  1. Brentwood Academy 4 - JPII 0 BA goals: Lara Langworthy 2 Goals 1 Assist Sarah Sermonet 2 Goals 1 Assist
  2. Hendersonville Strengths (as I see them) -Good Goalkeeper: she made 4 excellent saves (would have been goals against a lesser player) in addition to 5 or 6 routine ones, she kept the game close -They are very well coached: They played a high-pressure trapping defense and all of their players were disciplined and on the same page. It took our girls about 20 minutes to work things out. -They have a very strong player (#7?) that is able to play multiple positions well, she is a difference maker. They also have a good outside mid that is very strong defensively. -Set plays and service out of the back -Good Depth: They substitute freely without a loss of quality I do not think that they have any big weaknesses. They do not appear to have great team speed and the defensive system that they played against us requires a tremendous amount of effort and appeared to tire them quickly. Once our girls figured their system out, they generated no real offense against us.
  3. Scoring: 16th Minute: Hendersonville goal deep in BA box 0-1 23rd Minute: BA Goal (Longeway) 1-1 30th Minute: BA Goal (Sermonet, Sarah) 2-1 (Not the goalkeeper) 54th Minute: BA Goal (Langworthy) 3-1 64th Minute: Hendersonville goal (Free Kick) 3-2 69th Minute: BA Goal (Langworthy) 4-2 The Hendersonville goal in the second half was on a beautiful free kick which was their only shot in that half. Hendersonville is a very good team and played hard, clean soccer. Great start for the year.
  4. This should be another great season. A quick prayer that everyone stays healthy and best of luck to all of the girls.
  5. Pre-Season #7 Brentwood Academy vs Pre-Season #4 Hendersonville Monday Night at BA for our first regular season game. I guess we will test those predictions right out of the box.

    AAA 2007

No apology necessary, I am just glad that your coach called and that you guys won't have any TSSAA problems. We are certainly familiar with situations like that!!! There are a lot of people on here that have posted schedules that list more than 4 scrimmages. I hope that they know all of the new policies.

The games were canceled because there is still a lot of confusion with respect to the rules. Their coach was smart enough to check with TSSAA and found that since their Saturday JV and Varsity scrimmages were held at different sites, they counted double. As we understand it, if the JV and Varsity play back-to-back in the same place, it only counts as 1 game. We also just found out that Metro Nashville has canceled all outdoor activities for the week, which means no game tomorrow either. I guess that we may be looking for a scrimmage!

Mjuhb, Looking forward to seeing you this afternoon. Stop by and introduce yourself if you have a chance. The other result on Saturday was Franklin 1-Tullahoma 0. I will be interested to hear your review after today's game. By the way, our goalkeeper is STEPHANIE not Shephanie....
  10. Way to go Anna...that is a collection of outstanding players, congrats to all of them
  11. Does anyone know when the all state teams are announced? The Tennessean all mid-state team is supposed to be in Saturday's paper.
  12. Murfreesboro would be great for many reasons, but if they are going to keep it in Chattanooga it seems like they should at least move the classifications around to different locations so that people did not have home games at state. GPS is a fantastic location but A/AA or AAA should play there instead of DII. It seems unfair that a Memphis school like St. Agnes or Collierville has to drive 5 or 6 hours when another team just has to walk down a hill to play. IMO, all sites should be neutral sites.
  13. This is fun, as most people know, the best individual talent does not necessarily make the best team. (Ask the Yankees!) I don't think that I was getting defensive, you obviously know who I am and I would hope that means that you also know that I care about many more girls than just my own daughter. Come to think of it you may be right, suggesting something like that does make me a little defensive! I hope that our game tomorrow night is as good as everyone expects it to be. Many of the girls on the 2 teams are friends and club team mates and I would expect it to be hard fought and cleanly played. We have a lot of respect for the players and coaches at BGA and are very proud of our season to this point.
  14. I don't know who your daughter is but I have "tooted the horn" for the daughters of many people for many years, including several on your team. I think I tooted Lydia's horn in the same post, which got left out of yours. If your game had gone to PKs and the same thing would have happened, I would have mentioned it too, especially since Jessica is one of the finest young ladies that I know. (On and off of the field) BGA has the most individual talent in our region, including several girls that I care very deeply for. We wish them luck and look forward to the challenge of playing them tomorrow night. As to the charge of being a proud Father, I am very guilty of that, no apologies there. I think that Syd, Jules, Natalie, and Jess know that I was proud of them too.
  15. I don't know where you have been reading, but I have posted several times in the last month about how good HH is. You have a great team that plays hard for 80 minutes. It is a credit to your girls that they came back to even the score twice last night and anyone who watched both games would expect Harpeth Hall to advance tomorrow night. The Father Ryan people seem to think that they just had an "off night", but anyone that doesn't give Harpeth Hall credit or a chance has not seen them play. My comments may not help "start a buzz" because I agree with you, but facts are facts.

  17. D2 Middle BA 3 Harpeth Hall 2 BGA 4 Fr. Ryan 1 BA vs BGA for championship Ryan vs HH for #3
  18. Brentwood Academy 3 Harpeth Hall 2 (PKs) Very exciting match 2-2 at end of regulation and overtimes. BA wins on PKs 3-2 with BA keeper saving first 2 HH attempts. BGA 4 Father Ryan 1 BGA scored early and their 4 goals included 2 unassisted corner kicks by Lydia Wright. Thursday's Schedule 5:00 Father Ryan vs Harpeth Hall (winner advances to state in #3 position) 7:00 Brentwood Academy vs BGA (for 31 and #2 seeds)
  19. I agree with you about Ensworth, I have said that about them all year. I don't know what they have coming up from the middle school, but they will be VERY dangerous when they get some depth. I will make no excuses for our loss to them, you seem to forget that BGA lost to them too. I guess that's why they play the games on grass and not on paper.
  20. Interesting post since BA beat both Ryan and BGA head to head. I have no idea what will happen this week but any one of the 4 could end up staying home. 4 very good teams that will end up beating each other up for the 3 spots in Chattanooga. I hope you are wrong but at this point it is up to the girls to sort it out.
  21. Don, Give poor Tim a break, he didn't use the words referee or dominate anywhere in the post. Hope to see you in Chattanooga. BAPride
