  9. Farragut??™s GK Megan Buzzeo, Collierville??™s Kendyl Wilson Sign with UT-Martin http://www.utmsports.com/fullstory.cfm? ... rt=Soccer# Megan Buzzeo (5'9", GK, Knoxville, Tenn.): Buzzeo comes to UT Martin from Farragut High School, where she was a four-time all-district mention for coach Dennis Lindsay. Buzzeo also earned all-region distinction twice in her career at Farragut, and was an all-state honoree her senior season - a season in which she set a new school record with 15 consecutive shutouts. Buzzeo was in goal to lead the Admirals to district and regional championships her freshman and sophomore seasons. "It's great to bring in a Tennessee goalkeeper with her ability level," Roberts said. "She will add to the competiveness for the starting position." Kendyl Wilson (5'6", MF, Moscow, Tenn.): Wilson attended Collierville High School in Collierville, Tenn., where she lettered under coach Bill Gillespie. Wilson led Collierville to divisional, sectional, and regional championships, and helped the team to TSSAA state finalist berths in 2006 and 2007. Wilson was named to the All-Metro Best of Preps list and was also named MVP of the Ohio Showcase. Wilson was a member of the 91 Lady Lobos club team which competed amongst the nation's finest players in tournaments throughout the country. "Kendyl comes from a well-coached Tennessee team," Roberts said. "She is a very talented midfield player with super speed and she will give us another dimension on the outside of midfield that we have not had in the past."

  14. This may be unique to this person's school. As far as I know, you can combine Hope with anything else, including a partial soccer scholarship, if you qualify. You can't stack them up, if doing so puts you over 100% though....
  15. I know Notre Dame started both a boy's and a girl's team in the last year or two. I don't know if it yet has enough critical mass to warrent being a TSSAA sport. Compare it to swimming, which is also a non-TSSAA sport, but is probably larger in Tennessee tha Lacrosse. If/when Lacrosse grows, it will become a TSSAA sport. Lacking that shouldn't be a hinderance....

  20. It will be interesting to see who fills the void on the 4 programs that typically make it to State in Girl's Soccer that are moving (JCS, USJ and FRA to D2, and Knox Catholic to AAA.) The Jackson schools will likely be replaced with public schools, while the FRA slot will likely be filled by another private D1 school). With the new regions/districts, this will be perhaps a bigger driver of change in Girl's soccer than these few schools moving.

  24. CASL was a good tournament this year, but COLD.... I believe that there were 400+ college coaches in attendance. Not sure how the coaches were at the satellite locations, but for ERSA 91's 3 games, we had between 20 and 40 coaches watching at least some of each game. For us, about 1/2 of the team has comitted to some college, but the other half hadn't, and it was great to see some of these girls getting serious consideration. The NCAA games were nice to be able to watch. I'm glad I went....
