  1. I just want to say congrats to brentwood. your program has come along way, just has ours has, and im sure it felt great to win on sunday. i thought it was a pretty clean game for the most part and both defenses played great. David C really kept them in the game with some great saves. Our defense held their offense well, but when we did make a mistake they were there to capitalize on it. I think our defense played well enough to win, but our offense didn't make enough plays. Its not that brentwood really did anything that beat us, they just made plays and we didn't. it was fun to play in and I really enjoyed it. Good luck next year in D1, it will be a big change. Will brentwood have a lot of guys coming back or did they have a heavy senior class like ryan did?

    Best Defenders

I didn't watch too many D1 games, but i do agree that Bailey from MBA is a great goalie, and of course the MUS and McCallie have good goalies. From D2 I know that brentwood's goalie is the best in D2. Very good goalie. I think that Robert Rogers from Ryan is an underrated goalie. He made some good saves this year and kept Ryan in a lot of games. As far as defenders go, number 26 for Ryan is a great defender and shut a lot of team's key players down. I didn't get to see MUS play, but I did notice number 5 for McCallie, he was a great Dpole. I saw him shut sloan sanders down and that Houston kid.
  3. Does anyone know anything about the team that brentwood is playing in the first round? and i have heard rumors that scouts are supposed to be here this weekend? can anyone confirm this or shed some light on this?
  4. Um i would not say I was shut down. I had 2 goals 1 assist and 3 ground balls. Look, david played great and like fr12 said we did get 40 shots. We just didn't put them in. Our defense didn't play well. I give credit to Brentwood as well, they played great and we didn't. I am looking forward to a rematch too. Oh, and we have more than just 3 players....
  5. Yes, I can say that everyone on Ryan's team has been anticipating this game ever since last years loss. That was the first time Brentwood beat Ryan in history (if i'm not mistaken). Anyways, with 5 or so major players out for Ryan, and I have heard that a few key guys did not play for Brentwood as well, it seems as though that game did not serve justice. This game will be great. Both teams seem to be htting their stride at the right time and both have a lot of talent. Key players for brentwood...well besides David Catterton, i honestly don't know any players or "good" players for brentwood. thats not talking trash, i just don't know their team. I know david is a great goalie so if he makes key stops then that will boost his team. As for Ryan I think we have a few key players. Alex D for defense. Our best D-pole. He will match up with the best attackman/middie on the field. He has the skills to shut a very good offensive player down. I believe he held Malone, of cookeville, to 2 goals in their win of 9-5. once he scored those 2 alex stayed on him and seemed to frustrate him the whole day. Our middie would be Trent H. He is the faceoff man. I don't know who brentwood's fogo guy is but who ever is able to control the majority of the faceoffs will be looking good; and I can say that for both teams. Trent has the ability to score as well and can make some plays when he wants to. As for the attack, John Mulloy and Daniel Lorance will be a big factor. They play very well together and if they can hook up for some goals and get other kids involved then it should be a good day for the Irish. Both teams will need ground balls and determination. I don't mean to post all about Ryan, i just don't know anyone from brentwood besides david. Can't wait to play.
  6. yeah, you guys sure are modest. and no offense but the east division doesnt look very strong. signal mt is 0-5 and you guys only beat them 10-3. you got crushed by webb bellbuckle, a D-1 team that isn't that good. as far as the top teams in division 2, Ryan, Brentwood and i guess cookeville (i just haven't seen them or any other teams play that I thought were top teams), you dont see those teams making their own post pages. As a matter of fact, you dont even see MUS, CBHS, or MBA making their own pages and those are some of the best teams in the STATE year in and year out (not to leave our ravenwood or mccallie.) my point is either back it up with your play, or just dont talk at all. I'll wait to believe your "dominance" when I see it.
  7. Father Ryan 14- Ensworth 4 Mulloy- 4 goals 5 assists Lorance 6 goals 1 assist Nicholl- 4 assists 1 goal Trent H.- 2 goals Tommy F.-1 goal
  8. the field conditions were too bad i think. their coach called us and said the field were just a mess so we rescheduled
  9. Ryan and Centennial cancled for today
  10. whoa whoa whoa...i never said the kid wasn't good. I have never played agianst him or really seen him play so maybe im just biased? I'm sorry. I have no doubt that he is creative, I just know Nolan is consistant. My last stand is that if I had to pick a faceoff man, I would still pick Nolan out of them all.
