  1. I'm not sure I can agree with the aberration reference to the Halls game. Giving up 450 yards rushing (give or take a few) shouldn't win you a ballgame.
  2. hey, you seem to always have a little knowledge of the halls program, any info on the frosh out at Halls?
  3. Just a little tidbit..Burnette's do have a house in Maryville, it's actually on the other side of Maryville relatively speaking if you're looking at it as someone from Halls. Doesn't matter, he wanted to be there or the parents did, who cares? Can't change it now. Doesn't Halls have some kids who moved in or transfered? Anyways, on to Lenoir City since that is the opponent Friday night. Halls should take this one as long as they don't play to their opponents abilities which seems to be a trend with this football team. Hope to see Turner get his wheels on straight. The kid has the tallent to get it out to his WRs, he's just in a slump for whatever reason. I'm sure the coaches will find some ways to get the kids confidence back if that's the problem. See you all friday night.
  4. ah, so the debils broke out the brooms against the panthers. sweet
  5. yes, west better be ready for this one. The Clinton Dragons beat SD, who beat Central, who beat Halls, who beat West. So, in a nutshell, this year in region 3-4a anything can happen and Clinton is capable of beating anyone with the athletes they put on the field. However, I think West has too many for Clinton. West by 7
  6. I'd suggest stuffing the face while watching them play ball. This should be a good one. Can't wait till the teams strap it up and the pads start a smackin tomorrow night.
  7. what wound up happening in this game? any details?
  8. the team leader at Halls is back in pads...and you thought the pass rush was good before? This kid is good. He doesn't have the best of size, but he overcomes it with his huge motor on the field. I hope he stays healthy. his presence on the field can carry Halls quite well.
  9. Even if he don't play the rebs have 25 other qbs talented enough to get the ball to Douglas, Shiver (sp? sorry if it's wrong), and company. Could be interesting, but I think the Maryville Rebs pull it out.
  10. anything can happen, but i don't see it happening against central. Good luck to both teams, hope it's a good one
  11. I'd say kitts has a chance to get it if we go one game into the playoffs. As for this game, whoever controls the clock wins in my opinion.
  12. I don't think it's chargin..more like a "donation" that other sports take up in order to help fund themselves...ie track, wrestling, and such
  13. Is Kitts getting any looks from any colleges? He is really impressive! He scored 3 times tonight on long scores and broke a bunch of tackles. He had to have had over 150 yards if not 200. He's getting close to that 1,000 yard mark if he didn't break it tonight. A couple of good tough runs by gunter tonight. Good to see him get some tough yards when needed.
  14. In all likelihood they would have to go through 3 region 3-4a teams including Maryville, so, I don't really think so. Not impossible, but unlikely I think
  15. I couldn't agree more R&B. The coaches know the players better than the players themselves at this point in the year and if changes are needed, then the coaches have every right in the world to make them. Let's hope the kids come out to play friday from the opening kick to the last whistle.
  16. from what i understand, the west frosh have lost to both bearden and halls. Can't tell you a thing about any of the teams, but that is my understanding
  17. how's it look for the future out there at Clinton. How's the JVs and Freshmen looking. You all always have good frosh and jv teams. I think if you all forget everything that's gone on and look to the future and keep your kids at the school then you should compete, at a high level, in 4a
  18. that appears to be the fan poll from coacht...that would be just a popularity contest, not exactly who is best from a subjective manner
  19. I agree Leonard, after watching them on Comcast they appear to be overall a team. I didn't see that many passes over the middle though. West seemed to throw the ball inside more than Bearden on crossing routes and such. Seems like Bearden lines up and throws either a go route, deep out or post. Now I know that's not the only routes and of course that's just one game, but that's what it seemed like. Anyway you cut it though, Bearden is a lot better defensively up front than West. The big guys inside seemed to play more technique and were physical. Halls better be ready for a physical defensive front. Other thing I noticed is WRs for Bearden appear to be fairly physical as well. This should be an interesting game. It probably would be considered one of the better games of the week if it weren't for Murvil and Billy Blount. I think Bearden will get this one in a close matchup, probably not as high scoring as last week.
  20. Boy, it sure is good to see that. Caleb Leonard (sp?) sure does look like a man among boys out there. Is he getting any looks yet? I know he's just a junior, but it's about that time I would think. It also appears to me that Wes Kitts is finally learning how to run the football. We've all known he has the break away speed, and he's not all that small either, but anyways, it just seems like he's starting to get a real good feel of what's going on in front of him.
  21. they ought to move that game to Saturday so a lot more people can come see it
  22. I saw the game on ONDEMAND and it appears that Bearden was in the gun every play. Now, I don't know what that translates to as far as "types" of offense, but they were in the shotgun every play i think
  23. R&B, you picked Halls to win by 2 last week and it went to double overtime. That mean it's going to go 4 OTs this week haha
  24. Well, it appears to me that they're still doing those same plays but a lot of different formations makes that stuff harder to defend. I might be wrong, but it sure looks like they've found more ways to "mess" with the defense and get good matchups both running and throwing. They might not throw it for 200 yards, but everyone knows they got 2 or 3 receivers out their who CAN go the distance so they have to respect that.
