I finally got to witness Key play today. The word silky comes to mind. The kid is silky smooth and has a feather touch when finishing around the rim. The ally oop pass to him and he finishes with a reverse dunk.......just icing on the cake. Well done young man, well done.

Thanks for the info on AAA status guys. Good call Cleggy..........11 point victory by the Patriots. 55-44 Game in control . Could have...let me rephrase SHOULD have been a 25+ point victory. Pearl Cohn was out hustled out rebounded out shot and beat back up the court many times for most of the game. The Firebird press was called off very quickly I might add after It proved ineffective against the Heritage offense. Heritage Defense again proved to be a winner. Holding Yet another team under 50 points. Only the 7th time all season Pearl had been held under 50. Firebirds scored just 4 points in the second qt to Heritage 10. The game winner being the 23-13 run in the 4th quarter for the Patriots. Survive and Advance.

White House did make a good run in the 3rd outscoring the Patriots 16-10....which is a turn of events... I know the 3 qt has been a rough spot for WH in some previous games this season. Good job coming out of the halftime ready. Heritage has had good team Chemistry from the beginning this year and It showed in this game. Unselfish play and Big Hearts with the ability to will themselves to win played a big part in this game.... Senior leadership. White House has youth and talent and I believe this game will help them learn for the future. The future is bright for them. It was a much anticipated game and one that has been in the Making since the first of the season. Pressure packed game would be an understatement. I can't imagine what the players had to have been going through and thinking in the days prior. I've watched most all of the kids play Basketball since the 1st grade and have Coached the majority of them at one point or another. I love them all . I hated to see either team lose. This Community is really something special. This GAME was big stuff. I am glad It came down to an ALL WHITE HOUSE CHAMPIONSHIP. I am very proud that our White House kids did it. It has been a long time coming. Great Job. BOTH teams now get to host a Regional Tournament . That statement alone is very good ! Not every year that that gets to happen....Good Luck. Play hard and get the win to advance.

For those that dont know. ths is the REGION 5 AA TOURNAMENT. I know it number of Students....but seem all of the schools in 10AA (Metro Nashville City District) should be and I think have been AAA schools before. Correct me if I'm wrong. I think its one of the toughest Regions in the State to get out of for 9AA ( Outer laying schools from Cheatham Robertson and Sumner) and to Advance. I wish 9AA could have played elsewhere. Just a small gripe. But it is what it is. I believe other Rural districts have an easier road.

East seems to be peaking at the right time. Greenbrier will give them fits with the "stall ball" and I predict a low scoring game with East the winner. Greenbrier does have quick point guards that can handle the ball surprisingly well with a very frustrating stall technique. Still ehhh don't see it happening. Cheatham vs WC , Cheatham is a quick team with no real height . can shoot the 3 pretty well and have a few really good players. Creek should wear them down with their speed and height. Cheatham is playing their best ball here late in the season but will come up "short"... get it. Pearl at White House Heritage. Heritage is the best team in 9AA. I saw Pearl play Maplewood at Pearl a few weeks ago in reg season. (Maplewood with out Bo Hodges)....and Pearl still got beat. They have a big that can get up and a shooter. But for the most part had trouble getting jumpers to fall. If Heritage does not rebound they will not win. Heritage will surprise Pearl with speed and defensive ability. Heritage is athletic as well is Pearl. I say even matchup and will be a close game. Unless one or the other gets out to a big lead and believe me, either team can do that. Edge Heritage at home... with the win. Maplewood at White House. How healthy is Bo ? I believe that will be the deciding factor....Maplewood without Bo Hodges is an average team at best. But with him.... could make a run to State Championship. White House and Maplewood have played once this season with White House giving Maplewood a run until late in the game when Hodges took over. Maplewood knows what they are getting into ! It could spell trouble if White House is on their game and their game is press with sticky 1-3-1 push and shoot the 3 ball. The 3 ball is a great equalizer. White House can stay in this game if they play their best. Maplewood had an 8 game winning streak going until the upset vs East.....then rebounded with a huge win over Pearl. I see Maplewood continuing their winning ways. Beat a scrappy Sycamore team and pulled off the Victory over a much improved Cheatham Co. team. Heritage had a hard fought victory over Upset minded Greenbrier who has improved as well and played a whale of a game to get past Westmoreland and into the simi-final . It has been a great tournament. Greenbrier and Cheatham will play tonight to see who has to travel to Whites Creek or East Nashville. White House Heritage and White House will battle to see who host Maplewood or Pearl Cohn. Maplewood with a surprise loss In the Simi-final to East Nashville. Let the games begin and the drama unfold. Hopefully they get a good crew to Ref that game. Who ya got?

