  1. Simply too fast and big up front. We couldn't penetrate the HV line consistently and their corners were too quick for us to get outside. They had too many weapons on Offense. I almost hid the nail on the head with HVs score prediction but I said Cloudland could have 21. Without TO's we could possibly have got 2 scores but thats prolly about it. Too many mistakes against a team like HV this year. Oh well that game is over and now it's time to practice to take on Unaka next week. These boys got whooped all over tonight but can't hang their heads. Gotta rest up this weekend and get back to work next week. This season is far from over. 1 loss to a quality opponent, even tho I hate to admit it
  2. Don't look like I'm gonna make the game. Traffic is back up from in front of Kings house in RM past Cloudland Elem. And I'm not sure how far headed the E town way. Hope it's not a wreck. Anyone have any info?
  3. But that pick could be because you dislike HV just a lil more than you do us. Lol
  4. I'm going with 42-21 HV! Just my opinion! Hope it's exactly the opposite tho. No matter the outcome just hope for a clean, fun for those young men and NO INJURY game tomorrow night on Warrior Hill. If we was to win tho, then it could change my mind and us being in Top 10 in 1a
  5. Sounds about right Ace. I believe you have about hit it right on the head. I wish I could've been a little closer tho
  6. Gotcha! Thanks Bull. Poor feller, like I said I pray he is gonna be ok
  7. I just know I was in the gym and a parent of a Jr High player said that someone had got hurt pretty bad and had to be taken to Hospital. Just assumed they was talking about the Cloudland game but maybe not. Whoever and whatever team it was I hope and pray they are ok.
  8. Anyone know anything about the young man that got injured at the Cloudland game last night in RM? Just wandering if he is ok?
  9. No matter the outcome, just hope and pray for an injury free game for each side of the field. They both are off to a great start this season.
  10. Yeah I was referring to Tommy. Sounds like a game to watch from all on here. But yeah we don't wanna give it to them from the get go by turnovers.
  11. Could be a shoot out like Us and GP if we can move the ball on them. Our O line has improved and is working hard at it. If not then we will be 4-1 by this time next week. Just my opinion tho. Havnt watched HV any this year so I can't really base anything on what they have. If we come out with a W, I for one will honestly be surprised. Not taking anything away from our guys or Coaching staff at all. Just going off of last year and their schedule so far this year. It'll be worth the price of Admission and drive down for sure tho
  12. Game day Friday on what's looking like a beautiful day up here in the Mountains. If we were to get the W tonight I'm wandering from some of you Lander buffs when was the last time we started out a season 4-0?
  13. I havnt seen any other team in 1a top 10 play but I still don't see Cloudland as a top 10 team. We are getting better and playing physical with confidence. If we stay healthy we could maybe go a couple rounds in playoffs tho. Would love for this crew to bring a Gold Ball to RM, just don't think it'll be this year. Not putting down on Cloudland at all and I'm sure I'll hear it from the Highlander gang about this post, but I'm just being honest. Hopefully they prove me wrong
  14. Yeah those 2 styles of play couldn't get much more different. The Physical running of our backs in the first half I believe helped set the tempo of the game. I seen more than once a couple Avery boys side stepping on a tackle. Kinda worried me there at the end tho I thought they was gonna pull off a repeat of last year. One thing fer sure those McCullem boys can move in the open field. Good Win on the schedule but more importantly in those boys heads! Still building confidence but can't over look any team. I will be honest and say this, I didn't see us going 3-0 and hopefully 4-0.
  15. We just need to make mention of that to whoever. Could very easily have been one of our own! Whatever we do and no matter the outcome of the game, it can't get here fast enough. I'm ready to watch some Friday Night High School Football. Should be a great atmosphere in RM tonight and the weather should be awesome. We are a Blessed people up here in the mountains. We take advantage of that a lot
  16. Yeah I was hoping to see the younger Blair run and Big Blair catch and carry the pigskin. Our D Backs just gotta be on their toes. For sure they will try them all night with the quick pass and slants
  17. Yeah I think Blair needs more carries any way. Take a little load off of Coffey and he is a hard runner and could use the experience.
