Harpeth vs Hillwood I'm not sure Hillwood will win vs Harpeth. Maybe strength of schedule but Hillwood has a terrible record. Heritage vs Ezell Harding Again Ezell has a terrible record...could surprise in a game at home but I doubt it. I agree Heritage big. Heritage will face Davidson Aca. and Goodpasture in the Goodpasture Christmas Classic Dec.29-30 Two very good opponents...should be good. Westy vs Greenbrier IF Greenbrier is going to make any kind of statement at all this year IT will start with this game. A must win for them. I will give them the WIN BY 10 OR MORE. Actually watched Greenbrier vs White House game online on the 10 for 10 network you can search it up on FB. They been broadcasting live and recording games to view later for WH. anyway Greenbrier hung around and had it close in the 3rd and 4th qts. just gave out in the end, only dressed 8 guys. White House vs Cheatham White House been trying to beat Cheatham for a LONG time now. I believe this is the time they accomplish that feat. White House by double digits. I heard WH might have lost one player(starter) for some reason. But will have a new transfer eligible for after Christmas. good luck. Good luck in any Christmas tourney you are in. It will be a good tournament. I plan on coming the first day which has several good matchups. Station Camp is undefeated, East has one loss, Independence is strong and Idk about MBA but usually have very good athletes and are prob strong as well. Beech is good and just beat Smyrna by 2 a few days ago. White House... ehh never know which WH team will show up but could make a run. First game is against Station Camp THAT kinda stings... and I am excited to get to see Harpeth play and get a little info on this team ! I think Independence has the easy road in this tourney. WH has a tough road. WHite House may get a warm up game against Harpeth. final 4- East - Station Camp- Independence- Beech Championship game will be Independence vs East East wins it.

Currently in 9-AA Harpeth 2-0 White House Heritage 2-0 White House 1-1 Westmoreland 1-1 Cheatham 0-2 Sycamore 0-1 Greenbrier 0-1 Ok Harpeth is by far my surprise team so far....I knew what Heritage was capable of. Really had no clue what Harpeth had and was going on pre district record...Where are the Harpeth people here? Has anyone seen them play ? Is it speed, length, shooting, defense....what >? White House did have a good bounce back game vs Sycamore and sounded like a battle 3rd and 4th quarters were barnburners for both teams Sycamore in the 3rd and White house in the 4th...lots of points scored in second half. Would have loved to have seen that one ! Tuesday games 12-13-16 are Cheatham vs Harpeth....gotta go with Harpeth. White House vs Greenbrier...going with White House Westmoreland vs Sycamore...going with Sycamore. Heritage has 3 non district games this week. Man in the first zone in the 2nd half. yes they struggled to get any offense going. obviously with 17 total points. at least half were from the free throw line. I don't see how they scored 51 on Hendersonville.

Hendersonville played Westmoreland a few games ago....It was a 3 or 4 point game with Hendersonville pulling out the Win. Take that for what its worth. As far a Stall ball....no not really. Westmoreland did hold the ball on offense for extended time on a lot of possessions but only because they could not get close to the basket. Heritage Defense just shut them down, all they could do is swing the ball around the perimeter. I think they had maybe one second shot after a miss the entire game. Refs were tight on Heritage in the first half...Westy was shooting 1 and 1 with 2:00 minutes left in the 1st quarter. Heritage finally got to the 1-1 mark with 6 seconds left in the half. it was comical. Seems Harpeth may be the team to look out for. They thumped Greenbrier. And beat Sycamore by 24. Sycamore and White House were basically even. Harpeth may be Stronger than first thought. Time will tell Go Patriots