HA...love the o'brother reference....I had actually put South Cheatham and deleted south to put west. Was unsure. But got ya, now I know. Sycamore gave White House all they wanted but came up short 80-79 final. Great hard fought battle. Good shooting and teamwork by both teams, every time WH would pull ahead by 8 or 10 Sycamore would pull it right back in with either a steal and easy layup or stroke a 3. Very gritty game. Proud of WH keeping their cool after sycamore made a run with 1:00 min or so to go. Coach Welch stepping up to the plate and getting a stellar win. Congrats. Well something for the rest of the district to take note of after tonight..... Cheatham (7 seed) gets the win over (2 seed) Harpeth. Sending the West Cheatham boys Home to knock the dirt out of their baseball cleats. "YOU ARE NOT SAFE" Let me repeat, YOU ARE NOT SAFE. Don't bring that weak s#!+ in here and expect to win on your good looks, your regular season record, your stats from this season or your latest win streak. Mostly ugly game tonight. Harpeth missing many many layups in the 1st AND 2nd quarters that could have had them up quite a bit early. But the misses and no rebounding had Cheatham right back down the court with points of their own. You could tell early that the pressure of the game had both of the teams uptight (bad passes, turnovers, missed easy baskets) Both teams at the end of the night had ample opportunity to take a command of the game but just did not do it. No quit attitude by Cheatham was evident and they did not go away. Two big 3s late in the game by Cheatham #4 at the top of the Arc were HUGE. Taking away any momentum that Harpeth had. Cheatham sunk the free throws in the end and sunk any thoughts that Harpeth had of winning this District tournament. I agree...Cheatham played a very good game at Heritage the last game of the season. Just losing by 4. I thought they played exceptional. No sign of injury with the Saunders kid. He played lights out scoring 14. Harpeth def has their hands full. Cheatham is very good on Defense as well. Harpeth has Seniors that will be ready though. This is a very good opening round game with the possibility of an upset. Looking forward to it !!

Harpeth played Westmoreland last night as well....forgot about that one. Harpeth got the W. I Guess secured 2nd place regular season. White House Heritage wins At Sycamore and Secures the Regular Season 1st place spot!! Knocking the Crown off of Cheatham Co. Finally ...Well done ! Greenbrier wins over Cheatham easily it seems. White House played Community and it MUST have been on heck of a game. 116-103. That is just Crazy basketball. I am about to watch it on the fb page 10 for 10 network. Pretty cool set up to broadcast the games live and replay them at your convenience. SO....what does that leave ? Will a White House win over Westmoreland in the last District game of the season keep WH in the 3rd place spot? The better question is will a Westmoreland win and a Sweep of White House in regular season move them up to 3rd place. Westy is sitting at 5-6 WH is 6-5. Gonna be good ! I believe it its a must win for White House to Stay in 3rd and stay in the District tournament Bracket opposite WHHeritage. That just might set up an all White House Championship. Still a lot of basketball left to be played before that might happen. I hope it does. Can Sycamore move up a spot with a win at Greenbrier Friday ??

