  1. Now that the "brackets" have names in them, I can no longer find the field and time information on TSSAA. Am I overlooking or are they somewhere else? Or as I suspect, they just went away!!!!
  2. ok....we get an update and absolutely NO COMMENTS !!!!! Does that mean we ALL agree. This is a first. OMG, which is Oh My big G???? Ok, I will give in to all the non-complainers and agree as well. EDIT: Not....ECS beat St. George's and if need be will again. Why oh why is St. G #1????? I forgot, they don't go by w's and l's. A N D !!! ECS is in the Top 11 and St. G is not. How on earth do these things get put on a website without someone proof reading. I know, I know.... the real deal is about to occur. It feels like deja vu all over again.
  3. That's good information and helps some of us better understand their "system". We were just thinking they drew team names out of a hat, or tossed darts to pick names. Hard to beat a down-home bias.
  4. Congrates to Hutch and Briarcrest for keeping the West alive to play another day.
  5. Congratulations !!!!!! Briarcrest 1 Ensworth 0 West had to travel to get a good game and excellent results.
  6. Keep this confidential, refs aren't allow to see this type of stuff. lol http://www.soccerhelp.com/Soccer_Tips_D ... ms_A.shtml
  7. You can look on Eurosports for history. Don't know who is district or not. In 2006 ND had 9 scored on them in total with 3 in state games. So only 6 all year. Didn't look at other years.
  8. And they do yearly, as does Baylor, Bearden, Siegel, etc. I was just giving him a chance to think out what he said and giving benefit of doubt on the negative implication. I would look for some "great" teams, beyond the good teams, as well. I think he was suggesting, the West must travel to find any really strong opponents, what ya think?? Really does not compute for me, but it doesn't have to.
  9. It's football time in west Tn and Calipari killing time as well. Newspaper doesn't even know that the U of M won Conf. USA Women's soccer title last year, much less that high schools play soccer. If you have the energy, try these: http://www.coacht.com/tennessee/sport.cfm?sportid=11
  10. I'm thinking you are just being proud of the quality of teams in the East and Middle and not suggesting that that going West of Nashville has no benefit. I think that there's enough good teams in the West to give each other all the competition they would want, but travel has many more advantages than "good" soccer. I know that many of our trips were less challenging than playing the JV Team at home, but that's not what it's about. Playing the same teams over and over will not get you ready for playing the big game, if so fortunate, where you could meet a team or play on a field you would have never been able to prepare for, had you not traveled.
  11. Until soccermon gets to Ensworth today, I make be your only source for reply. This is MOO. St. Agnes, St. Mary's and St. Hutch don't have large enough fields to host. These are all private schools where the facilities are maintained by outside resources and don't have the booster support you guys have. Parents would rather pay and travel than work and host. I think the CHS boosters water, cut, repair the grass, run concessions and so forth to afford a great site, not provided by the school board. Also you have numbers, they don't. CHS a GHS have 3 girls teams and I don't know how many boys teams. St. A, St. M, St. H are only girls schools and small in numbers. If St. George's, St. Benedict and St. Briarcrest would orchestrate an event, I think the others would follow/or assist. It could be a full time job getting it off the ground, so it would need some strong leadership. I think it would be more pride driven than expense driven. I don't know how the other private schools do it, but my experience was that the parents pay for Katie Hunter travel.... bus, food, hotel. Nashville events are car-pooled, players stayed with parents cost the school zero. State expenses are covered by the school. We did have a great day every year where SAA and Hutch (I think) traveled to Nashville to play Father Ryan and BGA and the next year they came hear. We provided lunch for team and families, and they did as well. It was great and as early in August as allowed. TSSAA, killed that with their limitations.
  12. Woof!! Woof!! Ready for the call Coach G. I just realized you are a handler and not in dog terms. Sometimes a shoveler. Can I say that on here????
  13. Station Camp did not allow a goal through regular-season district play nor through the district tournament this season? Have a lot of other teams accomplished that in the past? I mean, does that happen on a relatively regular basis? Any feedback would be appreciated. Want to be sure I understand your statement. Euro shows several goals against. I guess they are not district games? In 2006 St. Agnes went 19 games before one goal was scored (non-district game) and one more in Regionals. Zero in State, for a total of 2 against the entire 23 game season. That is a state record.
  14. I understand this is somehow linked to Eurosports but still good for TN schools. NSCAA National Rankings High School Fall Rankings Girls Region IV 7th Poll - October 20, 2009 Rank School Prev. 15. Well, and I think they are actually 7-7-3. They have beaten some teams that are not on Eurosport. And last week, they beat St. George's 2-1. From what I have heard, they had a very weak goally during the first part of the season, and lost a few games that should have probably been wins. They probably could have won all of their games if it wasn't for bad bounces, unlucky breaks, swine flu, or the dollar's declining value versus the euro. I saw them play once first-hand, and once second-hand. They will need a lot of breaks in the upcoming tournament. Have enjoyed you post so far...... Wanta bet a "crown" on ECS? Don't judge a team on 7-7-3. Look at PJP and Father R.'s record last year. Mega bucks in Vegas if you had only known.
  16. Bad dog. Wulff. Wulff, you still the MASTER. wulff
  17. I am just happy that the state championship is determined by playoff and not by subjective rankings or debate. Sooo .... You like to post here, but don't see the value of posting here, here, her, he, h (did you get the echo effect) ????? What a totally lame comment. This is not about results, its about how we get to results. Let's post the schedule in August and the results in November and cut Big G out of another chance to get HD Direct TN with 500 channels. Thanks for your input, we are all better now.
  18. Quarter Finals DII West Region ECS 9 --- Fayette 0 St. Mary's 3 ---Jackson Christian 1 St. Geroge's 4---- Lausanne 0
  19. Semi Finals District 14-AAA Arlington 3---Millington 0 Bartlett 2----Bolton 1 District 16-AAA Whitehaven 1----Central 0
  20. Hutch 2 Briarcrest 2 St. Agnes 0 St. Benedict 0
  21. You dropped Franklin for Siegel? Siegel is 7-2-5; Franklin 12-2-0; and Franklin beat Siegel head-to-head last month 4-1. This was my advice fromk Respectall, "Independence is in the same district as Franklin and Brentwood so thats not possible. I would add Siegel and Cleveland to the list" I shouldn't have tried AAA, just consider I don't know districts, so let me bow out. I didn't think I could have Brentwood and Franklin together?????? I'll wait for DII.