Fridays slate : Heritage vs Westmoreland Sycamore vs Whitehouse Greenbrier vs Harpeth Nobody is talking about the 24 pt win Harpeth had over Sycamore. Surprising...I missed that one. bad. Harpeth has a new Coach...so maybe his system is finally kicking in with the boys. idk that makes the Greenbrier/ Harpeth game very much a tell tell game of who will have a chance to be a power this yr. I saw Greenbrier play a Monday night game vs Montgomery Central this week, they ARE pretty good have some height/rebounders and some shooters....very well might be a contender. Sycamore/ White House game will now give a us a feel of how the district might shape up...or down....somebody is going 0-2 after that one. my gut says Sycamore. WH will bounce back. Heritage/ Westmoreland....both have played Portland at Portland, Westmoreland won 56-45 so 11 points. Heritage won 60-30. 30 points. going by that standard I would say Heritage gets the win tonight. Cheatham plays Brentwood tonight... could be ugly. This is the last District game of the year for Heritage. looks like everyone else will play 3 district games before Christmas. Who ya got?

First of all GREAT ATMOSPHERE for a high school game. I'm glad the teams got to experience that feeling. They both played their hearts out for their fans. I had a feeling that experience would play a part in the win for Heritage . White House actually shot the 3 fairly well last night, what 9 3's. To Heritages 4. Like I said, shooting the 3 is only a portion of the game...rebounding hurt WH. Agreed WH is young and will continue to improve and learn from each game. That said, I believe Heritage will only continue to improve as well...its still early in the year. Over all great game and was competitive, I was pleased with the outcome. I believe that may well be a preview of the district championship. Best of luck for the rest of the season, stay healthy.

Heritage held Springfield to 43 points and did control the pace in that game. Springfield tried to press but had to fall out of it.... too many easy baskets for Heritage. Springfield scored 68 against WH...without one of their best players. I'm not sure WH would have faired as well against East Hickman or Smith Co. Smith Co beat Livingston the next game by 20...a team that is usually a powerhouse. I agree IF whitehouse gets hot on 3's they will be tough, but thats just one portion of the game. I believe Heritage has a better handle on the entire package. its gonna be good.

First district games are finally here. Tue nights games are. Westmoreland vs Cheatham- Westmoreland gets the nod. Sycamore vs Harpeth- Sycamore after winning against MLK. must have something. Looking forward to seeing the renovated gym. Did they get new lights as well >? Hopefully the visitor side bleachers are better... its hard to see over the rails. White House is hosting the District and Regionals this year > guess that gym will see a lot of action. Hope its big enough. White Horse got the win over P town but looked like a slow start for WH. yeah 38-17 in the last two quarters but 1st two quarters got outscored 22-19. Guess it takes a while to get the 3 pointers to fall. Somebody must have lit it up in the 4th. Heritage beat em by 30. I hope all is well at Cheatham. Hate to hear about hurt players. Heal quick boys. Harpeth has a murderous schedule for the first of the year. Should toughen them up for district play. although WH will have three tough ones in a row this next week as well. Greenbrier is still a mystery to me... and against everything in me I somehow feel they might be pretty good this yr... all teams must be aware. Heritage 4-1 has played soft and hard teams so far this season....one loss to a scrappy Springfield team that went down to the last .9 seconds. Beat East Hickman and Smith co both LONG road games. Love that Smith co gym though. Smith co had a returning District MVP on team cant Jalen something. That kid was really something. Sycamore - has anyone on the team scored in double digits yet...may be a team that will have to gel together and maybe improve as the year wears on. They always scrap. Westmoreland- I wish someone from there would post something here about them. I'm sure they are young in spots from last years loss of I think 6 seniors. Never count them out defensively. Speaking of defense I just saw where WH Heritage was ranked 6th in the state this season in defense . allowing just 39 point per game so far. Ill take it. OK big question.....Who gonna shine in district play?? The time is drawing near.

I was wondering the same thing.....maybe a revenge factor for East Rob. East took a 40 point drubbing the last time those two teams played.

Heritage will play Portland this year for the first time Nov. 17 @ ptown...so we will soon see.

