  1. Sounds as if the head coach is teaching more than just football. Proud of him! We on the Tullhoma side knew Holt could have easily broken the record this night. The coach showed class. He should be commended - others would do well too follow. Also I noticed Terrrance was'nt beating his chest and making a big scene every time he scored. He simply ran into the endzone, turned around and jogged back to the sideline. He showed he was a class act duirng the entire game! I wish that kid the best of luck in all his future endeavors. The Panthers have my support the rest of the season (unless of course we meet again in the play-offs)! Hope they put a whoopin on Hillsboro! The Panthers are a talented team who are just plain fun to watch (unless they're playing your team, then they are nightmarish). Again - Good on the Coach! This is what true leaders do! Good Luck Panthers!
  2. Barnes did good - not sure of his stats. He had a good night throwing but the linebacker Majors spied him all night long and Cass could not run. This Majors kid completley impressed me - he is so quick on this feet it's amazing. Waht an athelete! It hurts to say this but, Holt made the T-Town D look silly. Amazing runner!! He could have had close to 500 yards if they wanted him too. Now I know what Boski means when he says Maplewood is the Truth. Wow!!!!!!!!!
  3. Three comments from me. 1. Terrance Holt is the second best HS running back I've ever watched play (Emitt Smith being the first). 2. Majors is the best HS Linebacker I've ever watched play. 3. Tonight I've just seen the region champions play and perhaps even a state champion team - who knows.
  4. Tullahoma is pretty banged up right now. But that's part of football. Injuries happen and that's why the depth of a team is so important. T-Town has a huge challenge tommorow night with a very mobile QB and a quick back. Contain - Contain - Contain! We talk alot about Barnes but let's not forget they have 2 quality RBs - look for a big game from either one or both of them. I think T-Town is ready to reorganize the region standings.
  5. His back-up is a junior and would be a starter on many other teams.
  6. Yes - Coach Mathews has played a huge part in Barnes success. He's also helped out the recievers - teaching them how to hang on to the ball after the catch among other things. Having those boys run NFL drills in practice can't hurt.
  7. Cass is extremely poised. I don't see him becoming too rattled. It's obvious to me the coaches have done a fine job mentoring him. What a difference a year makes! Defensivley T-Town has lost 2 of it's better players and leaders. Yet I still believe they will suprise alot of people and do extremely well against MW's potent O.
  8. Yes - finally someone else who sees the potential in this team!
  9. cobrafan90 - LOL - Thank You. Although I'm not sure I follow you. But if you are making fun at my posts - that's ok. There are others who undoubtedly use better English or write more eloquently. I won't argue with that. But please, let us not compare our education levels. Not sure you've heard of him, but when a man named Aristotle was asked how much educated men were superior to those uneducated, he said, "As much as the living are to the dead". Let's keep it to the game of football. Maplewood has a great team this year. Their linebacker (number 1 I believe) is tough against the run. He'll probably do well at the next level if he does'nt get hurt or something. This is going to be a chalenge for T-Town to get past him and others. Let us know what you think of him and the other defenders. Cheers!
  10. If your suggesting I'm giving excuses - you're horribly mistaken. I know what happened on the 1 yard line - maplewood stopped tullahoma. Period. I know what happened on the next play too. No excuses. C'mon you must read/listen to understand - not to refute. Communication 101.
  11. OK. Let me reacap the end of the game last year just for the record. After MW kicks off T-Town gets teh ball on the 35 yard line and marches all the way down the field with 4 complete passes and 4 solid runs. Then when it's 1st and goal number 54 falls on Barnes after he was already down (this alone would put the average QB out for the game - because 54 weighes 350 pounds!) and he then proceeds to bend Barnes backwards in an attempt to keep him out of the endzone. Barnes leaves the game for one play tehn returns. Now to clarifiy the fumble on the 1 yard line: On a QB draw, knowing he is stopped short of the goal line - Barnes pitches the ball in the enzone while he's going to the ground. Although it's counted as a fumble, and everyone in the stands thinks he's fumbled, in reality he did it purposely in hopes a T-Town player recovered the ball in the enzone. MW made a good stop down there on the one yard line, that I'll give them credit for. But Barnes is a gamer, he was still fighting and trying to find a way to take the lead in this game. Again no fumble - just some solid D on maplewood's part at the end of the game and a QB trying to make something happen. If you have film - make sure you watch this again.
  12. That was last year though. Every post you make mentions this. The kid ran for 382 yards and T-Town was still in the game at until their very last possesion. Tells you something about them- don't it! Let me tell you something more about them. They've been playing football together since they were in elementary school. You see, not much to do here in little T-Town - so they played backyard football every chance they got. Those recievers of Barnes have caught literally thousands of his passes over the years. Tehy all know eachother like the back of their hands. The best part about them is not a player on the team likes individual limelight - but they do like winning together as a team! They have got too much backgound history, they know too much about being a team, they know too much about winning. Your panthers don't know what they're up against.
  13. Good points. Good Advice irecnso! I leave this thread with a quote from an unkown author. At times it has served me well through the years. It reads: "By your own soul learn to live, and if men thwart you take no heed. If men hate you , have no care. Sing your song, dream your dream, hope your hope and pray your prayer" Lastly, I sincerley hope CC has a great season and it's a rewarding experience to all the players, coaches and others involved.
  14. Although I partaked in some of the CC coach bashing earlier in this thread - I feeling slightly uncomfortable with continuing it. However, I'd be curious to hear from one of his past players, maybe 4-6 years detached. Oftentimes, an assessment from a player that has matured and has some time to reflect on a coach will tell you more about the coaches character, integrity, etc. and what the coah had instilled in them. Many times thier assessment will tell you more than any present player, paretn or fan can ever hope too. The legacy a coach leaves with his players is what's most important. Hope CC's coaches fully and completley understand the important role thay have in these young men's lives.