  11. Yeah, I would not say that will bible, if thats who you are talking about, is as good as Nolan. Nolan has gotten top faceoff for 2 years in a row. He is going to Villanova, or so I've heard, and he wins atleast 85% of his faceoffs.
  12. and no that wasn't sarcastic. He could have played D1, which most players from tennesse cant say. I don't know why you would totally disagree. I never said he was THE BEST, but I would call him on of the better ones. Are those 2 middies from MUS back or were they seniors. Scott McClintock or however u spell his name, he is good. Honestly, I don't know that many middies since I play attack. For D2 I would say Robert Rogers- Ryan and David from Brentwood are the 2 best D2 goalies. I think John Mulloy is one of the top attackman in D2, I don't know any other attackman in D2. I really don't know very many D2 players at all since our team just moved down.
  13. That was pretty embarassing what brentwood did to hillburo. I was at the game and I couldn't even get a good look at brentwood because the game was so unsettled and sloppy. The only thing I noticed was that brentwood wasn't very deep. I don't know if kids are hurt, if they are in another sport or what I guess I just thought they would have had more kids on the sidelines. I also didn't agree with them shooting on goal with about 30 seconds left when they were up 21-2. Sorry guys, i dont care if that was ur third line or what and they wanted to score, but that wasn't very classy in my opinion.oh and Father Ryan plays centennial at centennial friday at 6. anybody know anything on centennial compared to how they were last year? I heard they have a new coach...? any new changes/improvements or basically the same team like last year?
  14. Attack- Franklin-CBHS / Sanders- MBA Dpole- Kyle Howell- Ravenwood LSM- Alex Dreifke- Father Ryan (D2) Middie- Cassidy- CBHS Faceoff- Nolan- CBHS those are not the only players that are the best at their position, I just cannot think of anymore off the top of my head.
  15. What are the dates for that? is there somewhere where i can get information on that like cost, dates, site (i assume it will be held at mccallie.) what teams usually go?
  16. Well, for the record, that's not what Ryan is about either and he is just some player running his mouth. He does not represent the entire father ryan team. I forget when we play but i think its some time in april.
  17. did you really have a hat trick
  18. that was our coahes descision, not ours. our coach was trying to explain it to us and we didn't meet three of the 4 requirements to stay in Division 1. I for got what they were but it had to do with a middle school/feeder program, having consistant success and 2 other things like that. We are a talented team and we are ready to compete for a state title.
  19. oh ok. does that kid even play? and aren't your brentwood's goalie? and if that kid does, im assuming he plays for brentwood.
  20. im some what confused...how was that nonsense or a promis.
  21. that's a pretty bold statement yourself. brentwood did beat ryan last year but we also had one of our best attack out with the flu and one of our top d-poles and 2 other seniors skipped practice the day before so they didn't even play. so as you can see, if you were injure and so were we...we didn't have a completely fair game. we will just see this year...but i would go with my team, father ryan. our goalie made all-state in D1 so it will be a defensive battle and one of our dpoles made all state LSM. We also only lost 6 seniors. in reality, or on paper, our teams look eaqualy matched. lets put the smack talking aside and settle it on the field.
  22. I think that CBHS will have a good shot at winning it. I guess you could call them a "wild card" but i don't think so at all. they are very skilled and are well coached. They have the best faceoff man in the state and the best attackman in william franklin. MUS is my favorite because they were extremely skilled and very young. they only lost about 4 seniors, if i'm not mistaken, so their entire team will be back...that says a lot. and no offense, but how can you pick a 2nd year team (baylor) to win a state title? Now, i can't judge because i have never played them or seen them play, but the idea of it just seems unlikely. I think it will be between Father Ryan/ brentwood in the division and i guess cookeville in the other...(i dont know any other teams in that division)
  23. Ryan has their Goalie back, their entire attack back, and with the exception of 2 middi's their middi lines are the same if not better. the deffense is new, but they players stepping up this year shouldn't have an issue playing together. I think that Ryan has just as good of a shot, if not a higher one because of the 15 seniors, than any other team. As a player of father ryan, i was sick when we played BHS so i really can't judge them. I know that i have beaten them everytime we have played, but it has been decided by 1 to 3 goals. they are a tough team that always gives us a fight. I heard that cookeville lost a lot of their guys, but since i have played in D1, i dont know them bc I have never played them. As a matter of fact, i only know BHS and centennial and JP2. I'm excited to play new teams, but to respond, we have a lot of returning players that are "impact" players, in my opion.