Like to hear some details of the Cheatham vs Maplewood game if anyone was there. I saw only 4 players on the scoresheet for Cheatham and only one in double digits. Did Cheatham just shoot poorly or were they defended well. Press? Its been an interesting season for 9AA Just wish we didnt have to face such incredibly tough opposition in the first round of regions.

"All games are at White House-heritage High School. does this benefit both Heritage and White house, I would anticipate both will have the best fan support." With Heritage being so central to most of the schools in dist 9... should be a good turnout for all teams. 4 games on Saturday 2/20 will be the best day to go. Starting at 4:00 and last game @ 8:30. Barring Cheatham.... (btw congrats for Reg season championship.) there seems still to be much parity in the teams this yr. This Tournament is going to be intense. Can any team go on a 3 game streak and pull this off ?

I quit reading so much of the girls threads several years ago when my daughters graduated. That being said, their are probably hundreds, maybe thousands of readers like me that would have never seen this topic about referees not being evaluated. These folks might be interested in making a comment about this issue as well. Hubbard. I am shocked if this the case with tssaa referees. I would think there is a minimal standard to which they are held.

Good Post. Thanks for the History, I had forgotten the 2004 game. Heritage wins a tough battle tonight scoring the winning shot with 9 seconds left on the clock. Big man for Heritage stepped up a notch or three tonight. Scored the winning basket and swatted the last second shot from White House to seal the win. Great D a few steals and a breakaway DUNK by Heritage in the final few sets turned the momentum toward the new blue. 79-78 final...Heritage has a squad full of athletes I don't see how you figured White House would wear them down by "making heritage run with them" . They are just coached to play under control and make the most of each possession, take good shots. That usually means a slower tempo type game. Tonight was a mix of both. I'm not sure if the devils press produced one turnover, I don't remember one. One of the Most Intense high school games I've ever seen...I am proud of both teams for the way they handled themselves on the court. There was a lot of mutual respect for each other out there and it showed. Especially in the hand shake line after the game. Good stuff. On to Cheatham Co tomorrow night.

Make up game is on for tonight. 2/11/16. 2012 was the Richland debacle. Had that game won at halftime and blew it in the second half. that's basketball though... kinda like Kentucky blowing the halftime lead this year with Tennessee. Crazy stuff happens. Looking forward to this game tonight these snow out and tornado cancellations have been killing me.

The whole incident was quite comical. The WH player was ducking and weaving into the huddle, acting like he was "listening" to what was being said. I feel if the Ref would have seen the Sycamore coach touch the WH player things would have been different...with at least a T and maybe the coach being ejected. That coach was hot about the whole thing. Pretty funny stuff. The Heritage vs Harpeth and the Cheatham vs White House games were Cancelled last night for the storms. Premature decision at best, but it happened. So now both will play the games tonight 2/3/16. The White House vs WHHeritage game that was cancelled for snow will be made up 2/8/16 Monday night at White House. I still feel Heritage can beat any team is this district even with the dismal 2-5 record. They can be very dangerous if everyone is "on". Best case scenario...win most of the last 5 district games and finish 7-5 or 6-6 with some wins going in to the district tournament. Worst case...lose 5 straight and go in feeling terrible. I don't think they will finish with what Guru says at 3-9. Whatever the outcome will be, it starts tonight at Harpeth. White House is talented enough to beat Cheatham tonight. How to stop Douglas is the question. Their fate is in their own hands as well. They are dangerous too if they shoot well and make good decisions. Greenbrier almost beat them last week, had them beat in regulation and had lead in OT but WH pulled it out....shows grit. crazy though. Makes me scratch my head. Westmoreland beat Greenbrier easily last night. so idk. A win tonight will give em a chance at the regular season championship...if they win out...and that will be a very tall order. Westmoreland is just fundamentally sound from one to five. That is how they win games also physical and rebound well. Big man down low has improved a lot ! He killed greenbrier last night. Surprising ability and soft hands. Should be an interesting finish and I am looking forward to the tournament. Could be several changes in the standings. Time will tell . Good luck.
