of stopping anyone this year from lambasting us. A good QB comes along and we're shot. Farragut had a good QB. We almost got beat. From everything I've heard from Sevier Co. and people who've played Sevier County, my diagnosis is that the QB will own Ooltewah if they don't get some monstrous coaching this week. Special teams, as you ask, is alright. Punter usually kicks it about 35 yards, maybe a little more, missed 5 Extra Points during the year, kicks off fine. Has made clutch 30-35 yard field goals this year. Punt Return has returned two scores, against 1-9 and 2-8 teams, but if you give some room, you'll get burned. Kick return has the Owls start position usually past the 25 to the 30. WB had us pinned with good punts inside our 15, and we never could get out the entire second quarter of that game.
  12. I'd have to say that Brian Marshall is probably the fastest person who's been on the field in each of the Owls' games this season. He's really quite the freak of an athelete. I think he placed at the state track meet last year as a sophemore, and I'm pretty sure he can dunk at the height of 5-6. And definately give the advantage to Sevier's QB in this game, even though Jeremy's a beast, just because the numbers he puts up will probably be better. Sevier's big advantage in this game will be the pass.
  13. The winner of this game goes to the state final. I picked Wooddale to be that team, but Ridgeway of course has been significantly underrated all year, with the same offensive and defensive production as Gallitin. But yeah, go Wooddale because I picked you.
  14. Why does everyone keep picking Ooltewah to win by 20 or so? Do you people even look at the match-up before you make your pick? Sevier County passes very well. Ooltewah has played pretty bad in the pass defense all year, and is undersized. If Ooltewah's offense wasn't so unstoppable, Sevier would win this one. 31-28 Owls is my early prediction.
  15. I'm kind of with the sentiment that says anybody who's still in it should be ranked. But I'm really with the sentiment that says its the playoffs and it doesn't f'ing matter.
  16. I would stay in this arguement, but unfortunately we have ERSS(elitest retarded statement syndrome) in this topic. Ignoring the grammar, which already demeans the quality of the post, we also have strong symptoms of hyperbolism and badly-backed up statements. First of all, 90.6% of teams in the 5A bracket met your requirement of .500 for the first round of the playoffs. In the second round, that number jumps up to 100.0% of all teams, and to add to that, all of those teams have at least a .545 win percentage. Secondly, in the first round, there were 6 games out of 16 where a team with a lower record beat a team with a higher one. That's .375, over 1/3 of the games played. Third, the average margin of victory in the 5A playoffs so far is 14.25 per game, and in D2-3A the average is 24.5. Hmm... I guess public schools clearly are all horrible. No team from some lowly old 2A school with a fourth of the students McCallie has that only gets talent from it's own small city could ever manage to win in a game between those two schools. Public schools must be so weak and useless. It's a wonder anyone would ever care about them. .................................... I don't believe that public schools would win the majority of games against McCallie or Brentwood or Baylor. The teams themselves are just simply better. What I don't care one bit for is some jerk telling me that the playoff system is as stupid as the BCS, and that none of the football I care about matters. Shut up mkay.
  17. To argue Division 2 vs. Division 1 is like arguing NFL vs. College. Yeah the Division 1 teams always win those match-ups, but they also have all of the talent from each city. For a Division 1 team to win is almost rediculous. It's correct for these schools to be in their own little bubble with 6 playoff teams, but it also is not correct for them to hate on Division 1 or reverse. If there were a hundred Division 2 schools, all of the calibur of the teams that made the playoffs, then a team like MUS might not even make them in the first place. Or they would be that 3-7 team that just happened to win a few lucky games in their region. Now what is kind of iffy is that the Division 2 schools may be playing the hardest teams there are, but they also have great talent at each one. Therefore, I personally believe that winning a 5A championship is harder. You, unless your school gets lucky with it, will have about the same talent level as any other team you're facing. And you may have to play 4 or 5 games against teams of your talent level, which is obviously harder than 2 or 3. It's definately possible for any D1 to beat any D2, but in general, D2 should win more of the head to head.
  18. Talent areas for Ooltewah are the running game, running defense, QB, and Tight End. QB Jeremy Woods(1) makes great decisions and does whatever the coach asks of him. Sometimes he's thrown for less than 50 yards and we've still won comfortably, sometimes he's thrown for 240. Look for screen plays, shovel passes, and over the middle rather than to the sides of the field. Tight End is Jensen Morgan(7), 6-4 and definately goes up for the ball. Blocks well too. Recievers have gotten better and better. Ryne Shumaker(14) has emerged to be a solid dependable guy. Gino Norwood(6) makes plays. Jacob Horsch(8) is also dependable, and in the punting game has made 2 returns for TDs this year. Running back is Brian Marshall(5). Diminuative, and on the line of scrimmage he can take some hard hits, but once in the open field, shakes tackles and uses his state final track speed to burn defenders. Having his best games right now. Sean Sanders(31) is our inside the 10 back, and is excellent at following his blocks and pounding it for 3 or 4 yards. Kwan Buchanon(44) plays fullback, blocks well and runs 3 or 4 times a game. Rush Defense is speedy and gets many many tackles right off the line of scrimmage. Has held three of 5A's top backs in Mcdermott, Sterling, and Dustin Langford under 100 yards. Pass Defense is the team's real weakness, and it hasn't been that weak except Farragut. Arsenio Landsden(28) is small but can make anything your QB throws poorly into a pick. Nathan Swafford has great speed and hitting abilities. Your running QB sounds lethal to our defense. Hopefully we'll be able to make some plays and ride the storm. Oh, and to elaborate on my Turnovers are key debate, and I don't have the stats for Soddy Daisy but both teams had over 5, our turnover margin this year is +12
  19. Ooltewah has forced over 12 turnovers in the past two games. I believe that will be the factor of whether or not Ooltewah wins this. Sevier will obviously be able to pass all over us. Any team could do that. But if they throw some bad ones, our secondary will be in position to take it. Running doesn't matter at all for Sevier. Ooltewah has a FANTASTIC run defense. It's why we'll beat Riverdale if we make it. Turnovers are the key. And how well Sevier's defense can hold Ooltewah.
  20. Good job whoever picked DB vs. Gallatin. You obviously did not understand how the playoffs work.
  21. I will never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never pick DB to win in the first round again. Failure.
  22. And now, since it's gameday, I'll give my prediction. 34-6 Ooltewah. Both teams miss extra points. Science hill has no rushing game past the first quarter.
  23. Because last year doesn't matter this year. Just look at Oak Ridge and you'll figure that out. Plus, if anyone was supposed to be better than DB, it certainly wasn't Ooltewah. We weren't expected to get past the third seed in our region.
  24. *cough* *sneeze* *cough cough* Oh sorry, I'm allergic to bullcrap.
  25. If a team starts at number 1 and doesn't lose, they won't go down a spot ever. Duh-uh.