  18. Yeah the brothers are the ones I was talking about! The younger of the 2 bring to QB. I didn't realize that Tre's Lil brother was in High School. Wow time flies. Any way I thought we should've had the upper hand on the line last year and the better of the backs, but still came out with the big L. Hope the Win comes back to TN this coming week tho. Even tho, according to most of them, we are not worthy
  19. I agree with what y'all are saying. I'm just saying I don't think C Land is Top 10 1a mentioning material at this point. And no matter what, we CANT look past Avery. We seen that last year. Every Win is as important as the last. They could've got stomped all 3 games they have played and still play us like they are undefeated. Who they have played and how they have done says nuttin to what's could happen Friday night. I believe in our small town team and they have earned that and made me believe it. Hope we are 3-0 next week at this time.
  20. Avery beat an Ashe Cnty team that didn't have much and usually don't. Then McDowell handed them a good whipping but usually carries a decent team then The Pioneers came to McDonald Stadium and cleaned house. But like someone mentioned those are quite a bit bigger schools than us. That doesn't mean they are always gonna be better tho. C Land has surprised some of us with their 2 games played. GP also has a decent team. Bigger all the way around than us. Bigger line, more athletes, more players and even a nice Charter Bus. Lol. But the Lander Squad had the bigger heart at the final buzzer. And that means a lot. NG didn't have much so really that don't give us much to compare to. But our will, hustle, grit and just physical toughness has surprised a bunch. I myself didn't see us beating GP with not seeing C Land have played since last year and knowing what we lost. But we all remember what happened at Avery last year. No matter that calls, luck, or even coaching we lost. And we gotta be ready for a hard faught game Fri night at Orr field. Avery plays us like we play H Town. They hate to lose to us poor TN folk from a small town school that don't teach the kids at the school anything. Y'all know exactly what I'm talking about. Any way they do have a couple or 3 good athletes. 2 are brothers and have been good ball players all the way up from Elem school. The younger of the brothers run the QB slot and can throw the ball but loves to tuck it and run. If they can throw on us pretty easy and we leave the QB untouched like we did GP then it could be a long night. We gotta hang on to the ball, control the LOS and run the clock by power running. But I have been reading the Top 10 in 1a and some people are mentioning us and I don't see that. We are pretty good for small town East TN, but don't think we play with some of the others mentioned. It's still early and we go A LOT to prove still yet. But they are off to a good start and they are being taught to believe in their selves and gotta work for every play. And that's a big part of why we have won our 1st 2 games. All this just my opinion tho. And as for H Town, until we beat them, they still are on top of our battle. Even if they lose 2 more or whatever. We will get their best as well. Good luck to both squads and hope for good hard but injury free Friday night football
  21. The Vikes come to Orr Field after beating us last year in Newland. Im sure the Landers are wanting revenge but they better have their best Pass D ready to play to a Pass happy NC team. Even tho the Sanchez kid(fastest on the team) is out, some of the younger fellers have stepped up. Should be a goodun tho
  22. As long as the Huskies don't pass every play and we can gain a Lil bit on the ground against their D, we be ok. Last Friday was as good as a Pass Defense practice game as we could've had. And even with turning the ball over as many times as we did and still coming out with a W was BIG. Great motivational, self confidence game that those young fellers needed. They never gave up even after having their backs against the wall almost every possession. But 80% of that comes from the Coaching staff and they just came through and kept digging. Not saying they are a State Championship Caliber team but that game could have a lot to do with how they play the rest of the year. They needed that big time. But that's why those young men play the game and it's all about Match-ups. They just gotta be physical and play with intensity and then see where they are at the end on Friday night against NG. Hope it's on the winning side tho. Who knows where #2 could be at this point if not Blowing out his shoulder and not playing the past 2 years. I know one thing that made for a fun and exciting game to watch Friday night. I'd say ole Luns heart took a lick in that game after it coming down to the last play to decide the outcome.
  23. Wow! I didn't get to make the Jamboree but from what I had read on other threads I was kinda dreading it for C-Land Fri night. I also figured we was down on the Line both ways and figured that could limit us to what we could do. But after reading these comments I'm feeling much better. I was actually thinking of maybe going to watch Betsy and that JC team Fri night. But might just hang in RM