? was 19 threes in a game a RECORD for White House? Wow. It appears White House is averaging 60.5 points a game this year even with the big scoring nights of late. I would say with tougher D like the Harpeth game, Springfield, Heritage and Westmoreland the Avg is gonna stay about the same. high 50's low 60's. Not 90's. Heritage is averaging 57.5.ppg. Interested in seeing the WH vs Community game outcome....Community is an old Regional rival of White House Heritage several years back in single A. Pretty cool match up Tuesday night 2-7-17 Greenbrier vs Cheatham : Cheatham is hungry !! Will give Greenbrier all they want. Cheatham with the close win . 58-56 White House vs Community: Community will want to prove themselves against a AA foe. But not gonna happen WH by 15. 80-65 WHHeritage Vs Sycamore: Sycamore at home will be a test...I believe Heritage will be too much again. I've been watching basketball games for a lot of years... I have never seen as much home cooking that goes on in Cheatham Co. It is really something to behold. I don't get it. It was the same with the Harpeth- Heritage matchup last week....except Heritage couldn't overcome the Refs like WH did. kudos boys !! I saw the 10-10 video, the last play was incredible...why even try that inbounds play !! Just chuck it down the court and let the 4 seconds run off... I think over coaching/over thinking by Harpeth staff to try that..great play by Ward in the last few mins.

Heritage- Harpeth, Greenbrier, Sycamore, Cheatham 3rd. Westmoreland- Greenbrier, Harpeth, White House 4th. White House- Cheatham, Harpeth, Westmoreland 5th. Sycamore- Cheatham, Greenbrier, Heritage tie for last Cheatham- White House, Sycamore, Greenbrier, Heritage Greenbrier- Westmoreland, Heritage, Cheatham, Sycamore Tuesday games : Harpeth at Heritage. BIG Game for both teams. I feel Heritage will bounce back and win. Hopefully the first of a 4 game winning streak to end the district season 10-2. Cheatham at White House. Should be an easy win for White House. Greenbrier at Westmoreland. Greenbrier could make a run up the board with a win . But I don't see it . Westy gets the win at home Depending on how these next games play out.... 8-4 district record might win it.(tie breakers will come in to play) 9-3 will be great and prob win it. 10-2 will be excellent. Harpeth is the only one that can go 11-1 but they could easily go 0-3 in next three games. idk Its going to be interesting. Lets play ball !!

Heritage got out rebounded and out shot in the second half of the Westmoreland game. But Heritage prevailed with just enough umph and clutch free throws to win the game in the end. Good regular season sweep. Looking back at records....Westmoreland has won every single district regular season game against White House Heritage since Heritage moved into 9AA with them !! I am just figuring this out really while I am writing this. I had no clue it had been that lopsided. The teams have never met in the District Tournament. here ya go.. 2013-14 The first year WWHeritage moved up. WH chooses to start and play those players because obviously those players have proved prior to game time during practice that they are the best athletes. I believe WH has 5 Seniors and 7 Juniors and could very well start and play those players the entire game. Playing youth is NOT an excuse here and no team should be embarrassed about playing against the best players a Coach decides should be on the floor.

New year new season....district games a plenty. it is now crunch time. time to shine. Heritage did not shine against Greenbrier... I feel they thought they could just show up and win. Greenbrier had other thoughts. I had a feeling that Greenbrier was better than their record showed. I don't agree with you B52... Sycamore will have a hard time winning against Greenbrier tonight. Not a good matchup Greenbrier is bigger and if they shoot like they did against Heritage it will be a blow out. GB is on a 4 game winning streak and could be dangerous come tourney time. I have Greenbrier winning by double digits. White House vs Westmoreland. Westy seems to be scoring lately, they beat Harpeth last week and Harpeth beat Whitehouse. using that logic Westmoreland should win tonight. It really just boils down to which Whitehouse team shows up...who is on the court for Whitehouse. Seems at times Whitehouse really has good chemistry with some of the 5 that are on the court but then a wave of subs come in and they loose whatever they had going. Idk what the answer is...maybe use 6 or 7 only and let the boys get in a rhythm on the court. Tough call when you have young players that need to get experience for the future. Big game for both, West has only one loss in the district and WH needs a win BAD. I will go with White House by 8. Heritage vs Cheatham. Sycamore beat Cheatham at Cheatham last week 63-38. Heritage beat Sycamore this week 75-29 and held Sycamore scoreless in the 4th quarter on a running clock. I don't see this being close. Heritage just needs to take care of business work on playing team ball and get out of there with a W. Heritage by 20 or more. Hope all stay injury free. Good luck

Which is actually the best record any boys team at Heritage has ever taken into the Christmas break. Take a break people heal up and have a good Christmas.
