The bad part is South has been averaging 42 points a game---the good part is the game starts 0-0.

On paper it looks like a no show for Jefferson County but I doubt they are willing to concede the game just yet. Strange things have happened when heavy favorites think they have the game in the bag . Sometimes the ball takes a funny bounce so I guess this will be settled on the field and not on a piece of paper.

Congratulations to both teams for putting on a good show for their fans. The results could have gone either way. East had trouble containing #7 Masters the entire game. East got the best of Boone by pounding the ball right at the Boone defense with #26 Hodge when the chips were down. Players on both teams played hard the entire game. East improved on their ball handling and did not make as many mistakes in this game . Both coaches and their fans should be proud of the efforts their players put out last night.

He is a tough kid. You have to be tough to play football , let alone rodeoing. Last year B. Ramsey, East QB , also played with one eye. He was tough also and is now playing defensive back at Pikeville College. East is ready to play tonight. I believe they will match up and the game may be decided by the team in the best condition . I think you hit the nail on the head. East has been moving the ball up the field and shoots themselves in the foot by fumbles. Inside the 20 scoring has been very low. East offense has made some additions to counter the swarming defenses . East should score at least 3 td's if they hold on to the ball and run power plays near the goal line. East is finally adding some pass plays--shotgun formation --etc --to help the play calling . East is capable of handling Boone if play does not get sloppy and the running backs run north and south. East playoffs begin tomorrow night ! A win keeps you moving on--a loss and the season is over. Boone won't roll over for you as they are in the same position . Put a win on the board and you get to challenge one of the top teams in the other Conference. That is what you have worked so hard for all year. It is show down time and you need to play hard as a team for four quarters. You showed last week you are ready to play with any team and another effort like that is needed to play next week. Kicker is not dependable --running backs small but quick ----strong on defense. Injuries did a lot of damage and East is just now recovering from those losses with mostly sophomores and juniors. East lost starters QB, RB,Center, and LB and that has caused a lot of pain. I believe East will be competitive and maybe pull out a win. Go Canes !!

BOONIE---Tell us East fans about your team . All we know is we had better watch out as you were good enough to beat Greeneville --something we could not do. Is Daniel Boone that strong . or was it that Greeneville had their mind on something besides football that night ? How about your offensive line, do you still have the big kids making the holes ? Give us a little run down on how you see your team playing this Friday. Go Canes !!

I heard the Boone QB or RB injured his arm--Is this a rumor, or fact ? If this is a fact , then both teams lost their starting QB in the middle of the season. I hope the predicted freezing weather holds off until long after the game is over. Go Canes !!

East isn't overlooking the Blazers at all. They are trying to recover from the bruises from last Friday's game and a 30 minute knock down scrimmage yesterday. Some are a little " gimpy legged " and may have lost a step or two but should be ready to take the field Friday. Go Canes !!

There was no relief for the weary yesterday at East practice.

East has been kept in the games by outstanding defense play and I believe the offense has been improving each week. The only let down East offense had this past Friday was not being able to put the ball in the end zone. I would think they will work on plays in that area this week and again reminded to hang on to the ball. I don't think East will have a let down and will be ready to play at the same level this week. The winner of this game lives to play again next week but to get there you have to beat Daniel Boone this Friday. Go Canes !!

Greeneville had a punt blocked in south end zone--ball came out past line of scrimmage --Greeneville player picked up the ball and advanced it far enough to get a first down. Should the play have been declared dead when the Greeneville player picked the ball up or when the player was finally tackled ? What is the proper rule in the above situation if it happens again ? Fans were treated to 48 minutes of a hard fought game ---something they seldom see. My hat is off to both teams. M--East has to get ready to do it again this week at Daniel Boone--a tough team to play any year. Go Canes !!

Luck ? You had it all tonight . Greeneville knows they are 1 or 2 --East knows they have to play DB as good as they played tonight to move on. East needs to work all week on their fumble problems as this is an on going problem every week. Carrying the ball like a loaf of bread is a no-no and needs to be stopped. I believe they have committed about 40 turn overs this season. No team can compete against good teams when you are moving down the field and are stopped with a fumble. Both sides of the ball played good enough tonight to compete with any team in their Region.

Congratulation on the Greeneville win tonight . Your fans really turned out to support your team. I will bet when you see the stats in the morning you will wonder how you came out on top. East had their chance to win and should have no complaints in losing. East couldn't hold on to the ball and should have scored at least 3 td's. But that is football --sometimes it doesn't come out as planned. I thought East had the best team tonight even though they lost. All the East players played hard nose football and was playing to win.

I sure hope East is ready to take it to the Green Devils early on. This game means a lot to East and it is time for the coach to pull out all stops. I think the head coach will talk it over with his assistants if East is having problems moving the ball early in the game. We won't know until tomorrow night who has to try to catch up ---I am hoping that is Greeneville. Go Canes. By the way--Morristown and Greeneville have played each other in most years since 1925.

I believe we will see a good football game tomorrow night. The question on my mind is--Have the sophomores and juniors at East gained enough experience to stay close to the mostly all senior team at Greeneville ? I believe if East can plays an error free game --no fumbles or interceptions --Greeneville will know they are in a game. It would be interesting to see which team could stand the pressure in a close game. East is coming into the game a little banged up but not so much they won't be competitive. Kev says a little luck helps but East may need a lot of luck to win. Go Canes !!

It seems the East--Greeneville game is still on for this Friday night . I hope someone got " Devilsturnaround " straightened out as he was telling everyone Greeneville was headed to Maryville. I hope East is more than a bump in the road Friday. "Barb"--I hope an East LB meets Bamer in the middle of the line and welcomes him to Morristown.

Are we sure Greeneville is coming down Friday night ? Their players have already put down a win for this game and wondering how far this moves them up in the polls. The East team needs more practice and the season is not over yet . I have a season ticket covering the East--Greeneville game and I was looking forward to seeing some action at Burke Toney Friday night. I hope the East players have not conceded a win to Greeneville.

I noticed the MLB wasn't in the game for some time. One thing puzzles me is sending a left hand passer on a sprint out pass to the right and a right hand passer going to his left and in both cases they have to throw across their body. We send people on a go route that can not get any day light between the defender. I don't know if the QB's can check off or they have to go by what the coach sends in before the defense gets set up.

It is going to be a good night for football. The sun is shining and there is a 10 mph breeze which should drop to 5 mph by sun down. Talking time is over . It won't be long until the East and Volunteer players do the talking on the field. The rest can sit back and watch what I think will be a good game. I hope it is an injury free game and I hope the Volunteer fans have a safe trip down and back. Go Canes !!

Unless this game turns into a battle of turn overs , my prediction is you have the wrong team on the winning end. It won't be long until we see who is right. Go Canes !!

The weather forecast for tomorrow night is a clear sky. It calls for rain after midnight and clearing by noon. I don't know if we can put much stock on their prediction as they have been wrong more than right. I hope we see an injury free game by both teams. I do believe East will win but if they lose I won't be making any excuses for them . I believe East is ready to take the game to the Falcons.

The East players know the Volunteer players you mentioned are good players. I believe there will be more points scored by East than 13. I don't think the 20 for Volunteer will be enough. Experience does mean a lot and East has to overcome that. I think East will field a team who is in good shape and will play to win. If East plays like they have practiced this week it will be a win for East. Go Canes !!
